Hi nessaholics, how are you?
Well, I'm from Brazil, and a few months ago a girl of 17 years old, born in Piaui (or better, the end of the world), northeast of my country, released this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmPB47Q-GKY . We can see more a person trying to get sucess with the ATM's melody.

She ruined ATM!
Last saturday, she goes to "Caldeirão do Huck", Vanessa already play in this program: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpvwUD5YKjE&
Supposedly, the staff of the program came into contact with Vanessa to allow that Stefhany sing "I'm Stefhany" in his program. But to say that Vanessa didn't allow. So, was created the campaign "Release Vanessa".
All brazilian fans hated this song and we started the campaign "Vanessa don't release", and the our first objective, is say to Vanessa about this absurd.
We're together, and coming into contact with more fans for help.
VANESSA CAN'T RELEASE THE RIGHTS TO STEFHANY!

The problem is that this girl, who only became a youtube sensation because 90% of the people who watched her videos made fun of her, is actually famous on the media now!
Then, her ATM parody or god knows what was that, started to become even more popular after two famous singers began playing that on their concerts.
Now this girl has been in national television shows singing this song. She is the typical "poor northeast girl with big dreams" with a stage mom who "writes" her songs. Overall the story seem to be moving to the masses and even to some celebrities who have shown support for her.
However the last tv show she went happened to be on was one that Vanessa had performed years ago. So the host said she would not be allowed to play her famous parody because Vanessa did not release the song and then they went on to launch this whole "Vanessa release the song" campaign, and now her increasing number of fans are doing petitions and all sorts of things hoping V. would release the song. IMO the main problem seems that, now with her not releasing the song, Stefhany's fans and for the media covering this stupid thing seem to think of Vanessa as some snob, rude pop star....
Oh, and the car she mentions so much in the song, she actually got the car in a tv show last weekend and apparently the company wants her to have some sort of endorsement deal.....
SO YEAH, despite all this, PLEASE VANESSA, DO NOT RELEASE THE SONG!
Seriously, this whole thing is beyond ridiculous....and it's really annoying all of us brazilian nessaholics.

I'm not ashamed of our country, I'm just ashamed of the mass culture and current midia. The fact that we have amazing musicians, incredible music history, amazing songwriters, great beats, dance all that and then some girl with absolutely no talent gets more media attention then any of the other deserving talented artists.

This upsets me greatly. It makes me sad that some people don't recognize the original creator of the song. Now the are pursuing a campaign for V to ''release the song". It wasn't Stefhany's to begin with. She should be ashamed of herself.

good for the tv show that refused her. and vanessa's 2004 performance (the second video elintonw linked) was a nice flashback. she looked and sounded really pretty in that video.

I read a couple of weeks ago that Stefhany is making 30,000USD per concert, a 2000% increase from what she used to make per gigs, since her youtube videos got more and more popular.
On a more positive note, Universal finally got her videos removed from youtube videos for copyright violation!
It only took what? a few months, a bunch of national tv appearences, live shows for them to take some kind of action...oh well, better late than never.... ::) ::) ::) ::)

So what you are saying is that she never even got permission? That she used this song illegally? Promoted it? Made money from it?!

Okay well hopefully she will also get a big ass lawsuit with that check. I am so sorry if she is poor. But she has potential if she can get a bit more creative and stop being so... ah ridiculous? haha
