I said C'est La Vie because it's been my favorite since i first heard the acoustic version, but Private Radio is right up there with it. Next is The Wreckage.

Swap "Afterglow" for "San Fransisco" and that's exactly what I'd say :)
Private Radio is easily the best for in the car or on the train/bus. It's a great driving song :)

This entire album owns me. But I voted for Who's To Say because I think it's her best on the album in so many ways. Private Radio though is probably my favorite to listen to. Just love that song.

Wow... that's a tough one. Probably The Wreckage. But I love WH, Who's to Say, Annie, Afterglow, Private Radio, and Winter. lol I'm not too good at making up my mind, obviously. Although, Afterglow has been my favorite VC song (after All I Ask, but that doesn't count lol) ever since the first time I heard it a few months ago.

I just love how she says "gotta get a little." It sounds so mischevious. Like you can just picture her doing this evil little grin she does sometimes. Like in the candies add....

In all fairness, artists rarely repeat a song like Twilight. Most female singer/songwritters I listen to have their 1 ballad that really stands out above the rest.
For Tori it's Silent All These Years. For Fiona it's Never is a Promise. Michelle Branch has Leap of Faith. For Ani DiFranco it's Overlap. etc etc.
I am also thuroughly enjoying San Francisco.

Yeah, most bands/artists have a fans favourite. They're usually from the first album too. I think Twilight is definitely Vanessa's. It'll be one she plays at every live show from now until she stops touring.

Who's to Say San Fran and White Houses ... becuase now that I've settled down about them, you can easily play guitar to these songs, and feel part of the action ...
Annie and Afterglow, Winter because ... they push all the right buttons ... they are just emotionally charged, and sound right.
Private Radio ... I LOVE PR ....
@ Andrew ... hell yeah ... you can so hear the mischieviousness in the song ... :-) She dares you to take it differently, but you can't becasue who's saying it's some sort of "bad" connitations ... no no! :-) LOL
So I can't say my FAVOURITE. :-( All of the Above maybe?

I like afterglow.
I like Twilight too.
They both have similar themes, but
given sunrise or sunset, I find sunRISE to be far more inspirational.
When I watch the sun rise over water, it's then I feel alive and like I want to accomplish things, and be a better person.
it's a new day that holds so much promise and possiblilities!
Like I can accomplish anything!
Whereas sunset, twilight, I find depressing. Like the day is finished, and I have to wait til the next for anything to be done.

Actually I agree with you both. Dusk always reminds me of the years me and my friends spent down at the park playing football (soccer) until there simply wasn't enough light left. Good times :) I much prefer it.

Sunrise in australia when the sun rises over the water.
There is intitially a complete absence of light,
the light then starts to infiltrate the sky,
you can see the clouds are ALWAYS horizontal lines parallel with the horizon,
the sky changes to RED ... BLOOD RED ... it's incredible.
And then you see the tip of the sun and as it rises, yeah the clouds become whispy and they start to part and move away, until you can actually see the sun getting higher and higher until it is SITTING on the horizon.
By then the sky is completely light and everything ...
Hullo ... Rosie was showing me some pics yesterday of near her house, and OMG I can't wait to go to England. I'd give up the sun and sky.

It's Twilight all over again. I NEVER played Twilight even though it WAS and still IS one of my favourites.
But it's ok, because everytime I hear it, I still feel the same as I did the first time ... so it hasn't lost an of it's emotion.
They are not JUST songs ... that have music and lyrics ...
They have a life, and a heart and a soul, and they come to life in their own right.
