Okay...so V has written a buncha songs that haven't been released, and may never get released....but hypothetically speaking...what do you guys think she should do...
these are the songs:

Same here. I think it would be strange to put them all on one CD, a lot of them are all really old... but realistically, we're prolly gonna get option 3, heh heh.

Pearl Jam did a "Lost Dogs" CD not long ago, similar idea, it sold pretty well. I'd love to get that from Vanessa.

that's kind of what I was thinking....wait a few years, until she has a few more albums out already, then release sort of a greatists hits or "Lost Dogs" type of CD.

You know, silverchair did that with all of their b-sides... didn't work out, cause the songs weren't that great to fill up a whole album, so I chose for option 2. Probably also better for her recordsells... :wink:

I asked her about them back in London, she said maybe after the second album it would be fun to release a 'Lost Songs' album but that was 2 years ago, and her thoughts may well've changed by now.

nothing. I love her unreleased stuff but I would hate to hear her remake some of them into studio versions and distroy them...kinda like c'est la vie.

Well, in a way he kinda did. I mean you could look at it like this: John Lennon and Elvis Presley are dead, but they're not "dead". People still know them, their music and influence carry on, and every day somebody new comes to know them. And look at all the great authors who have passed on; their works still come to life in the imaginations of new readers year after year. How are any of us to know, but Vanessa could just as easily become the symbol of a major movement as anyone else from an iron worker to a politician. Do you see where this is going? :wink:

Carnival - Remade into Dark Carnival and released as extra content on a Video Game., although the original song is very good, and i personally would like it put on an album. im afraid that Carnival will never be played live, or re-made again, because it was re-made to Dark Carnival.

Import, eh? I hate when someone throws that on me! The problem I have with singles is that they're almost always limited release and extremely limited availability, and so they don't circulate well among fans, let alone non-fans. But I guess you're right about "Swindler" seeing release somewhere, somehow. I'm with Vanessa, however, and I believe it should make an album. :D

There's always talk about it, and if she ditches Label x and goes elsewhere, it could be a greater possibility. I think a more understanding, more enthusiastic label would be more likely to nod that kind of project in.

She could always make recordings and send them out as singles to fans that help out with various stuff like promotions, street team and the like. With signed one of a kind cover art; just some doodle or such. Then later do something else with them like the above suggestions. Just an idea.
