July 6th – Fox Theatre, Detroit
July 12th – Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT
July 14th – Farm Bureau Live, Virginia Beach, VA
July 15th – Borgata Event Center, Atlantic City, NJ
I REALLLY REALLLLLY wish she would announce these things sooner because I could be going to several of these if not for timing.. I'm going to try to figure out the july 14th and 15th that might be doable, but doubtful
she posted this note with it:
Sometimes music is a purely spiritual experience. That's how I feel when I watch Stevie Nicks. Miss Nicks is her own breed of shaman, and I'm psyched to announce that while she is on tour next month I will open a few shows. I'm totally honored and excited to see my friends again. I highly recommend coming out and getting a glimpse. It’s always inspiring to see a pure artist like Stevie. As for moi? I’ll play a little set...mostly stuff from Rabbits, a few ear worms and will test out some new ideas (all with the violinist Skye Steele).
July is shaping up to be the best month of the year. Seriously.
I bet summer is treating you all well. I can feel the beaming tans thru this gadget.

I love Vanessa and Stevie's friendship, it's so genuine. I'm glad they're doing this again. Even if I'm not really into her music i love Stevie, I really do. Wish i could go! Plus she's gonna do new stuff :D :D I'm also expecting to see new live version of 'The One' surface on youtube?? :D :D

ditto, but for the VA and NJ ones. I'm trying to get one night off of work and I might be able to swing it, but I only have one girl left to ask to switch and she's on her honeymoon :( the others said no.

I got my tix for the VA beach show. I got section 102 row H. I would have liked to get better seats but they were expensive! My mom is going with me and she loves stevie like I love vanessa.

Haha I am totally pigging backing off of my Mom's love for Stevie too. It was like the stars aligned! The seats were expensive, hopefully we get a new song or two.

See, this happens quite frequently. As you can recall, Vanessa (and I think Stevie too?) were in Vienna last year, well now she's in Virginia Beach. Same state I'm in, but too far away. V needs to prep us months in advance so it's easier to come up with the money/time to transport ones self.
Everyone who goes, have fun! This would be a dream for my mother and I, she raised me on Fleetwood Mac.

^^^ Unfortunately I don't think they're going to add more shows. Stevie starts her tour with Rod Stewart on July 20 and that's going into August. There is a random Oklahoma date in September that Vanessa might open for. But after that, I don't see any more dates being added opening for Stevie because Fleetwood Mac goes into rehearsals in January for their 2013 tour, and Stevie will probably just take a break after September and prep for the Mac.

Does anyone think Vanessa will open for Stevie again? Like on an actual tour and not just a few dates? I've talked to some Stevie/Fleetwood fans and they all seem to love her and Vanessa's relationship and think it's cute. I hope she has her open because she obviously must know how hard Rabbits struggled. I'm just worried about V paying her bills! I know she gets royalties and has more money than I will probably ever see, but I get worried still!

No new stuff, my heart jumped a bit when V finished IDWTBAB and said "...There's one more song........." but nope :-\
It was the first time I heard the Marching Line live, I teared up a little bit haha.
She didn't come out to say hi or sign autographs but she got a standing ovation at the end of her set which was awesome to see. Vanessa got a song dedicated to he rby Stevie in the middle of the show, she talked about how Vanessa has done so much for her heart and "saved" her. It was really kind and i'm sure a huge honor for her : ). Vanessa also popped out at the end for a final bow, stevie made sure she waved and smiled even though V looked uncomfortable hahaha.
Skye was in the audience watching and got the three guys next to him kicked out, didn't know what that was about. Funny to watch though : )

V was great last night, though I was disappointed in the setlist. I didn't care for the majority of the songs she played from ROTR and I don't know that they were the best choice for last night's crowd. I feel like V's Heroes and Thieves set went over better back in '07 and those songs just sounded better live. Most ROTR songs don't transfer live well, imo.
I still loved getting to see Vanessa again, though. I loved Carousel and IDWBAB. Of course the crowd cheered the most for A Thousand Miles. V called it her "weird obsession" song and had to compose herself after giggling before she could play.
As was mentioned already, Stevie dedicated For What It's Worth to Vanessa, saying that she had done more for her heart than anybody else ever has and she is so thankful for her. It was very sweet.
At the very end of the show, Vanessa came out for the final bows and it was so cute when Stevie pushed V out front and had the audience cheer for her again. And then Stevie grabbed V's hand and made it wave to the audience haha. V was all smiles but she had that shy look on her face. I love the equal admiration that Stevie and Vanessa share for one another. It's pretty awesome when your two favorite singers are bffs and love the hell out of each other.

I am listening to For What It's Worth, and I am convinced to get the whole album. Stevie writes beautiful lyrics, and I am glad that V had inherited it.

Thanks for all the lovely detailed reviews, very helpful. I think it's so wonderful the relationship Vanessa and Stevie have, and I bet professionally, it's nice to have some camaraderie in a cut throat kind of industry.
Edit: Just realised that the next show is at the Mohegan Sun arena, and I'm pretty sure that was where there was a tiny kind of behind the scenes video when Vanessa last played with Stevie, including Vanessa's excellent cocktail skills consisting of pretty much vodka.

That is incredible quality, you can really hear the piano and the violin sounds great. Thanks so much. We may all be able go get the bottom of the lyrics riddle. Also Vanessa sounded quite happy and enjoying herself at the start.

I freaked out when she said she was going to play a new song. I had my phone out just in case. I am surprised by the quality since I recorded it with my iphone.
It really was a great show even though it was a short opener set. Like I said before, Vanessa sounded perfect. If anyone cares, I believe the setlist was:

I'm glad that you had a great time, Stevie does seem to have a great stage presence. I can't believe that was on an iPhone, I thought that you had smuggled some professional camera in or something, it's so incredibly clear, especially the piano.

You're the best! this song is very nice and simple. I can see how it would be translated into an echoey electronica. I like that for live sets it is acoustic (for now?) I love how she says she is "into little phrases" like take it easy. My favorite right now is "it is what it is" and I see it a lot these days (I even bought a t-shirt with it on it in Salem, MA). I'm excited to see her, hopefully soon!
