That seems like a good idea but the cost of vinyl is actually pretty expensive. Even having a limited edition of 250 is costly which is why the price is so high because if it wasn't she really wouldn't make any money off of it. Most artists who put out vinyl usually have at least 500 made to be able to sell it at a reasonable price to try and make some sort of profit off of it.

Vinyl isn't like, say, a CD-R. A pressing plant makes a run of a few hundred at a time. Same with CD's. When you make a real CD, the plant will make no fewer than say 200 or 250; it simply isn't worth it to make less. There are always a few extras made called "overs".

I always thought it was cheaper to make a lot at the same time instead of making them individually. Kind of like wholesale.

For the price I paid it better be signed. $35 for ONE 10 track record is a bit steep. HA Who am I kidding? Even it they weren't signed I would pay anything for this record.

Oh i know now. um i believe that all the receipts say August 1 as the ship date, but if you check the status of your items now, it says August 8 for the shipping date. They probably delayed it, so that explains why mine hasnt shipped yet :P

Even though there's not really much point because they would just be transfers of the digital recordings, it would be cool to have them with the big 12" artwork in my collection lol.

I totally agree! What I think is that they wanted to have "just enough" so they could distribute. Seems to me that they aren't concerned as to whether or not they will be able to sell all LPs. I know they will. It's just a matter of time.
From what I remember, 3 were given away for free through The Vinyl District (which was an awesome offer!)
And I was totally misled. I somehow thought that the vinyls would run out after a week or so, so I bounced on the offer and immediately bought one the day it was put on the site.
But look, it's been a week or two, and she hasn't sold all 250 by now. I'm thinking it's because majority of her fans don't own LP players. I admit I don't, but my grandparents do. It's just a different generation.

If you dont mind me asking what program do you use to make gifs?! I've always wanted to make one haha
Well I use photoshop, but you can make them on a free program called gimp. It'll take a while to learn a whole new program though.

yes, it's the fold-open booklet cardboard sleeve thingy, then inside the sleeve of that is the actual vinyl inside a white protective sleeve, and a separate sleeve-lyric sheet, looks the same as in the CD-booklet, except printed on one large sheet of glossy paper folded together to act like a pocket (I guess you can put your vinyl inside here if you wish). Very beautiful.
it came packaged as any other vinyl would be.... and if you're not familiar with that, it's not like a box, it's a special cardboard sorta-wrap-around thing that folds around the vinyl, like if you were to fold something flat in a shirt for example, (only totally not like a shirt at all lol) except the shirt is made of box cardboard and put together with glue. lol. don't worry, your vinyls will arrive safely. mine did. and i got more than one. (they were all packaged together by the way)

It looks amazing! I'm kinda glad the signatures arent on the front so it doesnt take away from the design. Can't wait to get mine! wonder what number I'll get :D

Mine is 183/200. Haven't played it yet, or done an A/B comparison witT the CD. The album only runs 37/38 minutes so it should sound nice on a single LP.

She should make maybe a limited number of vinyls of her albums or te fans! I think that people would eventually buy them all, like they did with ROTR. that way she could get profit from the fans without losing money from nobody buying her vinyls if it were mass productes

and i don't think it was signed och numbered, because on the picture I saw the vinyl still had the plastic wrap on.

My guess, after some thinking, is that they might have sent the vinyls back to the company who made them after they were signed so that they could be sealed? maybe I'm thinking too much.... :-/

We don't really have a proper postal system where I'm from - no ZIP or postal codes - so if you're not ordering through FedEx or Aramex, it's highly unlikely you'll ever get your order. I usually have everything I order shipped to a forwarding address in New York and they send it here via Aramex, but vinyl store wouldn't let me ship to a country that doesn't match my credit card origin. :/

the vinyls were for sure only to the USA. i tried to buy it with my sister's adress (she lives in miami) but then they didn't accept my card. so i tried to buy it with my real adress (brazil) and they also didn't accept the card. :(

I ordered mine from VC.com and Topspin was the company I dealt with. I'm sure this vinyl work was farmed out to a pressing plant somewhere and this company dealt with that....not sure how they accomplished the signing, though.

Curious because I listened to the vinyl for the first time today and it sounded the same as the digital. And I remember reading in an interview her saying that the album was meant to be heard in vinyl, but they sound the same to meee!!

You hear people that say that music is only meant to be heard on vinyl and things like that. Honestly I don't hear that much of a difference, with the exception that CD is flawless and vinyl does have that imperfection that gives a depth to it. Songs like Hear The Bells, The Marching Line, In the end were even more haunting when I listened to them on vinyl! Then, I don't know for what reason but "Fairweather Friend" was the song I appreciated the most on vinyl (along with Hear The Bells!), Vanessa's voice was in a way floating above the music and that made the song even more special. Then there are songs I gotta admit, weren't really different TO ME (like Dear California - which is one of my favorite of the record btw).
EDIT : that brings me to another question. Are the mp3s files sold with the vinyl the same mp3 you'd have if you ripped your CD with iTunes (well only in 320 kpbs!) or are they mp3 rips of the vinyl?
