Do you have one? Who are they? And why? It doesn't have to be a romantic couple, it can be a couple of friends or whatever. Mine would be:

I know many people who watched DC ended up hating Dawson (or did from the beginning) and became P/Jers... traitors! Nah, j/k. This was possibly the first couple I absolutely loved on TV cos it all goes back to 1998 when I first watched Dawson's Creek. Even if they didn't end up together (*cough*HUGE mistake*cough*) they'll always be one of my favourites. They've had some of the most powerful moments I have seen on TV - and I haven't even seen them all!

Because they're lobsters and lobsters mate for life! :wink: Them ending up together sort of makes up for the disappointment that was the way Dawson's Creek ended. I haven't watched the last episodes of Season 10 yet though
Lately I've also discovered Seth & Summer (The OC) and Ephram and Amy (Everwood), even though I don't get to see Everwood as much as I'd like to - they treat the show very badly here and randomly stop airing it only to air 3 episodes in a row the next week :?

See, when they become "couples" it kills the show. All shows. They are always better when it's just sexual tension.
If Clark and Lana or Clark and Chloe ever become a couple they must immediatly kill Lana/Chloe or end the show. Otherwise the show will just die terribly.
Friends went down hill when Ross and Rachel hooked up.
The creek went down hill when Joey and Dawson finally hooked up.
90210 started it's slow descent when Brenda and Dylan became a couple.
Think about all the great dramas..... when the key couple ends up together, the show loses what made it great.

In addition to Seth and Ryan on OC, I love Jenny and Tim on the L Word, Bianca and Maggie on All My Children, Buffy and Riley on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Mike and Susan on Desperate Housewives. I watch too much TV.

@BV - and look what happened to that show when Daphne and Niles finally hooked up? Big kersplat. I tell you, it never fails. Writers use the big hookup as their way to rejuvenate a failing show.

I agree with Andy when the couples get together .. it's just... meh ...
Kills of the suspense .. you're happy for one episode, but then .. it's all predicatable ..
My favourite couples are .. well not really a single couple, but all the various combinations of Will and Grace :-) ... Will and Grace, Will and Jack, Karen and Jack ... Karen and Grace .. Jack and Grace .. well they don't actually interact so much ...
but yeah, fun fun
Favourite dramatic couple .. Jack and Jill .. I know I know it's old .. but you know, I still like the dynamics of it .. kinda crazy kinda sane ...

that show bugs me. I started watching it in 8th grade. I'm now a freshman in college. the SAME plot line is still.happening. even for a soap opera, that's weak. :-P

Agree on Willow and Tara, though tragic--wish they didn't kill her off. I actually liked Angel and Cordelia though they were never really a couple.
Ditto on passions being caca. and the comment about it having the same plot lines...right on. Ridiculous. that is why it's over now! To extend on the soap couples, I love Jason and Sam on GH (early years, no so much anymore)

ok so I change my mind. The ultimate couple were Luke and Lorelai. I am really sad that Gilmore Girls ended when it did and they totally should have made a movie because the fans deserved a Luke and Lorelai wedding!
