All-
I wanted to take a few moments to post *my* thoughts on things. I have been very unhappy with the volume of posts lately that are of a negative nature. It makes *me* want to visit this place less and less and i don't think i'm in the minority. I think several posts have been uncalled for as of late. If you're debating a topic where you are intelligently articulating your points and someone disagrees, that is fine... but if you take any opportunity to openly belittle or 'flame' another member, that is just not acceptable. One of the reasons we wanted this location was to get away from the fighting on the VCMB... let's not bring it here please. When you are presented with a question in a post, or something that needs to be responded to, you have a choice! You can be a complete and total ass or you can be pleasant and help them along. People make mistakes! Everyone does! No one is perfect and when people come here, they are entitled to a few mistakes. If it becomes an issue and you see it before any of the Mods... let us know! We want to know your feelings and in return we will address it with that individual in PM.
In the end, we want to be a successful entity with a growing user base. When that happens people are bound to have disagreements but please choose the high road and just report it or PM/AIM one of the Mods or the Evil Admin. <3

p.s. i KNOW a lot of you are smart-asses... SO AM I! I'm not saying you have to be this nice individual wandering around here with kid-gloves... just don't jump on every opportunity to be an ass... not a smart-ass :D

I agree, but i also think that we have to take into account that this board cannot always be the perfect place we want it to be. The VCMB was a close knit community until a series of incidents such as these tore it apart. I agree that these can be controlled, and i accept your point Katia- this board IS different to the O-board but i think it is perhaps naieve to think that everything will always be just peachy around here. In organisations arguments occur, people disrupt things, especially as groups grow larger- it is only natural, in terms of probability, to expect that someone will disrupt things. However, this board is different because we have active mods (and freakin' admins no less!) so i hope we can pull ourselves out of this one.

The mini-mods, as you so nicely call them, have been getting on my nerves so much lately. I'm glad the mods are realizing this and are making a point to stop them. It's just so annoying getting told what to do by your so called peers.

no no no no no! It's not just your fault. I have to say I have been annoying lately. People have been getting on my nerves with the whole flamming of one person thing and things have been annoying me and even with this thread in place it doesn't seem like anyone cares. Things are getting worse and worse. But I am willing to say that I have helped the negitive additude get worse and worse. And I am truely sorry for that.

I would think its best to only report... and I am speaking for myself.. I do not know how all the other mods feel. Maybe they will post and give their view.. or maybe not. BUt you have mine :)

Well, our goal is going to be locking less and merging more. So if you see a thread that already has been started before, reply with the link to the thread and report the post so we can come merge it =)
i.e. something like "Hey there, this has already been discussed here" is cool but "Yo Jackass, use the f'ing search button..." is not ok :)

I used to be a deminazimod at a different forum that happens to not exist anymore. I like it when the mods just sort of leave everyone to their own ... I forgot the last word. Anyway, I haven't posted a lot, but I've been here a long time, and the mods, unlike some at other forums have actually participated in the actual message board, which is lovely. REMEMBER THE LITTLE PEOPLE!!!

I'm not sure, but I think you misunderstood that...
When the mods don't act like minihitlers, it's bad, but when they don't participate in the threads and messages normal members but up, it's just as bad.
We've had lots of interesting words...

we need our own dictionary.

I understand I run 2 forums myself one for Amy Rivard the
other for Mairead both with Celtic Woman. we have some great
members the post are Fantastic! I was blown away at how fast
the Mairead forum took off in hours it filled in.
