Looks like Vanessa's going to be performing at Best Buy after all. Saw this on their website: http://www.liveatbestbuy.com/events/vanessa-carlton
It'll be on August 4 at 6PM at the Best Buy in Union Square, NYC.

Be one of the first 200 people to purchase Vanessa's new CD, "Carousel" at Best Buy Union Square starting at 12:01am on Tuesday, 7/26 and you will receive a wristband for admittance to the in-store performance & signing. The next 100 fans to purchase "Carousel" will receive a wristband for admittance to the in-store signing only. Arrive early. Space is limited. Limit one wristband per person.

Balls. I can't go, but I might go get a wristband and maybe someone else here can go.
Am I reading this right? We have to go there TWICE? What a pain in the Nessahole. Still, Best Buy is one of the only places doing ANYTHING like this, so I do not want to badmouth them; they're just trying to get more people in the door more often.

What's the deal? Is Best Buy an embarrassing place to perform or something?

Balls. I can't go, but I might go get a wristband and maybe someone else here can go.
Am I reading this right? We have to go there TWICE? What a pain in the Nessahole. Still, Best Buy is one of the only places doing ANYTHING like this, so I do not want to badmouth them; they're just trying to get more people in the door more often.

ha! gotta love it. If it wasn't mandatory for my job to only have one summer vacation I think I would try to get to this..maybe I can finagle something with a shift switch.. I'll look into it when I get back, so I may take you up on the offer to get the wristband.. I'll let you know unless someone else who can FOR SURE go wants it instead.

Not entirely sure I'm going. If it were Lincoln Square, it would be closer to where I work and thus be easier to get to. If there are lots of other N-Holes meeting up, it might be a nice social event.
@Martin Best Buy isn't exactly Madison Square Garden, but if you're in the business of selling physical CD's, you could do a lot worse. I don't think people realize just how much the business has changed.

Wish I could go... but I live across the country and will b on vacation so ya... that may not work out... :) But there's a signing and everything... haha... Whoever goes, Enjoy! and LOL at the extreme fail on what album she's putting out... :)

lady gaga performed and did a signing at the same best buy a few weeks ago -- it's not an "embarrassing" place at all haha.
i'm definitely going. i only live 3 stops away from union square.

The Best Buy site finally fixed the album title! I had emailed them when the link was first posted. Haha.
I won't know until closer to the release date if I will make the trek to the city to attempt to get a wristband. I probably would go some time after work to get in line.

omg. I went there tonight to get my CD and wristband. There was a line of only about 20 people by the time the clock struck 12:01, and you'd think I would have had an easy time getting a CD. But NO. Best Buy came fully-prepared with 7 CDs in stock.
So yeah, I have to take my receipt in later to get my CD but at least I got my "wristband." >:(

Glad to see Best Buy were prepared. I mean, they advertise this competition and then only stock 7 copies of the album. Idiots.

they STILL do not have the album in stock. fucking ridiculous. since i live in pa, my best friend who lives in nyc went in yesterday to get a wristband for me and they turned her away cause they didn't have it in stock. they said they weren't gonna give out any more until they got the album back in! today i called and they told me the same thing, so i asked to speak to the manager and she agreed to let my friend pay for the cd and get the wristband for me, and they marked the receipt saying i can pick up the cd when they get it back in. sooooo annoying!!!! so yeah. don't let them turn you away. tell them you want the wristband and you are willing to pick up the cd later.

The cd is back in stock. My husband was able to pick it up and a wristband for me!

Anyone in the Union Square area this weekend should definitely stop by the Best Buy. I bet you'll have a good chance of picking up the album and getting a wristband.

I just got my wristband tonight... they still have them left.. so if you're having doubts thinking you're too late, go get one. I was surprised they still had any. but happy.

Do you think they'll have the videos up after the performance like they did her her other livestreams? 'Cause the link isn't exactly to livestream, but it looks like they have livestreams for some the other artists that are on there.... so I guess that's how it'll be for V? I don't know if I'll be able to see this one live. :\
