Title: Are tater tots and hash browns the same thing?

I know this sounds stupid, but I think it's funny and it caused a little debate among my friends. lol(:

So not the same thing! lol... this is ridiculous, but one is a round group of potato, and the other is a cohesive pan full of deliciousness made of strips of potato..... difference? I think so.... :) this is ridic! lol

You make a good point though -- they are still both made of potatoes ..

They are both potato. Hahaha. So technically, yes.

But the texture and shape is different. One is fried, the other is pan fried.

No, They are not the same, but I was craving hash browns the other day. I think I prefer hash browns because I have bad memories of the school cafeteria tater tots from elementary school-- yuck!  :P
