Title: Florence and the Machine
Post by: sarab on July 21, 2012, 04:16:56 pm
I was REALLY shocked there isn't a topic for her already!  I have been recently entranced by her and I know there are some of you out there who also love her.  I am thinking of going to the september 16th show in Saratoga, NY because I will already be traveling that day.  Anyone else thinking of going?  I'm definitely buying my ticket real soon!

OMG.  what an amazing show!! did you end up going ?  I drove 6 hours from my sisters house (then three and half hours back home) to get there but it was soooooo worth it.  She started off a little shaky but really hit her stride about three songs in.  I almost cried when she first came out on stage (which is beautifully done), also when she started heart lines which is one of my fav songs on ceremonials and means a lot to me, and then when she came off the stage -- I swear my heart stopped.  I had a couple of fuddy duddy's next to me who weren't dancing or singing so I couldn't really get into it (no room) as far as dancing and I'm glad they left a bit early (during encore) because it gave me more space to jump! I definitely recommend her show.

I'm so glad you went! I wasn't able to - had to work and I had a lot of homework to catch up on. She's magnificent - did you get any video?

yeah a few.  there were times i just wanted to be enveloped in the music or to sing, so I didn't record much, but i did get some when she came out into the crowd (but you can barely see her, just a flash of hair!)

Has anyone noticed that "Bedroom Hymns" from her "Ceremonials" album is featured in "The Great Gatsby" movie trailer? I was smiling from ear to ear when I watched it :)

Um. Thoughts on "What kind of man?"

IMO: I LOVE IT. The video is perfection and I really hope Vanessa makes a video like that in the future. Artsy AF!

I am loving What Kind of Man! It took a couple listens, but I really like it. I am SO excited about the new album :). It might help with the Liberman wait!

That last tweet by Vanessa acknowledging 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' made my day. It was like fandoms colliding!!!

Anyone else loving this album?
