I just downloaded an emulator to play oregon trail because I came in contact with a facebook group called... "I Just Tried To Ford the River and My Fuckin Oxen Died" and it just reminded me of my childhood playing games like this...

Such happy memories :P
Yeah, I played Yukon trail... is that the one you're talking about???
-
Oh, I remember that game! I used to play it all the time in elementary school during computer class. I would always have to be the doctor...yet ironically I always ended up dying of typhus. Must not have been a very good doctor if I couldn't even save myself
-
Haha, I used to like to be the doctor... but in the original version I was playing you can only choose from Banker, Carpenter or Farmer...
-
The hunting was the best part of the whole game

Hunting was the bomb lol.

yeah, but it was always crap because you'd shoot the near-1000 pound buffalo and only be strong enough to carry 100 damn pounds back to the wagon. weakling! (like i should talk, haha!)

YEAH! Lets see you pull a 1,000 pound buffalo back to the wagon .
-
i never said i could pull the full 1000 pounds! and I did say "Like i should talk" because I probably couldn't even pull the 100. But I want big strong men in my party! Like crapbag and jesus! They should be able to pull at least 100 each!

oh it was much more than a show my friend. much more. It was the best computer game in the history of computer games EVAR. A 4th grade geography/history nerd's utopia of computer games.

Like the new name of the thread?? I don't ever remember Finders Keepers... but GUTS, yeah, that was another show I wanted to be on. I woulda kicked everyone's asses. The girls they had on that show were so wimpy. They always got 3rd place in like all the games. I coulda done better than that, I know it. The announcer lady Moira... I loved her accent :P

Man I use to LOVE when Carmen Sandiago came on PBS. In 6th grade, we did a mock Carmen Sandiago show. I wanted to audition for the role of 'Nana Rap, but i didn't get there in time
