Hmm.. I'm not sure if this is a stupid question, or if this is the right place to be asking it, but:

I was wondering what sheet-music-making program you guys use? I was thinking of buying one and I wanted to know which ones are best.

But can anyone transcribe a more accurate version of HAWBTW, b/c the songbook version sucks, b/c some of it follows the vocal melody, which I hate.

Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

It's not necessary. You can post the images, or zip/rar files with them... What you want, but it is a shame because it would have been better if you post them in the first messages. I recommend you to edit your post and put them there.

you know, whoever created these transcribsions, it would've been a lot more convenient if the lyrics were added along with the notes; it would make the song easier to learn.

WinRAR is a file-compressing utility. A necessary evil. If you have WinZip, get rid of it and use WinRAR instead. It does what WinZip does, only better.

Can someone point me to a sheet music transcribsion program, b/c I'm thinking about transcribing Keri Noble's 'Come And Talk To Me' and posting up here. It's mid-tempo, in Bb Major and very easy to learn by ear.

Does anyone know how to post songs from CD's to this forum? Because I want everyone to hear the song; it sounds great. Keri's also a lot like Norah Jones and Vanessa Carlton throw together.

I also forgot to mention that they played this song on 'The Young & The Restless' back in '04 in a scene with Nick and Sharon Newman. I thought it was Nora Jones when I first heard it. I absolutely love this song, and I play it over and over.

But thank you. I don't know how to get it up there, but I'll figure it out. I also hate the program b/c it's temporary, but I'll make do. I also want you to hear the retail version of 'Pretty Baby', you know, the version she plays live that everyone's making such a buzz about.

Where's the 'Other Sheet Music' thread?

As for Van's new song, if it's not a cover, then someone'll have to transcribe it first.

There was another sheet music thread a while back(The one saying "Piano sheet music for Harmonium." I wasn't sure if I should ask there or here for All Is Well.(Which isn't a cover, I don't believe.) And, yes, yes, of course transcribing it first.

There's only one problem with this arrangement; it had 7 flats. I know that it's in Ab Minor, which synonymous with G# Minor, which has only 5 flats. I notice that certain notes contain double flats, which mean that you go down a half step. It's not that I'm ignorant about key signatures, I'm and expert on it, [but I happen to be to time signatures, but that's a whole 'nother story...] but what about those who don't know as much about them? Someone even said that 'Papa' was in Eb Dorian, which isn't so; it's actually in Eb Minor, b/c that key has 6 flats.

hi, i don't know much about music theory
and i sometimes wonder why people are so obsessed with figuring out the right key of a song
isn't it, that every piece of music can be written down in any key
so it's just a matter of choossing a good one - probably a key, which causes less sharps & flats
at least that's what i do
but if i'm totally wrong and there's some great magic about all this, tell me

I am totally agree with you... Its not neccesary to figuring out the right key of a song... once you get the right notes.. its not neccesary to pick up the right key when you u know the notes

Well, I guess you're right, b/c I've went to several websites that sell CDs and so far, they have this version. The version of BNN that I have has the video [or original] version of Pretty Baby.

I once thought that this was the this tamer version of PB that didn't make the album b/c it wasn't commercial enough, but I'm starting to think that it's more recent. Vanessa [and Ron Fair] probably watered it down and wanted it up there b/c she played this version live and on her original demo. So my bad! I thought that no one had really heard of this version. I first heard it about a year ago now. So pardon my mistake. :)

The single/video/radio version came out later.  The original/album version wasn't commercial enuff so Ron Fair created an overproduced, double-tracked, fancy version for radio.  That's the version you hear in the radio.  The original version starts with the gentle high-hat.

Post by: VanessaPiana on February 25, 2006, 01:44:11 pm
That's strange. I got BNN through the mail [from BMG Music] in early September of '03, and it had the radio version of Pretty Baby up there, which is rather overproduced. But the original studio album version is prettier.

I guess the original version of pretty baby was the reward for going out there and supporting V early. :-P

Conflatulations! :D

I never have finished learning because I started going to school full-time and had to put my keyboard in the corner of the office. :?   If I ever finish this program and get me a better job, I do want to pick up piano again.

I have a keyboard and books to learn, I just need to sit down and do it. Once I do, I have trying these out to look forward to  :D

Ok, I'll add my transcriptions to this page as soon as I can. I have:

Afterglow
Papa
White Houses

And maybe I'll finish Annie...
I'm currently sorting them out and doing some minor editing. I've also got "Mad World" by Gary Jules if anyone wants it?

Here is the middle solo part for Half A Week Before the Winter that I actually started last May!! It's written in 12/8 time so the notes are easier to read than the edition in the Harmonium book which is in 4/4 time with tons of sixteenths and tied notes.

Hi, Baronessa. I've been thinkin' 'bout u, gurl. I knew you would post here again soon. Thank you for the transcribsions of HAWBFTW, b/c it's the song I want to most learn from HARMONIUM. [I already know The Wreckage, Papa, Who's To Say, Afterglow, White Houses, (both C and B Major versions) and bits of C'est La Vie and She Floats.]

I just want everyone to know that when you go to Musicnotes.com now that you can no longer sample-play anything up there anymore; they've done away with that system. But you can go to Sheet Music Direct now to do that on Sibileus Scorch, but it's not the same, though.

I also came up here to let everyone know that that means that the seperate versions of 'Annie' and 'Private Radio' that were accurate, availiable @ Musicnotes.com, are now out of print, unfortunately. So I was wondering would anyone do transcribsions of them, considering the fact that the songbook versions suck. No pressure; it's just a little suggestion.

Oops, my bad; Private Radio have already been transcribed.   Forgive the flub-up. I guess Annie's next.

Pretty Baby isn't the most accurate, b/c it's supposed to change to Bb near the end; but I guess it's the Rinse 2000 version, b/c the key stays the same throughout. Well, there ain't nothin' I can't do; I can add my own touches to it; after all, I'm an artist, and I have the ability to make someone else's work my own. I'm not complainin'. None of Van's songs I play sound exactly like her work; I always put variances in her material somewhere.

Hey VanessaPiana --my #1 fan! haha...
Thanks for thinking of me. :-) Though I may not always be here, I'm never gone. Wouldn't ever give up on Vanessa!

I'm working on HAWBTW with a student, so I'll probably have my own transcription of it soon. I know it's been done, but parts of it are still hard to pick out (for me at least... I just want it to be readable with each hand on the proper staffs etc.)

I'll also work on Annie.

Baronessa,

So that's why you're so good at these transcribsions; you're a piano teacher. I didn't really know that you were 30-something until I checked out your profile. B/f then, I though you were one of the young folks. No wonder you took it so well when I unknowingly criticized your piano demostrations unintentionally; you're older than most of us.

As for HAWBTW, it looks a little confusing, but looks can be deceiving. But I know you might come back and give us the complete transcribsion like you and Phu usually do. At first glance, I thought some of the notes for Papa were going to be confusing, but when I printed it out, it wasn't so bad.

As for the rest of you piano sheet music fanatics, I have something new for you. I thought I'd lost it [HMBS] or accidently deleted it from my account, but here it is:

A Thousand Miles (accurate version):

Click on the 'music' icon, then go to 'lyrics/tabs'.

Her Most Beautiful Smile, by Rouruni Kenshin

That's ok Elicia...

I'm 32 in number but I'm still only 20-something.  :-)  Everyone guesses me for 20-something anyway!

HAWBTW is almost done. And I'm redoing Afterglow with lyrics and a few minor fixes.

Isn't Vanessa awesome!

Whoa... I didn't know that asking a question was automatically an assumption about being the queen of sheeba.  But hey, I guess you learn something new every day.

Unfortunately, I am in no way talented enough to transcribe anybody's music, unless it's a version of mary had a little lamb... but I bet that some of the better pianists would be willing to take a crack at it... as long as the requests don't get too out of hand, of course.  Speaking of which, anybody want to transcribe the whole of “In A Gadda Da Vida” for me?

I got a Casio Privia PX-310. It's exactly what I wanted and I got it for a good price too. I only paid $550 for it and I'd say it's just as good as any piano in the 1000-2000 price range. It feels and sounds like a real piano and it's got tons of other great features I haven't completely tried out yet.

I'd recommend the Privia because it has everything you'll need if you want to seriously study and can't get an acoustic, and even if you aren't too serious about learning, it's great quality for a pretty low price. Although there are cheaper models out there but from what I've seen the quality is much lower.

Vanessa has a new song called Edward? I really have been out of the loop. EDIT: Oh, I see now. It's a Shannon Thomas song.

I recently bought a Roland RD-170 which I think is fantastic. It retails at $AUD2,800 though. I would definitely go with a digital piano rather than a keyboard though. I don't like keyboards because I always run out of keys when playing my songs!!! A keyboard is alright for playing Twilight though, lol. Also keyboards don't usually have weighted keys and so the key touch is too light and it makes it harder to play a real acoustic piano. I'd advise against getting something really cheap, as apart from it sounding crap, it's unlikely to be very sophisticated in terms of polyphony, sustain, etc. If you don't have a sustain pedal, you'll run into problems making certain songs sound right. (Eg. songs like "Annie".)
In terms of sound, keyboards and digital pianos make sound when you play the keys because each note has been sampled by a piano sound (or an organ, or whatever sound you're playing with.) Each key must be sampled many times with different touches (eg. lightly playing with a soft touch, or banging on the keys Beethoven style, or inbetween), so when you play, as you don't apply the same amount of pressure to all the notes in a song, the electronic sound will recognize this accordingly. Many cheap keyboards aren't touch sensitive like this, and so if you play loudly, with lots of pressure on the keys, or softly, with not much pressure, the notes will be at the same volume- the only control over volume is the volume switch.

Hope this helps.

Here is the middle solo part for Half A Week Before the Winter that I actually started last May!! It's written in 12/8 time so the notes are easier to read than the edition in the Harmonium book which is in 4/4 time with tons of sixteenths and tied notes.

Had I know this was the easier instrumental version that's part of the current HAWBTW, then I would've printed this one out instead.

I'm sooo glad that Maag posted 'Superhero', b/c I felt that there were mistakes in the first transcribsion. I really listened to the song [the a cappella version] when I noticed. It was gonna be my next song, but I realized that there were mistakes in the Lucy's version. It will officially be the next song I learn now that it's put up. It's one of my favorites by Van b/c it has such a pretty melody and vocal arrangement.  :D

As for ATM, I only printed out one page and learned the rest of the song by ear, to be honest. Since I've heard the song a million times for 3 years, it was pretty easy to do. Since I didn't know what the exact notes were by the time Van sang, 'If I could fall, into the sky...', I made up my own melody, changed the notes, and have no intentions of changing it. It took 2 weeks to have the song by ear.

Yes, there are: There are versions in C, versions in B, versions where she plays a simpler piano part, and versions where she plays fill-in for the orchestra part that's heard on the record.  She usually tends to play the song in C live, though the record (and she sheetmusic version in the book) is clearly in B.

I really don't know why Van plays White Houses In B Major live, b/c B Major [or G#/Ab Minor] is a rather hard key to play in b/c it had 5 sharps. It's the one I have a hard time perfecting, so I prefer it in C Major; but it is easier to sing to, though.

No, because if you compare the album version and the live versions, the album version is half a pitch higher than the live versions.

It's either that, or I have hearing problems...

The album version is definitely in C Major on the album. Van plays it in B Major live. It's not that hard to figure out what key each version is in, b/c I'm a musician myself; I have an ear [sometimes a weird obsession] for what key certain songs are in.

For the Chord Illiterate, Here's a list of what key most of Van's songs are in:

A Major/F# Minor- Best Behavior [around D chord], Pretty Baby [ends in Bb], Wishin' And Hopin', Annie [around D chord], Red Ditty, or Sway

Bb Major/G Minor- Private Radio and Wanted

B Major and G#/Ab Minor- ATM, White Houses [live version], All Is Well, and Rinse

C Major/A Minor- White Houses [album version], San Francisco [F in the bridge], Ordinary Day, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Devil Dance, Afterglow, All I Ask, Paint It Black, Twilight [ends in D Major/B Minor], and Paradise

D Major/B Minor- Superhero, Where The Streets Have No Name, Swindler, Prince, Sway, and C'est La Vie

Eb Major/C Minor- This Time, The One, The Wreckage, and PYHOM

E Major/C# Minor- Who's To Say [around A chord], Everybody's Got To Learn, Ameriteen [B Minor in middle], Unsung [ends with E Minor], and HAWBTW

Gb Major/Eb Minor- Papa and Morning Sting

G Major/E Minor- Time Is On My Side, She Floats, and Birdie

Correct me if I'm wrong about any of these [which I'm pretty sure I ain't].

They still have to pay her royalties since she owns the compositions.  She just doesn't have any recording or promotional obligations to them anymore.

That's a change... V has never played in Db [or Bb Minor] Major before. I had a feeling she would play in that key sooner or later, b/c she's usually comfortable playing her songs in a certain key. [I've never officially played anything in Db [or Bb Minor], and I'm currently learning a song in that key for the first time, which is Alicia Keys' 'How Come You Don't Call Me'. I've tried to learn more than a year ago, but it just never worked out.] I'm just glad she's thrown in some spontanaity in that particular area. If V could do B w/ 5 sharps [or Cb/Ab Minor, w/ 7 sharps], she can do Db/Bb Minor w/ 5 flats [or C# Major, w/ 7 sharps] The only problem I have with this arrangement is that it's too simple. It's just me, but I like things that are more challenging better. Just had to throw that in.

I'm doing pretty good w/ HCYDCM, but I'm still struggling w/ the end part of Diary [I transposed the arrangement back to its orignal key, Ab/G# minor]. I started playing it back in January after seeing a guy do it and figured if he could do it, then I could, too. I tried learning the song b/f then, but it didn't work out. I made the part in between my own.

I have some more good news; I'm just now figuring out the exact chords [and their notes] for Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You' after playing the song 'my' way for more than 1 year 1/2. [I've had the songbook since 2-3/05.] Since the arrangement in the song was pretty whack, I pretty much made the song my own by creating my own riffs and ignoring the chords. I've always wanted to play it like [or very similar] to AK, so I decided to sit down one night and figure out the chords to the song [by looking at the guitar chords; thank GOD for those, b/c I don't know what us novices would do w/o them]. I have and I wrote them down on a piece of paper. [I made a chart for all of AK's songs that are in G#/Ab Minor in the songbook b/c they'd been transposed; I hated that so I made the chart so it would be easier to transpose it back in the original key.] So far, I've learned half of 'Harlem's Nocturne', which is up to the fast arppeggio.

I looked through this entire thread for the sheet music to "White Houses," but the links were too old. Does anyone currently have it, and is willing to share it with me?

I already know how to play it in both B and C, especially after seeing that wonderful girl's instructional video on YouTube. But part of me thinks I'm playing it incorrectly, and I wanted the sheet music to really make sure I'm doing it right.

Thank you in advance. :)

I, too have an ImageShack account, but how did you do this?

Did you know that you can [on ADOBE PDF format] print out 4 pages of sheet music on one sheet of paper [Or print out twice as many on both sides of a sheet of paper]? I wish I'd figured it out much sooner, b/c I would've saved a LOT of paper, not to mention money.

More Than This
Come Undone
My Best
Spring Street

Home - Extended Version
The One - The New Version.

i think thats it :D

Come undone is SO easy - does music really need to be made for that?

More Than This I wanna wait until I hear a live recording - it is pretty intricate in some parts from what I can hear.  but I can not pick all the notes out

The extended version on Home is really simple too....

The one is just a different key (Half step lower)

Title: New Album Songs
Post by: **Ann-Marie89** on September 28, 2007, 10:14:34 pm
Hmm I have to say isn't it amazing how similar Vanessa sounds live and on the album versions. That's quite a feat! To sound as good and accurate live compared to on the album!
Does the end section of Home, remind anyone of Where the streets have no name........? I thought that was interesting.. Some parts of other songs have the same notes/chords/rhythms as her older stuff. Like in ummm I think its Come Undone (or is it Spring Street?) There's a similar pattern that sounds like the bridge of Who's To Say, except in a different key.
I think, whoever did that transcription of Home, forgot the extra riff at the end! Just a note ^_^

Yep just adding my bit. I would love a transcription to More than This....

:D

The chords for my best (i think they are enough cos the melody is so easy that you can figure it out when you have it)

      Eb             Cm
We scream and shout
      Ab                 Cm
And try to make it last
....
                   Cm     Bb
And in these broken times
                  As        Eb
When it's so easy to forget

...

and Cm Bb Ab for the "like a promise kept"-part

I hope i was able to help :D

Hi.
I've changed 'Hands on me' sheet music, so now you can download an updated version of it, according to the studio recording. Thanks to phu for hosting it and making the .mid file. Enjoy!

Hey Maag, are you working on any of the other new songs from the new album, just out of curiosity.

DUDE, I've been playing this version all along [since early this year]! I felt that the riffs [on the orignial version] weren't quite like the version Van did on that show back in 7/05, so I just learned it by ear [and added my own touches to it], so now I can play along w/ the recording quite well.

Thanks Maag!

The mid that you have put up, however, is of "The One" and not "Come Undone"

Thanks for the music. I had most of it down already, but there's the small part right at the end I wasn't too sure about.

EDIT: "The One" and "Come Undone" are the wrong way round.

sorry if its been posted somewhere. i looked but couldn't find it. i'm terrible at figuring these things out by myself.

Are you talking about the last few bars where the right hand branches off into some sort of sub-melody or am I completely missing this? I've figured out a version of the former if you want me to upload it, although it's pretty easy to figure out.

Alright so I've got the last bar of the version that covers from the beginning to then. The one with F. It's a midi file.

Click to download, I think? (http://www.sendspace.com/file/evq7si)

Oh, and I'm not particularly sure if the left hand is with the eighth notes at the end or just a straight chord carried through the bar.

If I wasn't a beginner at piano and knew which notes were a, b, c, d... i would really find magic in her tutorials. But she goes a little to fast for the level I'm at right now. I am pretty good at watching the demos and being able to copy it, but i've had troubles with hers, which is really sad because she has a great teaching voice, and really seems like she knows what she's talking about.

The Demo tape and Harmonium are already uploaded. I changed the 'design' a bit to make them all the same, I've corrected some notes (I recommend you to download San Francisco, because now it's 100% GOOD) and I've added lyrics in the ones I could (like in The Wreckage).
Hope you enjoy!

Hi!
I've figured out 'Best Behavior'. It's on the first page.
About 'Come Undone' and 'Spring Street', it's difficult to figure them out with a studio version, because even in some parts there's no piano (like the 1st verse of 'Come Undone'), so as soon as we get a live or acoustic version I'll transcribe them.

Bye!

the pdf for best behavior doesn't work for me  :(
Could you re-upload it?
Thanks

can someone re-upload the Midi files??? it doesnt seem to be working for me... thanks! :)

That web doesn't work anymore.
By the way, yesterday I got my Japanese Tour Edition 'Ordinary Day' Single  :roflmao: , so as it has an 'Ordinary Day' piano/vocal studio version I've transcribed it, and I discovered some new details I'd never realized before. Enjoy!
Bye!

PS: I was thinking about figuring out 'My Best', so if you have any audios where you can hear well the piano I'd be very glad.

I cannot find your site anywhere what's the link?

I don't have 'London' yet. And, if Vanessa does not play 'Spring Street' live I won't figure it out, because the studio version is really bad to hear the piano and there are even parts when it doesn't sound.

Hi!
I know this is a double post, but I just uploaded 'Fair-weather friends'. It's in the first page, but I also post the link here: http://www.mediafire.com/?zn3zjz20mjz. It's not perfect -I know, the chorus may be not very accurate, but I've done the best that I could.  :)
Enjoy!

Thanks in advance!
Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.
Post by: saphire on March 26, 2009, 08:06:36 am
I figured out the chords for the most parts of "Fair-weather Friends":

(don't know if it's the right key but if you play it like this it will work out quite good)

It's basicly D(minor) A(minor) C G

and then for the refrain it's: F C A(minor) G

Bridge (your fragile as porcelain...): A(minor) G C F

I hope it will help you or motivate others to write out a complete sheet music for those who don't like playing simply with chords :D

"Waltz" sheet music? This is what I've transcribed so far - not on sheet music though. Just be ear and trying to find the rest out as I go. Maag, do you think you can write it?  ::)

*Is PattehPatrick on Youtube (I hate text limits)*

Main chords:
Ab maj
Cb minor
Gb minor
F maj

The left hand is basically just the chords with the main note, followed by the other two notes in the chord.
I never was good at the names of musical terms.  :P

Mind you that the left hand continuity does change a bit, such as at the part when it transitions and goes to "G C G C" and during at the high part that I don't know yet.  :-\

Right hand:
Eb Eb C C
Eb Eb C C
D D Eb D C
C D

Eb D C G G Eb D C C
C D

Eb D C G G G Eb D C
A Bb A

Eb D C G G Eb D C C
C D

Eb D C G G G Eb D C

G C G C
D Eb C

G C G C
D Eb D C

C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb Bb A C

Eb D C G G Eb D C C
C D

Eb D C G G G Eb D C

(as octaves)
G C G C
D Eb C
G C G G C
D Eb D C
G C G C
D Eb C
G C G C
D Eb D C

(not octaves anymore =])
C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb Bb A C
C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb C

(The high part that I don't know yet)

C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb Bb A C
C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb Bb A C

(an octave higher)
Eb D C G Eb D C C
C D

Eb D C G G G Eb D C
A Bb A G#

C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb Bb A C
C D Eb F Eb D C
C D Eb F Eb D Bb
D Bb C

I guess I mostly have it. Just not the right and left hand during high part and the left hand transition to and during the "G C G C" part.

Hi!
I just put 'Wanted' on the first page. I tried to write all the variations I know about this song, so it has details from Live, Rinse, BNN versions. And you should definately check the 2nd verse. I'm not 100% I got it perfect, but the left hand is certainly better than the half notes the official book has.
Enjoy!

PS: I'm going to France next week but I may start working with 'C'est la Vie', so if you could give me live videos of this song I'd really appreciate.

Dianthus, Spring Street is on the previous page before this one (or you can just look in the quote above your post for the link). My Best is on the very first page. If your problem is opening PDFs, then I could see where you're coming from.  Then, you'd need Overture or Finale, or whatever was used, to open it. Either way, you'd have to download Adobe or some music program.

So, I was scanning the forum when I found this  pretty much old live performance of Pretty Baby. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdL3cMoAkdY&feature=channel) It had an encore outro at the end which sounded great. Though it was only pretty short, I think it's worthy of learning to make the playing of the song more beautiful. And so, I decided to make a sheet music for the outro. Hope you guys like it.  ;)

Wrong pdf link :D Just out of curiosity, are you planning to make a Quail Dude Squaw sheet from the extended footage of Harmonium (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHcxhxNLBvI) ? We can see pretty well her hands.

Hey, I already fixed it.  ;D

About the QDS Sheet Music, I've been trying for ages to make one but I 'm having a hard time identifying the time signature of the song. I can already play it, though. I just need to know the time signature and I'm good.

And since you've asked, maybe I'm going to face that one again in just a few moments.  ;)

Update about QDS: I'm halfway done with the sheet music. :D I'd probably post it by later or tomorrow.

Quail Dude Squaw! (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=dn63u846ruadd) ;D

Note: I based the sequence of the parts of the song in the sheet music from the vid from YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoU-tA2nAuY&feature=related) and the extended footage from Harmonium (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHcxhxNLBvI) I patched them up, though I'm not sure if the real thing really goes like that. No one had herard it, after all. Hope you enjoy it, guys.  :D

Can you export your project file in midi if your software has this feature? I have a great piano VST (Pianoteq (http://www.pianoteq.com/discover_pianoteq3)) which can read the midi files, so I could export it in mp3 with a nice piano sound.

Does anyone has the full Harmonium Songbook (Piano/Vocal/Guitar) ? Because I only have Who's to Say :-\
Edit: Somebody sent me the songbook of Harmonium and a better scan of Be Not Nobody on Pianofiles.com. I updated the zip file.

To make the life easier, I made a zip file with all the sheets of Vanessa Carlton I have in my hard drive. Well, we have all her songs except Where the Street Have No Name.

I don't know guitar tabs, but I know the chords (they're universal in western instruments).

I've figured out 'Carousel' and made a new transcription for 'Fair-Weather Friends', since Vanessa's changed it so much. I've also completed Harmonium with 'Who's To Say' and 'HAWBTW' and re-uploaded 'A Thousand Miles' (the link didn't work, please let me know if it happens with more songs).

That's Who's To Say with the encore intro. There's also a part where the guitar played solo after the bridge, so I figured it would be nice if I mimic the notes on the piano. Just check it out and tell me what you think. ;)

My goal for the weekend - to get out my dusty keyboard and have a go at some of these!
I'm pretty rusty, and self-taught, so it may be a disaster - but I'm up for the challenge! :D

He's probably re-organizing everything to include new/updated sheet music. I'm thinking that it's nothing to worry about.

Is it possible for anyone to put onto a pdf, Ari's guitar piece in London, particularly the intro and near the bridge, i think it's so beautiful.

Thanks in advance,

Is there sheet music for Fools Like Me?
or even the more stripped-down version Vanessa's been doing at her recent shows?

"Fools Like Me" is in there. It's a backup of maag's transcriptions but "The Marching Line" and "In the End" are missing.

Mmm... This is my transcription.
In The End.pdf (http://www.mediafire.com/?pt0hpvuhv6wktd6)

And I know that my first Marching Line sheet music don't do much justice. I'm currently re-evaluating it and correcting the mistakes.

And I tried to find Maag's TMLine Transcription, but it seems like he had put it down as well. I tried asking him, but he hasn't responded yet.

I dunno why, but Maag doesn't respond to my messages to him regarding sheet musics.

Since then, I've been thinking about making a new sheet music thread.... What do you guys think? I'm going to re-upload the sheets and post there the newer links....

I don't understand why maag ignores us. He seems still active. You should definitely create your own thread if you have any news from him.

Wow, that was pretty rude to just take down all the sheet music.  Glad someone uploaded a backup, thus rendering the rudeness just a minor inconvenience lol.

Hi.

I miss Vanessa.

It's been a while since I've been here. How have you all been? I have a lot of news to catch up on. And some songs to learn and listen to. I was shocked to find out Vanessa was pregnant.. and married!! Yeah, I'm a little out of the loop...

Is anyone in need of my transcriptions or having trouble finding them? Or need something new done?

Hi there! Yes, a lot has happened in Vanessa's life lately!

I was wondering if you have, or could make, sheet music for "Come Undone"? I have the sheet music for the outro which I love playing, but I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly to do during the actual song :P

You can post them here and I can update the other list! :)

Oh awesome. I love that song. I will work on a complete version of "Come Undone"! Generally if I do a transcription I like to learn to sing it too, so if I can do it well I'll put a video on YouTube. :P

If Maag can give me permission, I will add his transcription of the outro to mine.

Yey! I'm excited about singing Vanessa again.  :D

Oh, and sobriquet, I'm pretty sure all my downloads still work on that main thread anyway.. I did check a few of them. (Not that I have that many anyway).

But for quick reference, they are at http://www.pianobea.com/transcriptions.htm.

Excellent! I can't wait to see the sheet music for "Come Undone" - and to listen to your performance if you do record it! I'm too bashful to sing, so I usually just play it  ;)

I don't have the sheets but I know the chords. Super easy!
G minor -B flat major c major to e flat. I'll post a little tutorial on my YouTube when I get back home!

I can play Blue Pool by ear, would anyone be interested in a YouTube tutorial?!  I posted in the other sheet music forum about it, too.  It's not difficult to play, but I'm not sure how to transcribe music unless someone could help me with that!  Let me know if anyone wants a tutorial and I'll post my YouTube info :)
