I've seen her a few times now and I think she's absolutely brilliant! Her shows were so much fun. She's absolutely adorable.
She's from Austrailia and started out as a teen actor. She then moved on to music in the band Decoder Ring.
She is now on Epic Records.
I'm sure you're all familiar with her song The Show. It's been on Ugly Betty, A commercial for The Gap. Her other songs have been on Grey's Anatomy and 90210. Here's a link (http://www.lenkamusic.com/asseenon) to more.

Aah I remember when she used to be a co-host of Cheez TV back in the day...
Pretty cool that she's doing the solo music thing now; her songs are so fun to listen to. Definitely planning to get her album soonish.

Thanks Steph. I got mine at Best Buy. I was very surprised they had it but it seems if you get in on iTunes you get a bonus track called Force of Nature. They don't even sell it as a single on iTunes so that kinda sucked.
Yeah. I am looking forward to seeing her on the 26th in Orlando. Sadly, it's just as an opener but it will still be worth it.

ROAD REPORT FEB 4TH 2009.
Hello and here's hoping today is a good day for everyone out there!
I'm in Boston, wrapped up in a hotel robe, hiding from the snowy outdoors and relishing some relax-time.
Been on the road for about 25 days, eaten about 17 pounds of crappy truck stop food and done about 14 live shows.
Here's a highlight - the other night in Toronto we decided to do a live disco remix of The Show. It's something we muck around with at soundcheck sometimes, and i was feeling inspired by the recent remixes of Trouble and Don't Let Me Fall (you'll hear them soon), and the fact that it was my first sold out show! I saw Lenka open for Missy Higgins last weekend, she was good! Very charming and entertaining. She signed CD's after her set so I went and got one. I was pleasantly surprised by her set. ;D So far my favorite songs on the CD are The Show, We Will Not Grow Old, and Skipalong.

I am seeing her again on Monday!!! I hate that she's only an opener but I was surprised that she did like, 7 songs. (I went to the show in Orlando before the cruise, didn't stay for Missy and only 2 Justin songs) She is super sweet. She gave me a hug and asked how my holiday was going. We'll see if she still remembers me on Monday. ;)

looked back. Artists like Lenka deserve kudos for creating a compeltely unique sound amongst the home

limb and suggest Lenka will be heralded (at least in Australia) as the best new solo artist of 2009. Howzaaat!

Where was your tripod Let? Tell me you got some nice stills (there seems to be a shortage of choice images
in-online galleries from which to make an high-res graphics). Great to see a jazz-influenced tune like PMA
being featured in the line-up, becase Lenka clearly has the voice for such. Can't wait for a live gig here ;D

What I was alluding to was the lack of quality stills anywhere online as a resource in general... there are just
4 of them on Lenka's official site. Hopefully with more live performances coming up, its only a matter of time
before more come to light. I must make an avatar to start with at least... a SIG when there are better pics ::)

Good choice for the opening track, very groovy 8). It kind of reminds me the last album of Sia.
2. Heart Skips a Beat *****
Catchy melody and nice beat
3. Roll with the Punches *****
Funny lyrics. Totally a Lenka's song !
4. Sad Song *****
It's not really a sad song :D Enjoyable.
5. Everything at Once *****
One of my favorite. Simple lyrics but brilliant. I can't stop to sing this song in my head.
6. Blinded by Love *****
It's not bad but it's very conventional. Slow tempo.
7. Here to Stay *****
It reminds me "Live Like You're Dying". Ok song.
8. You Will be Mine ******
Really weird song with this kind of RnB beat. Not really Lenka-ish. In my opinion, it's the worst track of the album.
9. Shock Me into Love *****
It sounds like a 90' song but it's actually great.
10. Everything’s Okay *****
Cute song. I don't know what to say more.
11. End of the World *****
This is the perfect closing track for the album. It's actually a happy song.

Wow that's neat. Have you been there for your holidays? Or do you like live there? According to the way you write your name I'll take a guess and say that you're french. (J'ai téléchargé l'album de Lenka. Je vais bien sur l'acheter à sa sortie. Les 7 premiers morceaux sont vraiments excellent. Ensuite 2 titres vraiment trop électro. Mais avec la piste 9, l'album recommence :) Guess I'll have to wait til the record is released. I don't do stuff like downloading leaked version of albums :P

Oh thanks! I am so looking forward to her CD. It seems like 2011 is going to be a great year for singers, it sounds like all of our fav. singers are coming out with CDs this year XD Anna Nalick, (I think Priscilla Ahn), Lenka, Michelle, Vanessa, and I am getting Christina Perri's :P
My dad will think I am buying too much stuff, but hey that's his problem! :P

I've been listening to the record for a few days now. I like it! "Blue skies" was definitely the good choice as the lead single. It's gets better every time I listen to it. The other standout tracks to me are "Free", "Unique" and "Get Together" which is my personnal favorite (the chorus is so good!). I hear some melodies that heavily remind me of Lenka's previous stuff in "The long way home" (which reminds me of The Show) and "The bright side" which reminds me "Everything's okay") but I don't mind as those songs were great. All in all, great job Lenka!
