The best of the Seattle bands in their time. Nirvana was mindless noise, but Alice In Chains had layered harmonies and real quality to their music. It's quite ironic Layne died the same day as Kurt Cobain. Cut short by heroin, because he could still be making such amazing music today. But he was driven by the demon that killed him.

They've always been one of my favorite bands! Layne was an incredible vocalist and I really miss him and AIC.
This is one of my favorite verses ever! The way Layne sings it is so freakin' cool!...
"Knocked down but I have enough hate to breathe down your throat and steal your energy.
You took everything but my will to be.
Now the loss of your god won't make me bleed."

I have loved those tunes forever and have all their cd's. Jerry Cantrell grew up and has a house now less than an hour away from where I live in Oklahoma. Remember Boggy Depot? That's a real place right down the road from me. It was never a guess that Iokane and Kevin were Alice fans to me but I'm also shocked this is the 1st thread for te Chains.
"It Ain't Like That Anymooooooooore"

Mary, a girl I work with met Jerry Cantrell at "The Red Barn" In Durant, OK where I live last weekend. She said he was super nice.
