anytime I type vanessacarlton.com on my browser it asks for me to provide a user name and password.. I tried it on all the browsers I have and it does the same thing. I tried logging in with my my boards username/password but it just does not seem to work. Anyone else have this problem?

This is good news. At least, I hope so. It most likely means the site is changing. I'll look myself and leave true- or false hope behind and then give a report back. =]] I realllllly hope soo!

It loads but only crimsony red shows up. =]]

well it does not do that weird thing I had previously posted. But it just loads with that color no picture or anything. Hope its a good sign.

inc/universal was probably paying for the site...this is hopefully good news meaning shes moving on to something better, even if it takes time and theres no official site for sometime.

it's weird since the file http://www.vanessacarlton.com/vc_main.swf is still there and still on the source code of the index...I haven't looked that much into it, but I think it's more of a mistake then a website change. If they were changing the website I would expect to see at least a hiatus sign.

When her site has changed in the past it has always just gone t a blank screen as we see now, color variations of course, but it always means she is going to debut something amazing!

^I don't know, but anyway it is pretty irresponsible to just leave that website like that with no sign, the forum with all those spam topics, and so and so on.... it all reflects on her image.

I agree with clarice. And to me it looks like the people who own the rights to the site are no longer interested in maintaining it. I don't think this means good things at all, guys.

Vanessa doesn't own the site; Universal does.
I imagine they're getting ready to close it down completley. She (or her next label) will be able to buy the domain name after they've done with it, I think.

I wish it had some kind of "Under Construction" or "coming soon 2010" or something along those lines...its just pushing people away in a sense....potential new fans, or people rediscovering her...it's almost as important to have a digital front(myspace/website/digital content available 24/7) as it's important to have your song on the radio these days.....she's never had a good 'new media' team. :( Hopefully that changes with the next album...I mean, it's not hard to write a blog, or update a website. Tons of artists do it, or have someone else do it. It just looks very unprofessional too me to have all that spam like someone said as well as the site not working....I mean, really, if you didn't already go on the forums, chances are you wouldn't be able to find them right now correct? for about a month the site has been down....oh well, hopefully something good comes of it.

Checked today and it is still the same!
Her website not working, her myspace is not updated and is visually one big messy layout, her official forum the same, there is no twitter or blog or any other form of direct contact that she engages in. It's beyond unprofessional and let's face it, quite disrespectful to the fans .... honestly, not even sure why I still care...

Wow come on, have a little faith in our V! She's probably just regrouping and trying to figure some stuff out. I think we all need to be patient and let her get things sorted out and be there for her when she does!

the website is back up, they updated with the last show, but didn't even bother to update where it says "video for hands on me coming soon" ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
