Words can not describe the way that I feel about this musician and group. I have been a fan for about 8 years now and I see many more years in the future. Despite what people think, MM has a great message. MM has taught me to be myself and embrace who I am. Also, I have learned that I am just as good as anyone else. Their bark is louder than their bite. Many people just form opinions on them due to their image. The people that do this are certainly missing out on a wonderful and talented group. If you take the time to hear the music and read the interviews, you will be surprised. MM is a smart and articulate man and has impressed many with his interview in the movie, Bowling for Columbine.
Their performances are also amazing. I have been to 11 different shows with about 15 different people. 14/15 said they really enjoyed the show and they would gladly go back for more.
They have a new CD coming out on May 13th. If you have an open mind, check out their other albums and/or possibly buy the new album once it is released.
This is my MM tattoo! I finally met MM on 9/20 and 9/21 for the first time. I had him sign my right thigh and I had it tattooed on. I now have a memory of one of the best days of my life.

lucky for you.... new CD means TOUR! You should really go check them out! Its worth every cent that you pay! Just thinking about their tour has me very excited. I'm looking forward to it.

yes I happened to like Twiggy a lot. Tim seems to be pretty cool though. Twiggy joined A Perfect Circle about 2 months ago or maybe more. I can't really remember.

I didn't think to ask this before, but what kind of car was that in your music video "Tainted Love" ??? I never thought to actually pay attention to those little details before, because the music you make is so kick-ass I dont pay any attention to anything but the music... Oh yeah... It was a Lincoln from1969 and I kept it for a bit. One day I even drove all by myself and jumped up and down (hydraulics) at the stoplight while I was next to an elderly couple from Florida. A hubcap came off. It is gone now.

The new CD is awesome. My favorite track is "Slutgarden". You should try to find it somewhere. Its a very sexy song.

I like all music. Actually, I've been listening to Manson since "Antichrist Superstar" in '96.
I'm not gonna go all out and say I'm a goth or an anti-christ, and I'm not gonna go knock off a couple of bullies at my school. I like his music.

I have to say that he straight out scares me- he really does. I saw him on Fanatic and it just seems like he's a damaged boarding school boy, nonethless thousands like his music so they can't be wrong and nikkee i truely respect your opinions- his music just really isn't for me.
oh and i was never able to work out whether they were a band or whether he was a solo singer or ack! Isn't there another band just called Manson or sth? please explain!

the band is called Marilyn Manson. Because the two people that talked about the most in the 60s were Charles Manson and Marilyn Monroe.
Brian Warner is the lead singer. There was some talk of him changing his name to Marilyn Manson, but I dunno. nikkee may can tell you about that.

the band used to be called "Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids". The band name was too long so they dropped most of it to just "Marilyn Manson". So Marilyn Manson is the name of the artist and the band as well. Each band member has a stage named that consisted of good and evil. The first name being that of a famous woman who was usually a model. The last name was of a serial killer.
Marilyn Monroe + Charles Manson = Marilyn Manson
Madonna + John Wayne Gacy = M.W. Gacy also known as "pogo"*
Ginger + Albert Fish = Ginger Fish
Those are the names of the current members remaining in the band that still have the traditional stage name.
*Pogo is the name John Wayne Gacy used when he dressed up as a clown to entertain the kiddies.

Notes: First in Most Increased Plays with +360, the fifth Most Added song with 7 adds.
ALTERNATIVE :
"Mobscene" enters the Alternative chart top 50 at #33 this week with 558 plays. Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong" maintains at #1 with 3187 plays.

Like Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, he became immortal by dying. A dead rock star becomes perfect, and he’ll be that forever. He’ll never change, never get old, never turn into something less great than at his peak, at the moment of his death.
It’s not just death that turns you into an icon. It’s how many people are watching when you die, and the way the camera can turn you into a martyr. I had a song on my last record called "Lamb of God" about just that. It was inspired by Jesus, John Lennon and John Kennedy. We’re not just fascinated with death. We’re in love with death, because we’re so afraid of it. And the people who live their lives close to death, or who die tragically, are the ones we’re going to fantasize about the most. It is escapism, it’s voyeurism, it’s escapism, it’s voyeurism, it’s living vicariously. Or dying vicariously.
Jim Morrison had a shamen quality to him; he was a shirtless Christlike figure. He was inspiring. He bought darkness into the mainstream, right in the middle of the Summer of Love. He did and said what he wanted, and he behaved like a child, which is admirable and beautiful. I have Jim Morrison to thank for making me want to write, and for making me want to take acid, and for making me want to expose myself in Florida.
I remember reading "No One Here Gets Out Alive" when I was in the tenth grade, and that made me want to write. I have always, since I was a fourteen years old, written thing in my journals, and have always been very protective of things that I put down in paper. I have a hard time committing my personal feelings and my deepest, darkest secrets to a place where someone will be able to obtain them.
Morrison’s enduring strength as a historical figure is in his mystery. I think the modern, contemporary treatment of rock stars on MTV and the voyeuristic world of reality TV are a great threat to anyone who wants to retain any sort of value throughout history. My whole life, I have tried to steer clear from "behind the scenes" things. They take away from the power of what you do. If you start explaining your tricks, then you are a shitty magician. I’m watching all these other people piss away what could be great works of art by going on "Cribs". You can be legendary for not doing anything because of this voyeuristic culture that we live in. You can be famous for "surviving" something, or for marrying a millionaire, or for being a victim of a crime. It’s a strange time that we are in now.
With Jim Morrison, it’s the dark sexual element. You want to grow up to be like him. With Kurt Cobain, it’s about relating to his pain and understanding how close death’s door is. When I was just about to start a band in 1989, I was still a journalist, and I got a promo pack from Sub Pop records with Bleach and a black-and-white glossy photo of Nirvana. There was something really dark and alluring about the record. And that feeling hits you every time you hear one of their songs. You can hear a tear in his voice, the pain going on there.
When Cobain died, no one was very much surprised. I was disappointed, but I think a part of me was relieved because it seemed like he was suffering so much in the last years of his life, and his suffering was over, if anything. He despised being the rock star he ended up being. But like Morrison and Hendrix, he was proof that the most amazing art comes from people who are living their lives like there is no tomorrow.

I once attended a great Marilyn Manson concert. Of course I never expected to attend a concert by this group. I had once promised my best friend that I would go to a MM concert with her if they ever came to town. Naturally, they came to NYC and there I found myself up on the balcony looking down at throngs of loyal fans, pumping their fists in the air at all of the right spots during the music, and I kind of wished I knew when to pump my fist in the air too. It was a lovely concert. Marilyn Manson’s performance was full of a lot of energy and it reflected the energy of the concertgoers. One of the things I enjoyed most about the concert was the stage props the group used for its songs. The other highlight of the concert was getting to stare at a very delectable fellow sitting to the left of us. If memory serves me correctly, he was wearing a spiked collar and stood motionless throughout the concert, with a drink in his hand. He was quite yummy and I hope to see more of him at any future MM concerts that I attend.

Just saw him being interviewed by Jonathan Ross at the BBC. I once heard MM cuts his nipple at every show..., so I was quite excited when he went on stage to perform Obscene..., but no nipples flew around the stage!..., kinda disappointing. Did you see him on Conan last night?!?! It wasn't the re-run....but
Conan was doing a bit, and he said something about NBC having secret security camera's in the dressing rooms...Then he said that some footage of him and Andy Rickter had surfaced from back when Andy and MM were on the show...And so it showed Conan and Andy and some dude, and the other dude leaves, and then Andy hopes on Conan and it looks like their making out on the couch...Then it goes back to Conan and he says it gets more disturbing than that...It was MM's dressing room he said...
So then it showed him and Conan still making out on the couch and MM walks in, and says "Guys this is my dressing room!" And Conan says "We know!" and MM says Okay and jumps on top...

ok, i dont know if i posted in this thread before, but i dont care im going to post again.
just the other day at school, in 1st period we watched like 5 minutes of bowling for columbine, the part where they showed footage from inside the school.
later on in the day, me & 2 friends were talking about it, and one mentioned how people were saying that marylin manson's music influenced these kids, or whatever.
i told them that i like MM, and they were like oh, god, no, just stick to VC...
we dont want you to go on a shooting rampage.. etc..
and i was like.. ummm, no... music doesnt influence me in that way..
but you know... it makes you think..

The new album sucks. What the fuck is up with all the retarded misplaced guitar solos.
I've been really unimpressed with Manson, especially in regards to his handling of his divorce with Dita, whom I adore. Manson had sex with Evan Rachel Wood (Who's also happens to be 19 years old) in his music video for Heart Shaped Glasses on his marital bed he shared with Dita.
I mean, what the hell Manson. He's just turned himself into a whiney victimised twat with this record. He needs to get over himself already.

The notion of Dita trying to "control" Manson is just his side of the story. There's two sides to a coin. In the end it comes down to who's side story you choose to believe, but with Manson's recent actions I feel little sympathy for his pity play.
Dita filed for divorce AFTER christmas, on December 29th. The papers just happened to be served to him at his studio on his birthday, she didn't walk up to him with the papers on his birthday personally out of spite, she wasn't involved with timing of the papers being served.

Just so everyone perfectly knows, Dita wants nothing from Manson. She's moving on with her life, she isn't seeking any money or spousal support from Manson. She's tried to leave him in peace.
Manson is the one making a spectacle out of the divorce, and using publicity from it to drive album sales. And obviously completely disrespecting Dita in the process by fucking a 19 year old girl on their marital bed for everyone to see.
This interview with Dita is a REACTION from her in regards to what Manson has been doing and handling the divorce, in no way is she seeking publicity to further her own ends. She states in the interview that she and Manson actually agreed to make the divorce as private as possible, and then he went behind her back and started to freely discuss it in interviews and portray Dita as some controlling vixen.
Seriously, give me a break.

I always thought his music had an interesting sound and his videos were always interesting as well, but I'm not sure I could get into it on a daily basis and have it rotating in my car a lot- where I usually listen to music. He seems like a really intelligent guy who is, like Megan said, trying to push people's buttons and make them think what they will stereotypically think despite the fact that in almost every interview and whatnot he seems pretty decent, even if really odd. His artwork is very cool, too.
I think it's sad that some kids try to imitate him and sometimes take his actions as serious, when it comes across more as irony a lot to me. But I don't know really.

Me & a couple friends were at a mall yesterday I think in Hot Topic, and one of them picked up one of his books (or book if he only has one), the one with all the pictures in it to look at them. and wow it pretty much scared the crap out of me lol. You have a decent read on him. He is pretty brilliant and multi-talented. I started to listen to him when I was in High School and it was nothing but positive. The message that I got from him was to be content being myself. It also allowed me to release some teenage anger! haha :)
From what I hear... the new album is almost complete. What a thrill! :)
I do miss Madonna Wayne Gacy a.k.a. Pogo being in the band. :/ It should be interesting that Wes Borland, formally of Limp Bizkit has joined as guitarist. Twiggy is back on bass too!
