Baha, naturally RIGHT after I leave my house in Connecticut (and thus my only piano).

I definitely want this!

Judging by her master class with Carousel, I am thinking/guessing that it's going to be a top vocal line with a piano accompany?  I'm hoping that the vocal line isn't in the piano parts like with all the other song books.

Yeah I hope it's the REAL piano part as opposed to, like, the right hand playing the melody hahaha.  I haaate easy piano.

It was only in Harmonium ( ithink ) where they did that it'll probably have the vocals and instrumental like in BNN, or else I'll be pissed lol

It's coming out tomorrow! If someone here pre-ordered it/is gonna buy it, I'd love to have some feedback, I'm still undecided about buying it :) I mean I know I will but I live in Europe so I'd have to make a amazon order especially for it, otherwise I'm just waiting til I have other stuff to buy!

According to amazon.ca and Barnes and Noble, the release date has been changed to Sept. 6.  Hmm.

I preordered it to be shipped to my house, but it's up to the publisher when they're gonna sell): even if I preordered it to a barnes store, which is just another five extra bucks.

Not all stores, the music/book stores near my area won't be getting it unless someone preorders it, and it's pretty much up to the publisher when they're gonna ship it since the store didn't order it a long time ago

On amazon.ca, it says the book still hasn't been released, but there are pages that can be previewed!!!  Unfortunately, it does look like it's yet another melody-in-the-right-hand transcriptions.  Parts of "Carousel" and "Tall Tales for Spring" are available for preview here:

Just talked with Hal Leonard Corp on twitter... I was tweeting like mad to Razor&Tie, Vanessa, and Hal asking what was going on and Hal Leonard tweeted me back with some info.

Here are the tweets: http://i53.tinypic.com/14t69fm.jpg

So hopefully it should be out soon!

Amazon said that my estimated shipping date is Sept 20. It should be out soon. I kinda harassed Hal Leonard and Amazon to release it soooo. SOON.

got it! can't wait to play. not glossy as these usually are, but it's beautiful. there's a note of sorts from v in the beginning.

"Rabbits on the Run is a collaboration between myself, Steve Osborne, Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket, Ari Ingber of The Upwelling, a 1/2 inch tape machine, and a stone house in the English countryside. This album is inspired by two books: Richard Adams' Watership Down and Stephen Hawkings' A Brief History of Time. It was written and arranged over two years and put on tape at Real World Studios in Box, England.

Transcribing the album into a songbook was a wonderful process and a rare treat for me as a pianist. Many of the editing sessions took place via speaker phone; one phone resting on top of my piano in New York City and one phone on Dan Geisler's piano in Colorado. Our job was to take the instrumental and vocal melodies from the album and boil them down into one arrangement for the piano. We were careful to maintain the vibe of each song and our hope is that each transcription stands on its own as a dynamic piece of sheet music.

I dedicate this book to Heidi Carlton and her students.

Special thanks to Dan Geisler, Jeff Radke, Jordan Feldstein, Universal Publishing, and Hal Leonard.

Best,

Vanessa Carlton"
