I'm pretty sure KT Tunstall has a similar format, at least with the little cassette tape for the music, so hopefully it's a bit more interactive and updated more *crosses fingers*

Here's a cool thing. I've got three browsers. One of them has the updated sites and the two others the old ones. I remember doing the repeated ctrl+r in the browser before the updated site loaded.

this is so exciting - I love the new font! I think it's good that she's changing up her look.
I was thinking the other day, this is going to be a brand new Nessa. This is the first music in a while that wont have had any input from Stephen Jenkins (I'm assuming), which I think is a good thing - for her to branch out and do things different ways and on her own terms (not that her work with him wasn't!). I think this album is really going to reflect the current Vanessa Carlton, and I'm so excited for that.
I just hope the album manages to gain enough attention for her to do small international tours. I'd love for her to come back to Australia!

Would love a new video too! But think that might be too optimistic at this point. Music videos cost a lot to make, and V isn't signed to a label (that we know of?).
A preview of the new single would be as realistic a wish that we could ask for.
Can't wait to hear some new studio material! I really hope that the studio versions of the new songs are as amazing as the live recordings!

Not really tho. If you have a nice camera (DSLR or whatever) and some friends, you can make a kick ass, beautiful, awesome music video. Hands on Me for example, is super simple!

I was so upset when people disagreed with Joey on his seeing the bunny in the original writing on the new site. I sooooo see what you see and with each update it becomes more evident that he was right (in my opinion!).
I think we may have to wait, not quite six months, but until she has a single out, until we get a finished site. I check every day and hold my breath until I see the "coming soon" write itself, then I let out a sigh because it's not "soon" yet. :-[

Does anyone remember how long (or if) the site was under construction when Heros and Thieves came out? I was not a memeber of either site and did not follow as closely as I am these days. I'm just wondering if there would be a correlation and when we can expect the new site to be up and a single...?

It was a picture of Vanessa *the red dress one against the tree from H+T* and her name and said coming soon. I know board members took print screens of it, Kulp, I think too some. Correct me if I am wrong. :). Thought that was a while back so I doubt anyone still has them.
But that said, I don't think one can really expect for the site to be back in the same time that it took for it to be back during H+T. It could be longer, or shorter.

I had a dream last night that the site was ready! It didn't look like what I imagined, it was totally different. But it was still ready. In the dream I was searching to find when a single was going to come out and I was on the brink of finding it when I woke up! Dreams always end when the good stuff gets started! Hopefully our dreams will come true within the next week or two.

Then we ended up in the woods I think back home here in pa and we were talking about horses lol...any who...I asked her when the album would be coming out and she told me in April =D I'm gonna make a guess and say April 19th. =] <3

OMG, I miss everything! I was driving all day today from a long weekend at my sisters house. We were having so much fun I never checked the computer. I come home to this!!! My heart just about pounded out of my chest, I got giddy with excitment and just sat here smiling as I watched her. Of course my husband is like, who is that? WHat are you watching. I thought she was black. and on and on. and I'm like SHUT UP!!! so I have to watch it again when I'm alone because he bugs me. hehe. I can't believe we are getting more and more info. I agree with Weisz, I think V would make gorgeous instrumental music..I love the instrumental-only bits in "Home" and "Come Undone" (and her other songs too) ..that being said, I'm so glad she's making an album!!! I hope there's some piano-only music on there...

The studio versions of some of the songs really sound brilliant, although we have already heard some of the live versions of certain songs, the produced version will be like listening to a completely different song. Can't wait to listen to London.

I too think she looks amazing in this video and in the photo shoots. I love the shot of her when she's in the fur coat and she turns around, makes a face and then smiles. Her smile just melts me! Is that weird coming from a woman? lol. She is so beautiful and this album is just a culmination of everything that is her. I also just noticed that Victor is sitting right next to her on the chair (which I like), he's adorable (for a wiener dog). I'm glad she has that companionship. Animals really do ground you and give you a sense of home. I'm getting more excited for undiluted Vanessa goodness.

OMG @ the whole thing. I was okay until I heard the studio version of I Don't Want to Be a Bride. Then the children's choir came in, and the piano and drums and V's voice over top, and I just had tears streaming down my face. STREAMING. Then when the whole video was over I just kinda put my face in my hands and sobbed.
I AM SUCH A LOSER. But this album just sounds so magnificent, so transcendant, words can't explain.

c) I love how she inspires me after watching this video. I mean she seems so confident of herself. It's like she knows what she wants and she's going after it. And it's not something impulsive... It's kinda well thought out... and just inspiring. LOVE THAT PART ABOUT THE VIDEO.
d) Does anyone else feel the makings of a second "Pleased to meet you"?
e) The part in the background that sounds like a her song being reversed when they introduce patrick hallaghan? AWESOME MUCH!!?
f) The bits of London that was leaked. Extremely haunting and TOTALLY unlike the stronger voice we've heard her use when she's sung it live.
g) The boots on concrete song seems to have an amazing chorus. Love the dreaminess of it all.
h) Actually disappointed with the number of kids in the children's choir. I wanted more of 'em!!! Or do you think this was just these kids recording and then they got some more of 'em. Blah. I don't know squash about recording.
i) Lastly. Love the way she reacts at the end of the video. The "Beautiful!" bit... She is so serendipitous even though she's such a pro flying solo and all... ya know what I mean? ;-)

At first, I was kind of disappointed that ROTR would only have 10-11 tracks (depending on if she releases an iTunes bonus, which I doubt), but somehow I think it's perfect. The album feels like it's going to be one long story.

I know I clubbed my points in the last response to the thread (which is why no one has considered some VITAL points I think I raised there (kidding... I'm not THAT pretentious :P)...) so I'm bringing to light two important observations:

Yeah, I actually think there will be a DVD for this. Well, I would hope so. I would LOVE a mini web series of a "making the album" like Sara Bareilles did with her 'Kaleidoscope Heart' thing - she sent updates every week in the form of a vlog and you got to see songs being created, her thoughts, inside the studio, etc.

I might be the only one here but, i kinda think that a dvd is not necessary, I mean, she could just release the videos online like a lot of artist nowdays do as u all say, and no, this would not mean less benefits, the contrary, selfpromotion. She should approach more to the world using Internet, It's how it works now. Nobody discovers a musician or an album on a record store or by watching the tv (mtv, vh1) anymore. Yeah, the vlogs, tweets, and social media messages will be important if she's looking for commercial appeal. Even if not it will help spread the word to some of her other dedicated fans who may have moved on but are still in the inner NESSAholic circle and will eventually get word of the new material. 8)

she should do both. I think having a hard copy of everything is important to her (hello, she's taping on analog) and it's important to us (well at least me). As much as the digital age is taking over, I love having CDs and books. I've only bought a handful of digital songs and books for my eReader. I think initially having everything online is a smart promotional move, but eventually, there should be a dvd of some sort.

There are times when my Nessa fervor lags because she's been away for so long, but then when she takes us into her world, catches us up on what she's been doing, I am reminded of how much I admire and support her.

It's A-MA-ZING! I mean, you can hear a couple of new songs (well, actually I think only one or two) and the songs we already heard (like I Don't Wanna Be A Bride & London).... From what I've heard this album is a lot softer, I mean... Is really relaxing, all songs are soft and slow, I L-O-V-E it! What did you think????
However, when she said at the beginning of the video: "To be honest, I wasn't sure if I was ever going to do another record" My heart STOPPED (and NOT in a good way). Jesus.
Anyway, what do you guys think of the new album??? Are you excited as I ammmm?
Oh, and BTW I have a question is the album gonna be released like, vinyl??? I didn't get that part. That'd weird.

I wish they would update the website now. I've watched the video about 500 times! lol. Not necessarily open it, I doubt it's ready, just maybe a picture with a stream of carousel and the release/purchase details so casual visitors would know it's out.

Well, there's 2 errors. Harmonium was released in 2004 and not 2005 and Heroes & Thieves in 2007 and not 2008.

I also love the new website! The artwork is so beautiful and I like how the site moves when choosing from the menu. It's something different. Hope they will add an extra photo section. Already love the ones that are on!
