Guess The Announcement Date of Vanessa Carlton's Next Single!
While we are all waiting anxiously to find out which song will be Vanessa's new single, we here at NESSAholics.com figured that it would be fun (and rewarding for you) to engage in a contest of guessing the announcement date of Vanessa Carlton's next single.
The Rules:
1. We are guessing the announcement date of the new single. This means that you are guessing the date we find out from either: A&M, a post by Vanessa, or an accredited web source [MTV.com, VH1.com, VC.com, radio station website, etc.], what the new single will be. It does not matter to this contest when the single is to be released, but when we are told what the single will be. There has to be visual proof of a date the information was posted, and the post must contain information about what the single will be to win the contest.
2. Only one date submission per poster.
3. Dates are first come, first serve. This post will be edited with information about who has picked which date, so there is no confusion. You may reply in the thead below with your date guess.
4. Each date can only be guessed once. If you guess a date someone else has already selected, you may guess a different date.
What the winner gets:
The person who wins this contest by guessing the correct single announcement date will get an 11inx17in Harmonium poster signed by Vanessa Carlton!
The poster says: "for my nessaholic, peace Vanessa Carlton (in the trademark VC squiggle, of course)." A scan of the poster is coming soon.
...Ready, set, guess away! We could receive word about what the new single will be any day now, so make sure to get in your guess early ;).

It will have to be taken into deliberation if anyone wins :wink:. I think that because we were given the news about a single on a day (even though the news was no new single), that to me counts as an announcement... so we will have to discuss 8).

Errr no it doesn't? It says the announcement is for what the new single will be or the date the new single will be released. That doesn't count in negation.

After some deliberation, it has been decided that we will send out two signed posters.
Rosieposy87 (http://forums.nessaholics.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=179) was correct in that there will be no second single, and thus there will never be an announcement of a second single, so she is a winner.
Also, saphire (http://forums.nessaholics.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=608) guessed that on May 7th there would be an announcement for the new single, and while the announcement made was that there will be no new single, it is still technically an announcement. In trying to be fair to everyone, saphire will recieve a poster, also.

Umm... William has not been able to attend any Vanessa concert, owns all her albums (plus a few imports, for good measure), but lacks any autographed schtuff. He would be a very deserving recipient of the aforementioned poster. :)

You can't buy it anywhere. Hence the: it hasn't been "commercially released." If you got a collection of all the songs on it, though, you could burn it and that's how you could have your own copy.

The problem is that not all of the songs were even completed. I have the following songs from Rinse:
01 Ordinary Day
02 Carnival
03 Superhero
04 Rinse
05 Pretty Baby
07 Interlude (incomplete demo only)
10 All I Ask
12 Twilight
As far as I or anyone else knows, those are the only songs from Rinse in existence, so if you have those, you effectively have as complete a copy of Rinse as possible.
06 Wanted, 08 Paradise, 09 Sway, and 11 Prince aren't known to have ever been completed, if recorded at all.

The reason why Rinse is incomplete is because the ripper only got ahold of a cassette. This cassette happened to be damaged in a spot and no songs were salvagable there. Originally, All I Ask was not included. The reason why we have All I Ask and not any of the other songs in the gap is that someone was able to obtain the track from another source.

I have to be very appreciative of whoever it was that got "All I Ask" out to us, because thanks to them, one of the most beautiful Vanessa recordings in existence is seeing the light of day. :D
