What do you guys think of him? Has anybody listened to his latest CD ("Waiting for my rocket to come")? I love it! And I'm in love with another of his songs I d/l called 0% Interest... that song is awesome!

TRICIA where does the unfairness end!?!? EH!? He looks so much like Hugh Grant and what's worse is that he was here only a week ago touring with Tracy Chapman and i had no idea, i feel like the only person in this country who knows about him! Show last night was AWESOME. He is a HELL of a singer. He needs to mix up the guitar work, but he said he hasn't been playing all that long so i guess we can forgive that. He is an amazing singer though.
You really dont get a feel for how good he is from the CD.

Nerea, no he didn't. He didn't have a band with him and he only did 5 songs. It was actually not a normal concert, it was a stuido audience for a filming of a radio show called etown. So it was 4 different artists and Jason was one of them. He played....

So I guess I will go see him (along with Shaggy and Jennifer Love Hewitt) on the recommendation of all you good folks... plus it's a $3 concert for chripes sake... :)

OMFG...Mraz OWNED. He played 2 and a half hours. My feet hurt, my back hurt, I was tired as hell, but that was one killer live show. Even if you HATE the album, you will LOVE his live show. He is by far one of the best performers I have ever seen.

I was flipping channels looking for the Brewers score when I turned on Headline News and they were starting an interview with Jason Mraz. He was just talking about the meaning behind "The Remedy", some of the stuff he does for the Make-a-Wish foundation, his tour, etc. It was actually a pretty cool segment. They said it was live, so *shrug*, I caught it I guess.

Yeah!! I met loads of Americans last night and this sweet american girl told me he had just walked straight by past her!! He was more than amazing, i have never seen anything like it- never in my whole life have i been more amazed by a performance! I got my CD signed and whenever he asked for requests i would call out songs and the american girls would help me- i got No Doubling Back, 1000 things and 0% Interest!! ooh and Did i Fool Ya!? WOW i am in love, lol.

yeah, I remember everyone talking about him and I saw the video one night and was like... that's a catchy little song. Then I got the email he is coming to Jacksonville on the 17th so I picked up the cd and well Andrew you should too!!
It's sad cause they don't play his song here. I know he has been selling out everywhere and I have a feeling that this place is going to be empty next Tuesday. But you know what? That is ok!! Let will be there in the front knowing all the words (well most of them) so more Jason and Maroon5 for me. Oh and Danny will be with me too but I think he is more about M5.

Let just shout out random songs and he'll play them! He's so amazing and clearly doesn't care if no-one even buys his CD, he played about 5 from WFMRTC in 2 hours and the rest were all requests and old ones. You are going to have the time of your life.

So I saw Jason and Maroon 5 last night.
AND I got to meet Jason, got an autograph and a picture! SUPER SWEET!
Being the webmaster for a local radiostation has SERIOUS advantages.
I'll post the picture up when I get it back.
He played most of the songs off of Waiting for my Rocket EXCEPT the one I wanted to hear most, "On Love, In Sadness". I was bummed about that, but he closed with Zero which was cool.
Does he play On Love, In sadness much? Anyone know? I've seen him twice and he hasn't played it either time now.
And Maroon 5 did a cover of NIN's closer, which as big funny.
Awesome show! Im sure you guys will enjoy seeing him!

NO! John Mayer isn't so much Jason Mraz. I think they can be compaired to Vanessa and Michelle, people got them confussed at first...But their totally different. I think "The Remedy" is similar to John Mayer, but from the other things I heard I don't think he is too much....

I've only heard his one song or seen one video. He just has that old t-shirt with hair 1/2 grown out look and plays guitar. That's the only reason I compared him to John Mayer. :-)))

Hes not country at ALL. He's got a strong Folk influence (which can be confused with country if you dont know the diff) and a STRONG hip hop influence. He's closer to Ani Difranco than John Mayer in music style but his look and lyrics are more John Mayer so I see the comparison there.
You like hip hop and industrial (LP) but not hip hop and folk (Mraz)?

I got the cd at Walmart 2day and it is sooooooooooooo good!!! F' all that country sayin' shite! The cd is tastey! I was shocked for $9 bucks! Actually cost has nothing to do with good honest music but man the 1st song and #5 and so many others kick ass, besides the single!

I figured since Milwaukee just falls off the chair and starts drooling for Beyonce that Mraz wouldn't have a chance in the world, but his song actually won for the second night in a row (it was the Champion from Wed night). I was impressed, not a bad song.

I agree Jason is awesome!!! I just found out bout him a few weeks ago from some girl on a josh kelley messageboard and I fell in love the second i heard him. I really love this style of music. I was really glad that he didn't do the country version of "You and I Both" this time. I love how each show is different and uses different tempos to the songs. He did a lot of new stuff and other stuff I wasn't familiar with but it was still cool.

I think I just remembered the cover Jason did, Danny correct me if I am wrong. It was "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" by Hall and Oats. He just sang (if I remember correctly) the others played. It reminded me of my mom she used to play them all the time.

You Jason Mraz fans got lucky!! This week it totally reversed the patern it was going in and gained 112 plays and moved up from #41 to #36..So it could still flop, but it's up to you to call your local stations and request it or else it probably will not even reach #30..

OMGOSH!!!!! the concert was amazing and i got to meet him before the show!! its the weirdest, coolest, and funniest story as to how i met him. Well, my friend and i got to the place where the concert was really early. im talking like 5 and a half hours and we already had reserved seating. So we were just wondering around outside the building and we decided to go upstairs to the "garden level" and just look around. Well we get up there and see a camera, so we're like hmmm, so we go that way and Jason Mraz is right there!!! right next to us!! i couldnt believe it. i was shaking. So we asked if when they were done if we could get a picture and they were like of course! so He signed our shirts and took a picture with us and he was extremly nice!!! It was amazing. I practically just ran into Jason Mraz! i cant believe it still! Heres the picture of me with him (im on the left, my friend Nelly is on the right)

then about an hour after we met him i had to use the restroom, so we just walked inside a random door of the building that was left open and i found a bathroom and used it. then i realized we were in the concert hall. so we snuck in (avoiding gaurds) and got to watch his sound check!!! it was so amazing! and all of this happened before the concert even started. The concert was awesome as well. SOO beautiful! i love Jason!!

Track 6 - Clockwatching – This is the first song we knew would be on the record and Steve’s favorite from the get go. It was the most difficult to record. Dennis (otherwise known to all as the merch guy) and Scottish songwriter-friend, Ainslie Henderson and I wrote this together on a retreat in Wyoming about a year before the record was made. We did the whole thing with programmed beats and vocal delays and making it a fun sonic tribute to the Cure and other 80’s sound-a-likes. I composed the words from an assortment of scrap-book raps and fresh ideas from my drive from...

Tricia and I saw him last week with Alanis. He arm was in a sling and he was only able to play on a few of the slower tunes cause he has insurance and is on meds. haha. (he had this other guy playing for him and Toca was there). He did mostly new stuff which I am not familiar with but graced us with "You and I Both" and of course "The Remedy." I love it too!! I like it better than his previous studio album. Mraz will always be better live, but I was quite impressed by this CD. I LOVE Clockwatching :D I'd already heard the live versions Please Don't Tell Her, Life Is Wonderful, Mr. Curiosity, Bella Luna, Forecast, Did You Get My Message, Plane and Geek In The Pink and in general I like them better on the CD (except for Mr. Curiosity, I preferred the more upbeat version he did live) I really hope he does well.

My friends talked me into getting the album today cuz we all love Mraz.. & I love this album! It was so funny cuz we were listening to his cd in the car & some of his lyrics are crazy.. then all of a sudden we hear that opera part & we're like 8O wtf?! & I started cracking up so hard. It was funny, but it's growing on me. My fave song is Geek in the Pink, haha.

I saw Jason and his band perform in LA the night before the cd was released for a little cd release concert. I was very fron center and before the show i ran into him a few times, unfortunatly i didnt have my camera with me (but i did get pics of the concert if anyone wants to see i'd need help putting them up). He is just such an amazing guy, soo nice and geniune. He even remembered my name the next time i saw him and gave me smiles while performing. His new cd is just amazing! Everyone should buy it. I love him!!!!!!! :D

He's coming to Memphis in a couple of months. I don't know if I'm going, but if anyone's in the area, I think tickets are only like $18 or so.

Anyone else as excited he actually put this song on an album and is finally releasing it? Wow though, should have released it in summer I think. Such a pretty song, but I kind of prefer the older purely acoustic version without that other guy (err forgetting his name) singing backup.
