it's a fair way off yet, January 2006, but I'm goin 2 America on an exchange thing 4 3 weeks n i stay wit a host family 4 like, 10 days or sumthin. any Nessaholics out there who live in seattle, pheonix or san diego, i could stay wit u! it would b soo cool 2 stay wit sum1 who is as obbsessed wit Nessa as me. so, ne1 wanna hav me in there house 4 10 days? hehe, the joys

Australian English not US English; I have both on XP's Language bar here
Also abbreviation is an accepted form of communication here so the use of
phonetic substitutes i.e. 4 instead of for - it's more common than you think

I dunno, maybe that is an acceptable thing for you, but I would think that if you are requesting something from someone, like she was, you would want to speak in better grammar... Maybe that is just me though.

You can say whatever you want. Keep the thread titles clean. Don't over do it. We're being nice now, but the nazi mods will emerge if need be. Oh yeah, if English is your first language, please make sure you type like it. There's no need 4 u 2 talk like that. Gratuitous and intentional misuse of the language bugs us.
It being common just makes it THAT much more irritating.
I appreciate the request, but I'm going to have to agree that it could be worded better.

1st) Please proof read your posts prior to submitting them. You don't have to be an English major but don't purposely bastardize the English language. "How r u doing 2 day?" or "|-|3y +h3r3" does not make you look cool, it just annoys the Mods

It's nothing personal, and it's definitely not the end of the world. The incorrect spelling of cities is no problem, I can't spell most of the time either. It's just that the "r", "u", "ne1", "hav", "wit" stuff makes posts a nightmare to read. If there wasn't a rule against it, then loads of people would be doing it and it would just get out of control.
