I meant to post about Kristin Hoffmann (http://www.kristinhoffmann.com) a while ago so I apologize for not getting the info to you sooner.
I saw her back in June when she opened for The Wallflowers.
Kristin is from NYC and has just signed with Interscope (I warned her about them :wink: ) Kristin's newest CD "Real" is scheduled to be released to online digital music providers September 20th!! and to retail stores on January 17, 2006.
I was able to meet her and pick up her self-released album "Divided Heart" at the show and I absolutely love it!! Not to mention she was really sweet.

My favorites are "Bittersweet" and "Falling." I don't want to say she sounds like someone else but other people say she sounds like Fiona Apple, and Sarah.
Take a listen and tell me what you think. I really think you all will like her music. She is filled with so much emotion which comes out so passionately in her songs and piano playing.

I remember checking out her stuff when you initially posted about her over on the Anna board. I was talking to Vulture about her the other night, when I had some random MP3's in my music folder and I didn't know who they were. I was like "If they were bad I'd just delete them, but they're not!" :lol:
It will be interesting to see what Interscope does with her.

I absoutely love "Divided Heart" and the new stuff is even better. :)
"Bittersweet" the piano is great yet simple. It just has a feel to it. It's so dynamic, and emotional.

So tonight I went to San Francisco to see Kristin Hoffmann at the Hotel Utah Saloon.
I got there early cause I thought there would be more traffic. I was waiting for Tylor at the bar and I could hear Kristin was doing her sound check, it sounded great, by the way.
So, I am sitting at the bar, I look over and Kristin is walking toward me. I said hi, she said hi back. As she walked passed me she stopped, turned around and said, "You look very familiar." I said, "I'm Let." She said, "I knew it" and gave me a big hug. She said she had to grab some stuff, I offered my assistance but she said she was ok.
She came back, and sat down next to me. We chatted for a good hour or more over dinner. We talked about her new album, "Real" which will be released off of Interscope, (I did warn her about them and their lack of promotion) and will be available digitally on Tuesday, September, 20th. She said that she wished she had one so she could give it to me. I told her that was really sweet of her but I will be sure to dl it on Tuesday. We talked about her single and how it hasn't been picked yet. I told her that my favorite songs off of "Divided Heart" are, "Temple" and "3 O'Clock in the Morning." I added that I didn't think she would do it. She said that she hadn't practiced it but maybe she could do it. We chatted about other artists, her website, her tour, my job, etc. etc. It was great.
I had invited Katia to come but I hadn't hear from her. As I was telling Tylor that it didn't look like she was going to make it, there she was at the door. I was very excited that she made it. It meant a lot to me.
So the place is very tiny, which is always great. She sounded amazing. She did some old tunes from "Divided Heart" and some from the new album and a few others I didn't know but sounded beautiful. It was time for the last song and she said, "This is the last song, I haven't practiced it, it's "3 O'Clock in the Morning, and it's for Let." Oh man, I was so touched, I could almost cry.
After the show, she gave me a big hug and I told her she was great and thanked her for the dedication. She said it was great cause she could look over and see me singing along. We chatted a bit more and then said goodbye until next week, when she will be back, yay!!

So her new album, "Real" is wonderful. I really think you all will enjoy it. Her music is so powerful. The way her emotions come through in her songs reminds me of Vanessa but clearly not the same.

Awe, thanks. I have wonderful friends! I think of the 22 comments she has so far, only 7 aren't from friends of mine. Well, now she's your friend too. She really is a sweetheart, pretty cool too.

A new show added. Kristin will be opening for Howie Day on Sunday, Nov 6th at 8PM at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, NY. Doors open at 7PM and tickets are $16 or $18 the day of the show.

Tonight there is a free show at World Cafe Live at 9pm!! There is another show there on the 18th that I will be at as well as Joe's Pub on the 19th. I would love to see the NY/PA people! Here's a cool thing she is doing with Joe's Pub.
Kristin recently put together a "Bootleg" CD which includes recordings of "Rain," "Like Spinning Plates," and "A Case of You," live standards that are not included on either "Divided Heart" or "Real." She will be giving out signed copies of the "Bootleg" to everyone that buys tickets ($12) in advance via Telecharge (http://www.telecharge.com/behindTheCurtain.aspx) who present their Telecharge receipt at the merchandise table the night of the show.

Sorry Laura! How do you think I feel. These people are killing my wallet. Just kidding I am glad to do it. She and I had a great time in NYC/PA last weekend. She is really a beautiful person and amazing artist.
You should definitely, if you haven't yet dl "Real" it's an amazing album. Kristin is going to be here on Saturday and has total of 3 shows. They are trying to get something booked for the LA area and I will let you know if she does. Hopefully it will be an all ages venue.
She is totally addicted to MySpace so please add her as a friend if you haven't yet and we would love for you to join Life As It Is (http://groups.myspace.com/lifeasitis) she posts there and I hope to get a lot of cool inside pictures, and things going on there as well.
Not sure if you have done your "Kristin" homework but "Mary" was on "Dawson's Creek" a few years back. Katia said she just saw the episode last week.
I think I said this before but I had never heard Radiohead's "Like Spinning Plates" but Kristin's is just fantastic!! It does work well on your page, haha.

Hey, I don't think I will be able to catch her when she comes down here, at least this time cuz I seriously can't go to anymore concerts till at least sometime next year. But maybe if she tours again next year I'll think about going. I still have the Kelly one to go to haha I'm wearin' myself out on concerts this year.
And I just added her the other night to myspace hehe. I changed my myspace song to "Mary" I dunno if you've seen my new layout that looks like falling snow but it goes pretty good with it, I love it!
And the album is out in stores right? Or do you have to download it? cuz I was gonna ask for it for Christmas.

I still hadn't heard that a LA date is set anyway. I know it's kinda far for you anyway.
Her CD isn't due out until 01.17.05. Interscope does have it released via digital download so you can get it that way. Her "Divided Heart" CD is available via CD Baby, (http://cdbaby.com/cd/khoffmann) Amazon etc. or you can dl it.
That works well on your page too, very cool. I am sure Krisitn appreciates it.

There is such a thing when your only a full-time college student haha :P but yea, LA is pretty far... you should try to convince her to play at Pechanga in Temecula, that's where Kelly is coming & it's only 15 mins away from me :D

Kristin's CD doesn't come out for another month but remember you can get it at itunes and such. Anyhow she's going to be in the new CBS show called "Love Monkey" she wrote a new blog about it.
I just got home from a day of taping for the new CBS show, "Love Monkey," which starts on January 17th! Last week they asked me to be a guest artist on an episode. So, bright and early this morning, I was picked up and taken to Brooklyn where they were filming a few scenes in the club, Galapagos. Although I've had a few songs in TV shows before, I've never been involved in the filming part, so it was a new experience! The main character in Love Monkey is a record exec, and he goes with friends to a music club one night, where I happen to be playing. They chose for me to play my song, "Rescue Me," an interesting pick. Most people would choose "Bittersweet," but the scene called for solo acoustic, so I guess "Rescue Me" made sense. It was a crazy experience to be on stage playing to a room full of extras and cameras! I think it's something you have to do a few times to get used to. I have to give kudos to the cast and crew today...I was amazed at the teamwork and how hard everyone worked to get about 10 minutes worth of film! All in all, it was a great day and I can't wait to see the end result! I'm not sure what episode I'm going to be in yet, but as soon as I know the date, I'll let everyone know.

uh oh... so I checked out that Teddy Geiger guy to find out why he's getting so many votes & I think I'm in love with his music & his voice now. It's all so back and forth. She was up by 80+ two different times of the day yesterday and then fell to only 39 up. Right now she is up by 100. But we have to keep surging foward.
Not sure where he got all his fans from. Who knew The New Partridge Family was so big, haha. I guess it's also an age thing. He's like 17 and she's not, her fans are older and don't spend as much time online, well except for me. :wink:

Hmm I just happened to be watching TRL, which I never do & they mentioned that Love Monkey is being cancelled before they showed that Teddy guys video...so are they still showing Kristin on there or are they pulling it before then? i'm so confused now. I was told that they got the official word about the cancellation of Love Monkey yesterday. I am still hoping that it will still air next week. I read it was because of The Amazing Race and this other show that made it get cancelled or put on the shelf and those shows start on the 28th so why can't they show the show scheduled for the 21st? So disappointing especially with the power of music on TV. *sigh*

KH's song "Rescue Me" will be appearing on "The Young and the
Restless" March 6th. They are playing a little over a minute of the
song. The song will air about 50 minutes into the hour long show. The show airs on CBS Television natonally and repeats on various cable outlets everywhere.

I saw Kristen tonight, I thought she did an amazing show.

Sweet thanks BWilli. She called me tonight and mentioned it was a great show not that I doubted her but thanks for sharing. I love when Premik plays with her. He was with her on The Wallflowers Tour (the first time I saw her) and I also saw him with her in Philly and the last Joe's Pub show.
She told me the name of the new song, well actually she said it doesn't have a name but what it would be called and I can't think of it. Maybe it will come to me. :roll:

yeah, it was great seeing Let again...Ivy had problems getting into the show, so we sat in my truck and had someone call us to listen to it...afterwards we all hung out with Let and Kristin. was unfortunate that they wouldn't let Ivy in, and I sure as hell wasn't gonna go in without her, but we made the best out of it, and had fun hangin with everyone afterwards
