-
The most recient movie I saw was Monster's Ball. I didn't like it really, but then again I came in during the middle, lol. It reminded me of Magnolia or whatever that movie was, cause to me it really didn't have a clear point, it seemed like random events put together, but oh well. The one I saw before that (which, I might add, was much much better) was Harry Potter. Now there's a good movie. :D
-
:) i saw Ocean's Eleven recently.
-sfjng-

-Brian
-
I just saw DareDevil... only reason for seeing it? To listen for evanescence songs.. but as it turns out the movie was pretty decent.
I'm not a huge fan of Ben but his acting wasn't half bad (not that he did a whole lot of acting) and he is certainly nice to look at =D
-katia
-
LoTR Two Towers.
Well I don't get to the cinema a lot. And what other films do you need? Everything else is crap by comparison.
Before that was Signs. I liked that a lot.
-Kev

Signs was one of my all time favourites after I saw it. I loved it. What did you think about it Mike?
-
it was good, but not what i expected
mike
-
that movie scared the ever loving sh*t out of me! I went to see it at a theatre when i was in Canada for work.. and i'm already usually scared shitless at any scary movie where i cling and bruise anyone around me :D
Well the theatre punks during the really scary part towards the end, ran around outside and coordinated when the scary part happened, to shake the emergency exit door and pound on the side walls that i happened to be about 15-20 ft from. I maintained my composure, barely :)
i will not be seeing that movie again anytime soon even though i do think Mel Gibson is a sexy guy!
-
I love scary films. Most of them are just funny, but the suspense induced fear of that film had me beaten. I jumped so badly when the arm reaches out for that kid at the end (*shivers thinking about it*)
I wish the cinema people would do cool stuff like that over here.
-Kev
-
I jumped so badly when the arm reaches out for that kid at the end (*shivers thinking about it*)

-
Bringing Down The House :D
Very funny
-
Old School! :) hehe it was pretty good
--Jon
-
just finished watching Courage Under Fire... heh. Insomnia sucks + movie channels late at night. Sad movie, of course i've seen it quite a few times.
I like that the plot is unique but it concerns me that what transpires during this movie probably happens IRL.
Off to try to get some sleep :)
Ta!
-
The last movie I saw in the theaters was "My Big Fat Greek Weding" and the last movie that I saw for the first time was the "Spy Kids 2" movie.

-
Last movie I saw in theaters was Catch Me If You Can for a 2nd time...and before that I saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding.........On DVD I just watched 8 Mile
-
Just watched 'The Last Boy Scout'. Bruce Willis doing what Bruce Willis does best. Playing a hard man and firing off one-liners all over the place. It's good fun. Oh and I'm going to see The Ring at the weekend, see if it's anything like as scary as people say.
-

-
Dream crapper... i mean catcher
-
I just saw Dreamcatcher tonight.
It was pretty decent. All the stuff inside Jonesy's head was really well done!
Ending was a lil corny, but all Stephan King movies tend to have corny endngs (i.e. IT) But overall I liked the flick.
But damnit why did Brodie have to be the first to die??
-Kev

-Kev
-
I just finished watching "The Warriors" for the first time.
It is, without a doubt, the raddest fucking movie in the history of time. Motherfucker, that movie positivly destroyed my movie reviewing scale of one to ten by scoring a massive 39,045.
I swear, the only way any movie is going to top that is if Sandra Bullock steps out of the screen and gives you a blowjob and a ounce of heroin. Even then it the movie would still need to be about space ninjas fighting zombie pirate cowboys with the help of Mr. T to top the Warriors.
Shit, that film kicks ass.
-
You can probably tell that I am still a little hyper.
-
Yeah, it's a great film. I wouldn't rate it a 39,045, but it's a stone cold classic
-Kev
-
I agree. 39,045 is much to modest a number now that i think about it.
-
LOL, the warriors?!?...CAN YOU DIG IT!!.....i thought that movie was kinda silly, i mean they were a ton of guys my size...which is about 6 feet 150lbs...or for you metric people "thin" haha, So basically it was about gangs of scrawny people talking about how tough they were....I did however like the part when they kicked the crap outta the guys on rollerskates...man i hate rolerskates
of course i would give is a 39,045, but only if you shifted the decimal point four places to the left
-

I've seen a lot of movies lately:
- Brother Bear: a very cute and visually amazing Disney animated movie,
- My Boss's Daughter: it was only okay, the trailer gave away too many jokes,
- The Cat in the Hat: hmmm, it was "special", visually weird (lol), an average movie I'd say,
- Haute Tension: a french horror movie, it wasn't that great, the first half was fine but then it's just blah,
- Honey: featuring Jessica Alba, I loved it!! Very nice soundtrack too (if you somewhat like rap/hip-hop/R&B stuff,
- and today, Dark Water: a Japanese fantastic/horror movie, it was good. The director (Hideo Nakata) is the one who did "Ringu" a few years ago.
And I'm done! lol
-
Starsky and Hutch

Texas Chainsaw Massacre...again. but recent.

Shrek 2 - So good!
-
Timeline. :D Good movie, and great idea. I haven't read the book (by Michael Crichton), but the basic plot is pretty cool. Five students must go back in time to the year 1357 to rescue their professor. They only have 6 hours to bring him back. Sounds pretty easy, right? Well first they have to find him, and then they have to avoid getting stuck in the middle of a 100 year war between France and England. Overall it was pretty good. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
-
shrek 2

Mean Girls
It was actually really the funny. The one plastic, who could tell if it was raining by her boobs was histerical!

I just watched Amelie on DVD the other day. You guys should check it out. It is a really good french film and the art is beautiful and so is the music. Mathieu Kassovitz is the guy she falls in love with at the train station, you guys might know him as the director of Gothika. You guys need to go rent it.
Edit: We watched Citizin Kane in my Intro. to film class on Tuesday and watched it again today to study the scenes. I loved it the second time I watched it since I knew what was going on a little more. Have any of you guys seen it? I know it's old but you guys should have heard of it.

"The Bourne Supremacy"
This was one of the most boring films that I've ever seen. 2 hours of nothing but scenes of Matt just walking fast from place to place.
Barring "The Exorcist", this is the only film that I've ever fallen asleep while watching (it was only for like 30 seconds, but still).

Vanity Fair starring Reese Witherspoon and some very very sexy English & Scottish & Irish actors....I mean OMG they were hot. The guy from Bend It was in this film (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) Ok so besides the hotties....
Reese was amazing. No cutesy stuff in this film. I mean there was real emotion! Very very good.
The costumes were phenomnial as well as all the set design/colors used...I hope they get some Oscars for that!
The writing was brilliant, really great.
Star studded cast...A lot of people on here probly will know who these people are b/c they're mostly from England! Here's the main cast..

James Purefoy
Romola Garai
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers

I just watched "Bookies" tonight and it was messed up a bit but it didn't have a horrible depressing ending like I thought it would. Last night I watched "Twisted" with Ashley Judd and it was pretty good.

-
Dawn Of The Dead- It was ok, alot like 28 days later though... :?
-
Dawn Of The Dead- It was ok, alot like 28 days later though... :?
The original Dawn of the Dead is so much better due to it's "70'sness" I don't know if it was 70's or 80's but it's effects were horrible and it was so rediculous it was funny, some cop goes crazy in the opening ghetto raid, kicks open a door and decides this one guy is apparently ugly so he uses his shotgun and literally makes the guys head explode. Later in that scene one person gets bit by a zombie and it looks like he was just taking a bite out of a peice of chicken.
The ultimate in awful 70-80's films is a film called "They Live" starring the wrestler The Rowdy Roddy Piper, him and this huge black guy get into a fight because the other guy won't put on a pair of sunglasses.........and I think that other guy could've probably kicked his ass
-
I've seen two films this weekend at the cinema (seen another two or so at home): The Forgotten (I think that's the title in English) with Julianne Moore, who I <3, and a Spanish comedy called Di Que Si (Say Yes). None of them were too brilliant but I like Julianne Moore's better
i want to see Pleased To Meet You too! =(

13 Going On 30

Just watched Hero. Probably the most visualy beautiful movie I have ever seen, if not the best. I still prefer Crouching Tiger.
I watched Yojimbo again for like the 10th time today. Still my favorite movie ever. Kurosawa is the man.

Actually, I think the most recent movie I watched was Finding Nemo. I DLed it, and my roomie was like, 'omg you HAVE to watch it.'

Film titles couldn't get worse here... 13 Going On 30 was called The Dream Of My Life here :? I am seriously thinking of finding a job as film title translator, they could definitely do with some help from someone who actually UNDERSTANDS English

I have to agree with Nerea.
The titles suck in France as well!
It became "30 ans sinon rien" here, which means "nothing but 30".

I've just come back from watching a Spanish film called El Lobo (The Wolf), a real story about a man who entered ETA and worked as a double agent. Brilliant. 25 out of 10. Honestly one of the best films I have ever seen. I had to stop myself from crying when it ended - and I NEVER cry with films.
If it's ever released in the US I recommend it to you all

The Blind Swordsman Zatoichi. A Takeshi Kitano film. It rocked the shack.
-
I saw Alexander. AVOID IT!
I heard that that movie was awful, like 3 hours of nothing.......now in this you'd expect that "Alexander the Great" would be hacking people left and right, but rumor come to me here is that the whole movie was nothing but a peer into his "alternate lifestyle." I also heard the Italians were threatening the directors or producers or someone with a lawsuit for making Alexander appear a way I guess they'd rather he didn't. Too much controversy for such a long movie, count me out; Pulp Fiction here I come!
-
The Adams Family

not the Italians...the Greeks had a lawsuit because the movie supposedly depicted Alexander as bisexual...since the movie has been out, the lawsuit has been put on the shelf (probably forever because it's a stupid lawsuit)

I watched the director's cut of Daredevil tonight.

*shudder*
For the first time ever, I agree with Keith. Spiderman II, like all comic book films without exception, was utter dog shite.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, death to the comic book film genre. They're all completely generic. Maybe if somebody actually spent longer than a single weekend making one, then this wouldn't be the case, but why on earth would they? After all, a majority of the cinema going seem quite happy to throw away their money watching the same substandard film (thinly vieled under a different title) every single week of the year. What's the latest one? Eleckra? I haven't seen it, but I'd stake my very soul on the fact that it's going to be another bag of shit straight out of Turbo Script Generator V3.2.
Wake up people.
-Kev
P.S. By supporting these films, you're runing cinema for the rest of us.

there are plenty of other films out there....one, maybe two, superhero movie a year compared to the hundreds of other dramas, horrors, comedies, action/adventure, and pornos...there's plenty to pick for everyone
I've always been a fan of comic books...that started when my dad worked for Marvel. I've been pleased with the recent string of films (although Catwoman looked like crap, so I haven't seen it).
Elektra looks pretty cool, but I see what you mean. It's sort of the same premise...Good vs Evil....in all comic films....well....technically...it's Good vs. Evil in almost every type of film
but I see your point and everyone's entitled to their opinion...i guess because I grew up reading the comics, it doesn't bother me that much.
-

True, there are other movies to choose from, but that's not my point. My problem is that nobody will make a good superhero film. Horrors were the same a while back. Every horror film that was shown in the cinema was a crappy, unoriginal, mass produced teen slasher (Scream syndrome). Then after that it was comedies, with every new comedy in the cinema being a crappy, unoriginal, mass produced gross out movie (American Pie syndrome). Now it is the time of the crappy unoriginal, mass produced superhero movie. I can't say it any better than Keith, cookie-cutter. In the 80s it was Arnie-style action films. Who knows what genre they'll infect next, blocking any films of real worth in that genre from cinemas? They won't stop until people raise their standards. Standards unecessarily low as a result of being force fed decades of trite, mass produced travesties.

Comics are great. My problem isn't with the idea at all. Some of the animated cartoons based on comics are cool and I have no trouble imagining a great superhero film. So much so that I'm amazed at how they consistantly manage to fuck them up. You're dad worked at Marvel? Nifty, what did he do?
Elektra looks pretty cool, but I see what you mean. It's sort of the same premise...Good vs Evil....in all comic films....well....technically...it's Good vs. Evil in almost every type of film
It's not just the basic premise. After all, LoTR was Good Vs. Evil and that kicked all kinds of ass. The effects are all the same, they never break any new ground, I bet they all share the same effects engine. The soundtracks are all the same, bland nu-metal/pop-rock, designed to sell as many soundtrack CDs alongside the film as possible rather than to enhance the feeling of the film in any way. Cookie-cutter music for cookie-cutter films. The characters are never developed properly, they're just there to look good on posters and get thrown into thoroughly generic, drawn out action sequences. Do I care if Blade gets stabbed or dies of blood-thirst? No. Do I care if Wolverine gets shot in the face? Nope. Could I care less if Hell Boy get's sucked into the void by Nazis? Hardly. All superhero films are designed to just be roller coasters so viewers can simply "enjoy the ride" instead of having to think or experience any emotion. Are you honestly saying that you don't simply forget large portions of these films immediately after leaving the theater? I do.
but I see your point and everyone's entitled to their opinion...i guess because I grew up reading the comics, it doesn't bother me that much.
Surely you must see how these films are movie equivelent of Britney Spears? Crap music sells because marketing is more important to sales than quality (because most people are idiots). It's exactly the same thing with whatever trendy genre hollywood movie studios are focused on. They're pure and simply cash-ins and the studio execs are laughing all the way to the bank with your money. Am I the only one who sees this? Am I delusional? I must be.

you make many valid points...and you're surely not alone on any of them...there just aren't too many ORIGINAL films made anymore, which really sucks...
if i ever decide to make a film based on a comic book, I'll do my best to make it as original as possible... :D
oh...and my dad worked in the advertising department at Marvel. Not exactly the coolest job there, but I did hang out at the office a few times....got some free comics out of it :D
-

True dat. Or at least they aren't making it into mainstream cinemas :(
if i ever decide to make a film based on a comic book, I'll do my best to make it as original as possible... :D
If you made it for the art and love of making a film instead of purely as a shallow business venture, then I'm sure it would turn out great. And promise me you won't release a simplistic 3D computer game of the film ;-)

most are low-budget, independent films...these are usually the best films, and you'll see some grab an oscar nom once in a while...a film like The Motorcycle Diaries for example...I haven't seen it, but that's because it's only playing in one theater in my area...

Friday - Elektra with my friends
Saturday - In Good Company with my aunt

-
saw three this weekend:
In Good Company
Kinsey
I, Robot
-
Saw "House Of Flying Daggers" this weekend. I Liked it. My only major complaint is the drawn out scenes of people just staring at each other (Kill Bill style).
7/10

-
I saw White Noise yesterday with my boyfriend. He let me pick the movie.
It sucked. Really predictable and not that scary.... though I DID jump and screech once.
-
I rented 2 overnighters today
Supersize me & Farenheit 9/11
-

Racing Stripes - 4/10 - It was cute, but it was predictable and cheesy. Nice to see Mandy Moore in a successful movie.
The Grudge - 6/10 - Finally saw it! Pretty damn freaky. SMG gave a solid performance. I am still kinda confused though.
-
garden state= love
-
Recently watched Garden State and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Both great movies.
-
The Grudge - 6/10 - Finally saw it! Pretty damn freaky. SMG gave a solid performance. I am still kinda confused though.
Come on, 6/10? Why so low? It's an awesome film. Best horror film to date.

i found The Grudge to be one of the most disappointing films of 2004...I really love horror films, but when they give 'em PG-13 ratings, it doesn't work out...it was definately freaky, but not all that great

It wasn't PG 13 over here. It was 15. Which is basically the highest cinema rating we ever get (you have to try *really* hard to get an 18 these days).
Sex, gore and gratuitous violence push up the rating. None of those things are required for a great horror film.
But to each their own. I have several friends who were disappointed with it too.
-Kev
-
Ace ventura - pet detective
on tv last night :D Jim Carrey as he used to be
I saw an interview with Jim Carey, and gosh he's aged since how I remember him ..
last movie was shark tale on the plane .. it sucked .. really really bad.
I want to watch the Motorcycle diaries and few others, but as usual I won't :-)

Almost EVERYTHING is MA15+ here .. or R .. we have LOTS of R's .. its crap. AUstralia is WAY to stringent when it comes to classifications.
We HARDLY have PG anymore .. only cartoons .. and Harry Potter :-D

16+ it is!!
Yeah but one can argue, know it all teenagers out on awkward dates who love the sound of their own voices and think it' funny when they crunch loudly during quiet bits .. THEY are the most likely culprits to ruin lovies ...
I don't mind the kiddie kids . it's the teenagers I have issues with .. know it all teenagers to be exact!!

The Italian Job. GREAT movie.

We went with my two sisters last night to see "Miss Congeniality 2". While critics do have sound grounds to call it a "cookie-cutter" sequel as some of the jokes were a tad bit predictible, I found it quite enjoyable. :)

I don't blame you for not wanting to go to a theater. You pay a lot of money to let strange people ruin your movie experience. :x

- Be Cool: sequel to Get Shorty, good as well, even better because it takes place in the music business ;)

"Gattaca." It's from '97 and I just now got around to seeing it...it's AWESOME!
-
"Sahara"... I *had* to go - against my will - cos I'd promised a friend I'd go with her. As much as I hate Penelope Cruz, the film wasn't bad. I had a laugh or two - not out of its jokes, more like making fun of them

Yeah, and that's also the latest movie I saw.
Mine too.
It's wicked.
Except that Lucas pays homage to Jar Jar Binks (sp?) by allowing him to appear in the film at the very end. Which was a gigantic slap in the face to everyone in the audience, I almost walked out ;-)
Seriously, it's awesome. Definitely up there with the first (last) three films, rather than down with the last (first. Damn your confusion, Lucas!) two.

Yeah. He's a Jamaican-style alien character featured heavily in "Episode One: The Phantom Menace" to provide 'comic relief'. Hilarity does not ensue. The crapness of episode one is, among other things, widely attributed to his character.
-
Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace.
was supposed to watch Ep. 2 last night, but pushed it out to later in the week.
-
'Paycheck' with Ben Affleck. Say what you will about some of Ben's performances, but this one actually had a decent plot. Some points seem almost farfetched unless you decide that he's already seen everything that happens and, presumably, the results of everything he changes after having seen it.
-
The apartment .. black and white .. completely old school ..
such a great movie!!!

'Napoleon Dynamite'
Very good movie, but very cerebral. I may have to watch this one again.

The most recent movie I saw in the theater was Ep III..it was awesome..I wanna see it again! (I admit I have seen it 3 times already)
The most recent dvd I rented was Closer..it was WEIRD... I'm not really sure if I liked it or not..it was interesting...

We went and watched 'Madagascar' tonight. It was nice. :D I give it 12 stars.
-
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
very good. very entertaining and a whole lot of fun.
-
I saw The Interpreter at the movies yesterday: it was okay but kind of a slow movie.
Last night, I saw Miss Congeniality 2: it wasn't as good as the first one but also an okay movie.
And this morning, I watched Cursed, which was actually pretty cool. I don't know why a lot of critics killed the movie: it's not the best horror movie of the year, of course, but it was still fun to watch.
-
Without A Paddle
It was pretty good
-
I watched Boogeyman tonight: it was one of those "jumpy" movies!!
I think it was a cool flick, the end could have been better though.
I wonder what the alternate ending that's on the dvd looks like...
-
And this morning, I watched Cursed, which was actually pretty cool.
oh that was such a crap movie. so bad it was laughable. completely cheesy
-
The newest Star Wars, enjoyed it. Not as much as the old ones, of course.
-
Since the last time I have posted, I have seen 'The Terminal' and 'Holes'. 'The Terminal' was a very good story, and I was so delighted at the ending, and would like to know more about the true stories of people in situations like his, and 'Holes' was a really cute movie with a plot and believability that didn't numb the mind like so many Disney movies lately. :D
-
saw eternal sunshine of the spotless mind yesterday on dvd.
thought it was pretty good.

Does it feel free?
Hm, kind of watching " JONNY ENGLISH " with the best actress in my opinion... NATALIE IMBRUGLIA

The girl in the cafe. Excellent, if everyone saw this, our politicians would act differently.
The Girl in the Cafè is both a romantic character drama with comedic elements, and a powerful political wake-up call by Richard Curtis, the acclaimed writer of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Love Actually. Curtis' first film since Love Actually, The Girl in the Cafè literally addresses one the most important questions of 2005: Will this be the year when world powers seriously address the issue of world poverty once and for all? The film is a passionate plea to humankind - wrapped in a love story, a comedy and a unique drama. It is a call to arms that shamelessly sets out to entertain, inform and challenge audiences to act. Above all, the film seeks to raise awareness about the important political choices facing the G8 leaders at the next Summit, in Scotland in 2005, and for all of our actions to match our principles.
On July 2, CNN will air a one-hour special on global poverty including clips from "The Girl in the Cafe," as well as an interview with Blair, who has been given a copy of the film and is expected to discuss it.

The Notebook
and it bleeeewwww. well at least the ending. what was that? complete crap. I should have known better than to see a movie based on a Nicholas Sparks book. :-P
-
Yeah...you seriously should've known better.
 Glad I didn't waste my time with that one. There was no way in hell I was about to! I TRIED TO WARN EVERYONE!
-
I saw War of the Wolrds yesterday and it was excellent! I mean, it had some flaws and it could have been even better, but I won't say why because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. The kids annoyed me though; I wished it would have just been Tom Cruise and Miranda Otto married or something fending for their lives together. The graphics, however, were amazing and the movie really has you on the edge of your seat. It's nonstop action. I'd say it was like a 7/10- three points deducted for the annoying kids and the ending.
-
I'm saddened by you two girls, I loved that movie as well as Nicholas Sparks. But I'm a hopeless romantic. A really pathetic one lmao.

I enjoyed The Notebook. I thought it was very good.

I just saw an advance screening of War Of The Worlds (the movie is out next Wednesday here) and I have to say it was very good! Spielberg freaking rocks, as always!
I'm not sure I understood the movie though. (I won't say more because I don't wanna spoil the movie)
Funny story: movie was supposed to be at 7.25 pm but they didn't have it yet (it was still on the road between I don't know where and the movie theater!) LOL
I had to wait 3 more hours for the next showtime...
-
Man on Fire.
awesome movie...one of the best from 2004
-
I finally saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and it was scary, just reeeally suspenseful, at least for me....
-
I saw "War of the Worlds," too. Loved it, it was awesome! :D
-
I saw Creep (a British/German horror movie) yesterday: it was okay, I expected better though.
-
Last night I saw :
War of the Worlds - 8/10 - Really good... one really bad plothole, though. The visuals were amazing. Really tense.
The Notebook - 6/10 - Major chick flick. Pretty good. I didn't cry! :D
-
War of the Worlds
Great movie!!!

i saw HIDE AND SEEK.... was real bad... 2/10

Moulin Rouge, thought it was absolutely great.

-
The Ring - 6/10 - Finally! Not nearly as good as the Grudge.
8O
The Grudge beat it in almost every aspect in my opinion.
Kayako > Samara
Sarah Michelle Gellar > Naomi Watts (I <3 SMG)
Scarier than the Ring
More enjoyable than the Ring
Better paced than the Ring
Better characters than the Ring
The only thing The Ring was better at was that it was a smarter movie... I enjoyed The Ring, but it wasn't close to The Grudge as a horror movie.
-
Scarier than the Ring
i'll give you that, by a small margin.
i just didn't care for the story I guess. The Grudge coulda been so much better.
-
War of the Worlds.
was one of my most anticipated films of the year and Spielberg delivered as she always. Excellent film.
full review coming tomorrow or Thursday

It just arrived in our box the other day and we watched it last night. I loved that movie! And even though the ending could very well have been predictable, that didn't in the least take away from its emotional stir. It was a very beautiful ending, and in my opinion the best possible and only really suitable ending to a story that had started, built, and come down to an end like it did. I'm not ashamed to say I cried.
-
I saw War of the Worls yesterday. It was okay I guess. Some stupid errors that Spielberg could very well have avoided and the ending was a bit lame, but the movie had me gripping my armrests almost the entire time, so that is positive.
And some things were copied almost straight from Jurassic Park, that could have been better.

I saw War of the worlds today. I was a little disapointed with the ending; slightly sudden and inconclusive. It was ok though.

I saw Batman Begins tonight. It's better than I was expecting.

Speaking of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, has anyone else seen Team America? That is, hands down, the funniest movie I have ever seen.

i've got the DVD, just haven't seen it yet

I don't agree.
It was somewhat funny, I give you that but not the funniest movie I've ever seen.
-
You have to have a certain type of sense of humor to really find it funny. I find that most people either think that it's the funniest thing ever or the most stupid. Every time I watch it, it gets funnier. "I put a jihaad on them, and if you don't believe me I'll put a jihaad on you, too."
-
What I've watched so far this weekend:
- I, Robot: great movie, I haven't seen it since I got the dvd,
- Old School (Unrated): this movie is already a classic to me (Franck the Tank! haha),
- The Grudge (Extended Unrated Director's cut): this version is slightly better even though I didn't remember the original cut, I had to look it up on imdb.
Fyi, The following scenes were reinstated: (SPOILERS beware!!):
(highlight to read)
* 1. After Peter Kirk's death we focus on his dead face and the eyeball on the pavement has slightly popped out looking like a white gum drop.
* 2. The old senile lady is messing with tape and her fingers are covered in blood when she meets Yoko (caretaker).
* 3. Later Karen shows up and sees the bandaged fingers as well. It's a new plot point showing that she was the one who locked Toshio in the closet.
* 4. During the Open House the sister hears things and finds a cat figurine in Toshio's closet as well as remnants of his drawings.
* 5. During the American couples first night in the house the wife hears the clatter of what she believes to be the mother but it is really Toshio.
* 6. Doug is shown working and studying before a recently discharge Karen shows up at his work.
* 7. Alex meeting Yoko jawless in the hallway is extended and she even stretches back quite a bit to show down her throat quite a lot.
* 8. The Peter Kirk scene where he shows up at the house and finds Kayako's body is longer. She falls out of the closet and we stay on her for quite a while. She seems to follow him throughout the room. Her neck is making crunching noises.
* 9. The thumping that you hear from the hanging body in the next room reveals that Toshio is pushing his fathers feet into the wall.
* 10. The father killing his family scene is extended. He grabs Ayako and semi strips her and grabs her by the throat and in his rage twists her head to an almost 360° and it splinters and cracks as she spits blood. The 'aaaaaaaacckkkk' sound is from her dying as her throat is distended. Toshio views the entire thing. This reveals why he is always bug eyed when on the stairwell looking down because this is where he was sitting.
* 11. As Karen is saving her comatose hubby we see more of the family death. It looks as if he cuts the cats throat in the tub and then he slams it's carcass against the tub walls. We then actually see Toshio being drowned. He even has a moment where he looks at his father before he dunks him in. Then there are jump cuts of where the father placed their corpses. These spots end up being where they congregate. Toshio is dead in his closet along with his mother in the attic.
* 12. In the US version Karen yells at Doug 'not to look at her'. In this version the dialogue isn't there.
* 13. In the aftermath of the fire we see a POV from Karen in the ambulance as well as firefighters performing their jobs on the house.

The last DVDs i brought were Chasing Amy and Bridget Jones- Edge of reason.
I LOVED Bridget :D I think it was better than the 1st movie, it was really funny and fresh.
I remembered watching Chasing Amy on tv a few years back I thought it was funny but when I watched it for the second time I didnt find it that funny.
Still a good movie though and the special features are pretty great.
The last movie I watched in the cinema was Upside of Anger :D that movie rocks... alot.
I loved it.

last movie i saw in theaters: Batman Begins (kinda boring)
last movie i saw on DVD: Cabaret
-
Just watched National Treasure... It was like Da Vinci Code Lite. Ehh, it was good. Not believable at all.
-
I saw Dark Water on Friday and all I have to say is: do not go see this movie! The trailer is misleading; it is not scary at all and it is a very long movie about absolutely nothing. It is written by the same person that wrote the Ring, and if you've seen the Ring and then watch this movie you will know that this guy cannot write anything original. Save your money, and if you still really want to see it wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it. It is not worth the price of the movie ticket.
-
watched The Machinist. Very intersting movie....kind of Memento-ish.
If you like Memento, you'll like The Machinist. full review coming this week. (i'm falling behind on the reviews...still have to review War of the Worlds)

I saw The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman. Its a good movie kinda confusing tho.

I loved the Machinist! And Memento. But Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors and I just find it amazing how dedicated he is to his acting. I mean, he emaciates himself to be in the Machinist and then he gains like 60 pounds to be Batman. Some other actors who think they're so great could learn something from him. *cough*Tom Cruise*cough*

sorry to be so late with responding to this but anyhow, the scene in the basement with Tim Robbins reeked pretty much of the kitchen scene in Jurassic Park. (Spoilers by the way) When they are hiding behind the mirror and the girl's foot slips is very reminiscent of the part with the spoon thing (I'm not english so don't know the exact word) that drops in the kitchen scene in Jurassic Park. And there are some other shots which seem just too familiar: girl in rocking chair/ velociraptor jumping on counter, use of the mirror in deceiving aliens/ dinos. It is just something that I noticed, maybe I'm just being nitpicky.
Things that were totally wrong: why can someone use a camera (just before the massacre begins) when the lightning had just hit over 26 times and fried all the electrical equipment including cars and such. How can they even videotape the aliens in the lightning since there equipment should have been fried. I think that's kind of sloppy.
There are also way too many coincedenses: Tom Cruise and kids driving down a freeway with dozens of cars but they never have to stop or leave the road. After the plane crashes isn't it just a bit of a coincedence their car wasn't hit and there was this nice road they could use even if there should have been loads of rubble there?
About the end: why is the son alive? He could have never survived that and we're not even given an explanation how he survived. It just reeks of an obligatory happy ending. It would have been far more dramatic if the son had died and it would have made a hell of a lot more sense really.
BTW not that I didn't like the movie, it was a true rollercoaster ride, but it was all a bit too much really.
-
not bad.
with a movie like this...you need to suspend reality...a lot.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
good....strange...but good.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
great movie. Depp was fucking brilliant.
-
Wedding Crashers
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson never fail at making me laugh.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was great! Johnny Depp is the best.
I'm going to see the Wedding Crashers this Friday; I love Rachel McAdams!

I saw The Island today, it was much better than Logan's Run
-
I saw The Island today, it was much better than Logan's Run
Yay! I wasn't the only one who liked it. :D
Last movie I saw was "The Long Kiss Goodnight." It was pretty awful.
-
I saw Guess Who last night, it turned out pretty funny, even though I sometimes have trouble understanding Bernie Mac :?
-
Wimbledon and it was awesome! 8/10
-
The Transporter 2: honestly (and I liked the first one, it was a fun movie to watch), that sequel was pretty disappointing: plot was sucky, SFX were lame and a lot of details just make the movie laughable at times.
Save your 10 bucks and go see something else instead, like Fantastic 4 or The Island!
-
Saw Dukes of Hazzard today. I thought Jessica Simpson was good. The movie was good... but nothing special. 6/10
-
I saw Hidalgo today while I was at band camp (we're using the music from the movie for our field show). It's amazing music, but kind of a lame movie.. blah

We went and saw 'Sky High' this afternoon at the matinee. I thought it was pretty cool, for a family movie.
We're considering seeing 'Dukes of Hazzard' tomorrow afternoon, despite the original Cooter's declaration that it's just a dirty re-rendering of a classic family-oriented show.
-
Scary Movie 2. It sucked.
-
We just watched 'Dodgeball'. Weird little movie, but I enjoyed it. :)
-
I saw I, Robot & Wicker Park yesterday.
Wicker park was hard to follow at first but it was really interesting how everything unraveled. I give it a 2/5.
I, Robot was OK. The Sonny ZRobot was cool and creepy. I give it a 3/5.
Both rank as pretty forgettable for me, but I they were entertaining while I was watching.
-
I only own a few films and "Wicker Park" is one of them. I really like it!
-
Kill Bill Vol. 1
-
i saw wedding crashers 2 nights ago, it was sooo funny. i hadnt seen the previews for it so i went into it blind but i totally loved it. anyone else see it yet?
-
Million Dollar Baby. 7/10
-
GARFIELD!
-
I've seen Wedding Crashers twice now! I love it.
The Skeleton Key was really good. I went and saw it not expecting much sense most of the "scary" movies I've seen lately have been quite dreadful (don't even get me started on Dark Water). But I was completely surprised and the ending is just WOW.
-
The Transporter 2
is that out in France already?
The Island
The 40 Year-Old Virgin
-
The Skeleton Key
It rocks!!!!
-
The Transporter 2
is that out in France already?
Yup, it was out early August here. But since it sucked, who cares if you guys get a later release? lol
-
Malibu's Most Wanted: it was kinda dumb but kinda funny at the same time. Lil' white boy trying to be down with the black people and shiznit
-
I saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory recently. I liked it. It was weird and pretty funny. The only thing I really didn't like was the Oompa Loompas, they were just annoying. Other than that I loved the movie, it's a Tim Burton/Danny Elfman film, how could I say otherwise? I loved loony Grandma Georgina ("I like grapes!") and her cynical husband, they reminded me of my parents (except my parents aren't old and bed-ridden). I can't really compare it to the old film. They're both different and have their own strengths and weaknesses.
-
Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo
not half bad.
Boogyman
pretty fucking bad
-
The Island: I really enjoyed it!! Good action flick. And Scarlett Johansson was freaking hot in it :P
-
Underworld
-
Mr & Mrs Smith.
Only reason I went in the first place: Angelina Jolie... so even though the movie wasn't that good.. I loved it because of her haha
-
Gina, Mr. and Mrs. Smith rocked no matter what!
I saw The Pacifier last night. Very forgettable.
-
so even though the movie wasn't that good..
8O
-
what you guys really liked it that much? It wasn't THAT great of a movie, it wasn't bad... just wasn't as impressed as I had hoped to be... though I was more than impressed by Angelina's appearance. HAHA.
-

Well, I know I liked it that much!
-
'Smith' was the best movie of the summer, hands down.
-
'Smith' was the best movie of the summer, hands down.
I agree with that....although I haven't seen enough to really judge. :D
-
Red Eye
It was enjoyable. I'll give it 3 stars on MovieBuzz.
-
Yeah, I saw Red Eye last week and it wasn't one of the best movies I've ever seen, but it was entertaining. I don't think I would have liked it as much if Rachel McAdams hadn't been in it. I really like her and I think she's an excellent actress.
I'm going to see Brothers Grimm tonight. I'm not expecting much, but it looks mildly entertaining so we'll see.
-
...Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.....funny...not as funny as i thought it would be buy funny....very sick...
-
Wedding Crashers: it was pretty damn funny!!
Gloria just cracked me up: that girl was insane! haha
-
Brothers Grimm was really good! I was quite surprised. The preview doesn't do it justice. It reminded me of Sleepy Hollow, but with fairy tales mixed in. I recommend this movie to everyone!
-
i saw The Hole recenty.. its a really ol film...keira knightley...not really good tho....5/10
-
The Skeleton Key
this was a pretty good movie....different than what I had expected and not something seen in any recent films.
-
Audition
Wow! The Japanese filmmakers are brilliant. Excellent psycho-motherfucker film. The entire film leads up to the most disturbing last 10-15 mins.
I was expecting more gore during the middle parts of the film, but by the end, I realized that wasn't necessary
-
Red Eye
I liked it. Murphy plays the creepy role very well and McAdams is f'ing hot. :D
-
Children of the Corn
The Brothers Grimm
-
i would like to say the brothers grimm too....but since i was sleeping for 90% of it i cant...tinaa...why did you let me sleep through the movie?
-

brian....why didnt you tell tina to wake me up?...you were sitting with her...

oh...i understand..i guess it can happen once...but twice?!?!? stupid llama whore let me sleep through the ending of 40 year old virgin last night!
-
oh...i understand..i guess it can happen once...but twice?!?!? stupid llama whore let me sleep through the ending of 40 year old virgin last night!
NOOOOOOO!
Tinaaa...what the fuck you fat lard? How could you make her fall asleep during the funniest movie of the year.
-
i know it! the last thing i remember was him being sarcastic to that ebay woman's daughter...
-
40 Year Old Virgin was awesome! "Andy, I'm not going to watch School of C*ck with you!"
I saw the Exorcism of Emily Rose last night. It was really good and had some pretty good scares. Jennifer Carpenter's performance is mindblowing, especially considereing that this was her first big movie role.
-
saw cinderella man last night... it was really awesome..
-
White Noise
an okay film...until the end.
-
i know it brian...i was so disappointed with the ending...
-
Okay, the last 3 movies I saw:
- One Missed Call: it was good but Japanese horror movies tend to be the same overall...
- Fever Pitch: cute romantic comedy, minus the Red Sucks,
- Happy Gilmore: this movie is insane! I love it!
-
40 Year Old Virgin was awesome! "Andy, I'm not going to watch School of C*ck with you!"

that part was so funny!
-
Skeleton Key. It was good. The ending was... 8O Wow.
-
As far as movies go, I'd say the most recent was 'Independence Day'. If you can get past some major believability points, it's a really exciting movie.
-
Skeleton Key. It was good. The ending was... 8O Wow.
same here. wicked good though :)
-
Say Cry_Wolf today. It was also good. I recommend everyone sees it.
-
Im planning on going to see the Emily Rose movie...cause it's my name lol Emily Rose miller ;-) so anyways..any opinions on the movie, so i dont waste money on it
-
The Dancer Upstairs
very good movie
-
Dark Water, the original japanese version
not bad, but not all that scary.
-
Pride and Prejudice!
Wasn't as good as the BBC 6 hour long version though!
-
I saw Cujo last night. It was the most enormously overrated waste of my life ever. And the ending trumped The Cutting Edge for the worst in existance.
-
Im planning on going to see the Emily Rose movie...cause it's my name lol Emily Rose miller ;-) so anyways..any opinions on the movie, so i dont waste money on it
I really liked Emily Rose! I thought it was pretty good; you won' t leave the theatre thinking it was a waste of money. There was a lot of court, it takes up about %70 of the movie but the actual exorcism stuff that they show is pretty neat.
-
Oh and I saw House of 1000 Corpses today. If you like horror it's good. I loved it, personally. I guess that makes me kind of sick, lol. But from a filmmaker's prospective, it's awesome the way he experiments with film styles.
-
The Birds. It was alright... good, I guess. 6/10
-
high school high...so funny...:P
-
'Catwoman' - Really cool!
-
It's been a very "animated" weekend for me: I've been catching up on old Ghibli animes I haven't seeen.
- The Cat Returns: it was really good! Despite the character design I didn't like at first but it grew on me as the movie went on. I defiinitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys smart animes.
- My Neighbor Totoro: it was cute but it kind of lacks a real story in my opinion. But some parts were funny and Totoro himself was hilarious.
-
Corpse Bride
-
I saw Corpse Bride too! It was adorable. :)
-
I saw Corpse Bride last night. I liked it. The animation was beautiful just like I knew it would be, especially the final scene. Honestly, I don't think it was as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas, but if it had more songs, (and better ones at that) they would be even. And I think they could have taken the story with the villain a bit further. But other than that I loved all the characters and the story.
-
I also saw Corpse Bride. It was very cute; not one of Tim Burton's best, but still very enjoyable.
I watched City of God the other day, mainly because Vanessa recommended it in one of her posts. It was a pretty good movie and I recommend it to anyone, too.
-
Signs (2002)
It was good... 6/10
-
The Lost Boys
classic...although Corey Feldman's acting in this made me laugh so hard. he was a little over the top.

word. not to mention my constant mixing up of the names throughout the whole movie lol...aww i wish liz would be awake for a movie for once :P

Transporter 2. I'm a sucker for Luc Besson movies.

Everyone go see it!
-
The Forgotten
not bad.
-
Million Dollar Baby (becasue Blockbuster was out of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
-
'Corpse Bride' and 'Just Like Heaven'
(We watched a double feature last night, and) I recommend both of them! 17 stars! :D
-
The Brothers Grimm: it was cool, very entertaining. I recommend it!
-
The Omen
good movie. Gregory Peck is awesome
-
Serenity. It was good and intense.
-
Meet the Fockers
wasn't as good as Meet the Parents
-
Serenity.
-
UK folks- Anyone seen Wallace and Gromit yet?! I'm seeing it on friday!
-
The Omen
good movie. Gregory Peck is awesome
word. he still reminds me of an older charlie scheen ( spelling?)
haha like out of the last 12 movies ive posted on here like 5 of them i have watched with you brian. :)
-
haha, you guys finally watched it.
I just rented Bride and Prejudice and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Now I'm no Bdub, but I give them both an A++++++++
-
I saw Waiting last Friday. It was funny, but definitely not the funniest movie of the year. I love Dane Cook which is part of the reason I wanted to see the movie. He's not in it as much as I hoped, but when he is in it he's hilarious.
I also watched Adaptation over the weekend with Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep. It was a really well done movie but it's kinda depressing. The acting in it is wonderful though.
-
I saw "Alfie" this past weekend...just what I wanted at the time: Cute, fun, and simple.
-
'The Greatest Game Ever Played'
The fact that it's a true story makes it all the more wonderful!
-
i'm probably seeing Elizabethtown tomorrow, looks really good.
-
i'm probably seeing Elizabethtown tomorrow, looks really good.
Ooh, I agree.
-
I watched Irreversible last night starring Monica Belucci. All I have to say about it is 8O. It is pretty disturbing.
-
along came polly....again...great movie...not ben stillers best, but still great
-
^^^ or jennifer anistons for the matter
-
I watched Irreversible last night starring Monica Belucci. All I have to say about it is 8O. It is pretty disturbing.
i have to see this....i've got the DVD. i've heard diff. things on how good/bad it is, but there's no denying that it's extremely hard to watch

You should watch it! It's definitely worth a watch. You feel slightly nauseated at the beginning because the camera is going around in circles for like five minutes. There are two scenes in particular that are pretty hard to watch because they are so real. The acting in it is great, too.
-
Nine Lives (2002)
Paris Hilton
It was okay. The plot and writing were sub-par.
-
going to see Elizabethtown now. :)
-
going to see Elizabethtown now. :)
now that i've seen it, everyone else should too. very good movie...this years Garden State
-
word. im seeing it someday this week :)
i watched theres something about mary with my brother in law tonight..
-
I saw The Fog. My word of advice to you is don't see it. I mean, I could tell that it was going to be kinda crappy from the preview but my boyfriend and I just wanted to go the movies.
-
Just came back from the movies: I saw Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.
It was a pretty good comedy/crime/thriller.
ps: hey, it's funny, I just found out it's out in the States in November! We got it earlier, weird...
-
I saw Where The Heart Is with my mom on Friday night. 'Twas pretty good.
-
The Fog. It was okay. 6/10
-
Now and then....god i love that movie...
has anyone else seen it?
-
Watched Dirty Pretty Things. Good movie.
-
High Tension
one of the bloodiest movies I've ever seen. over the summer Ghisy mentioned that he didn't like the ending. I didn't mind the ending really, I just wasn't expecting it. :)
-
Now and then....god i love that movie...
has anyone else seen it?
When I was about 14 I was sooooooooo obsessed with that movie! It's great.
Last movie I saw: Elizabethtown :) I'll give it a 7.5 out of 10.
-

Airplane!

Final Destination..
-
House Of Wax: it was a pretty cool horror movie, not as bad as I heard everywhere...
-
I saw Stay today. It was blah.
-
aww :( really?
-
Boondock Saints. Pretty good. 6.5/10
-
I saw Stay today. It was blah.
really? looked like a good psychological thriller. i'll still prolly go see it as its one of my fav. genres
-
Yeah, the whole psychological thriller thing was what intrigued me about this movie. The end was just very disappointing and I found the storyline to be very lacking. However, Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, and Ryan Gosling did an excellent job and the editing of it was awesome. I went in to the theatre with really high expectations so maybe if you guys go with low expectations you'll like it better.
-
haha ill keep that in mind....
finally saw elizabethtown....alot better than i thought it would be...i usually dont like that kind of movie...but i liked it.
-
Saw
Saw II
bring on Saw III bitches
-
House of Wax. Love it. Well... I watched half of it on Wednesday and the other half Thursday. I'm just now posting it.
-
Harry Potter... and then secret something
I mean. . the second one..  :D
-
Back to the Future, Part I, II, and III. Yep, that's right.
October 26, 2005 - 20th Anniversary of the First Successful Demonstation of Time Travel 8)
-
Red Eye: it was a good thriller!
I don't know why some critics gave it so much sh*t! :?
-
Last night I saw Doom and tonight I saw Prime. Doom was much better than I thought it would be. I was very reluctant to go but my boyfriend wanted to see it, and after all the chick flicks I've made him watch I thought it only fair that I go. I'm glad I went cause it was very entertaining.
Prime on the other hand, I say wait till DVD. I love Uma, but this movie was just poop.
-
Bewitched
the second half was better than the slow beginning
-
THE SCORNED tonight on E! at 9PM. EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH!
-
Earlier tonight, Halloween night, I went to see Saw 2 (http://www.albumbuzz.com/moviebuzz/#saw2)
Awesome flick!
-
last night for Halloween I watched 2003s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
you know...for a remake, it wasnt all that bad...and I think I may have even enjoyed it more than the original. 8O

I watched The Scorned last night. 5.5/10

I just watched Elektra
it's not as bad as most critics made it out to be.

I need to watch Jurassic Park 3.... I have it on Netflix.
-
saw 2...kick ass!
-
Chicken Little
very cute movie. i liked it. :)
-
Saw Jarhead yesterday. It was really good although the end was a bit anti-climatic. Jake Gyllenhaal is hott and you get to see his butt a lot in this movie
-
^ i wanna see Jarhead. maybe tomorrow.
just watched Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
pretty good, visually amazing
-
Latest movies I've seen this past week:
- Match Point: it was very good! I don't usually wanna watch Woody Allen's movies but this one was worth it,
- Serenity: good sci-fi flick, now I wanna watch Firefly too!,
- Tim Burton's Corpse Bride: it was cute and funny, I'm not a Tim Burton's fan usually but I enjoyed the movie,
- Dukes Of Hazzard: it was funny, better than I expected it to be,
- The 40 Year-Old Virgin: good comedy!! I finally got to see it after everything I heard about it and I'm pretty sure I'll get the dvd.
-
I watched Jurassic Park 3 and There's Something About Mary yesterday.
-
The Jacket.
me likey :D
-
The Jacket ruled. I love how you can kind of interpret it however you want.
-
The Alamo. Very realistic and true to character. :D
-
I watched Interview With a Vampire. Very good.
-
I rented Saved and A Love Song for Bobby Long this weekend.
Saved was good, a little too campy for me, and Mandy Moore was way too over the top, even for the character. But it was a good story and Jena Malone was great, I've like her since StepMom.
John Travolta was brilliant as Bobby Long. I usually like Scarlet Johansen, but not as Percy. If you see it, see it for Travolta.
Also rented Ray but haven't watched it yet.

Mandy was unreal in that movie. You're the only one that thinks that. BOOOO!
I saw part of "Category 7" last night. Wow, it's bad.
-

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang... VERY good movie... it's a good mix of mystery, action and comedy... go see it!

Thank you!!!!
I think she's overrated in general, but her acting is better than her singing. But this is not Mandy Moore thread.
-
I finally saw Flight Plan!! (in French though...) but it was good!
I really enjoyed it :)
-
Derailed
i liked it. Jen Aniston was great...such a different role for her.
-
Sarah Silverman : Jesus is Magic
Much better.
I watched Kicking and Screaming yesterday.
-
haha....sorry Joey..haven't seen it yet
just watched Cannibal Holocaust...pretty disturbing and hard to watch at times.
-
Saw "Flightplan" last night--loved it.
Just watched "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"--and was quite disappointed.

really? wow...i loved it....3rd best of the year so far for me
Yeah...for me, the story seemed all over the place...but my main problem with it was the obnoxious oompa loompas. The music made me cringe. And Mr. Depp was seriously freaking me out.
-
Yesterday I saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose
and all I have to say is: a-m-a-z-i-n-g m-o-v-i-e
(http://image.ig.com.br/ultimosegundo/midias/0144001-0144500/144494.jpg)

I plan on seeing it, but not because of Tyler Hilton...have have no idea who that is. Phoenix is the man and will make this film what it is. Not sure if I'll have time this weekend to see it as I'll be working on a short film all day Sat. and Sun.
-
Just saw Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith again!
I hadn't seen it since the theatrical release and dang, this movie still kicks some major a**!!
Possibly one of the best SW movies ever.
-
Saw Harry Potter 4 last night. It was good. 8/10

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. :D
I can't wait to see "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and "Memoirs of a Geisha." :D :D :D
-
I took my little cousin to see Yours, Mine, and Ours. It was cute but not as good as the original, of course. Renee Russau can't beat Lucille Ball. No one can.
I also saw Brokeback Mountain. It was incredible.
-
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. :D
I can't wait to see "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and "Memoirs of a Geisha." :D :D :D
Hey I also wanna see Memoirs... when will it be out? I hope it's as good as the book :)

Memoirs opened in limited release Dec. 9 (or is opening ltd on 16th) and opens in wide release on Dec. 23rd
-
I just saw 'Walk The Line' last night. It's very good, about as good as you can get trying to tell a 24-year story in under two hours. If you can get past a couple of seemingly minor historical inaccuracies, you'll love it! :D

Yes, it's amazing. My brother asked me to get it for him for Christmas. :)
Last movie I saw: "Rent." I've never seen the play, so I don't have any emotional attachment to it. I thought it was OKAY...but I tend to think musicals are cheesy and this was no exception. There are a few GREAT songs, but for the most part it just wasn't my thing. Rosario was awesome, though!! She made me enjoy the film much more than I could have.
-
I saw 'Alice's Restaurant' the other day. It's great; I recommend it! :D
-
I saw "Saw" last night.
5/10 Sorry, BDub, I didn't enjoy it as much as anticipated.

That depends. Have I directed, produced, or starred in any movie you've reviewed up till now?

haha....that would be a no
-
OK, I take it back. NEGATIVE reviews suck. I think it would be cool if the typical review--for ANYthing--would always be done by a fan of the work. For instance, only a fan of Vanessa Carlton could do a review for her upcoming album! And that person would express WHY they're a fan...then maybe the people who wouldn't ordinarily give it a chance might see what's special in that person's art. :D
I see no need for someone who would NEVER be interested in a particular album, movie, concert, etc. to review it! They just don't GET IT! You know what I mean?

lol...I LOVE posh British phrases! :D
I use the word "bloody" a lot--in a British way, I mean. You guys still use that, right?
-
The Island. It was really good!
-
I use bloody all the time, but its euphemistic intent is lost to the fact that when I say it, it's followed by a string of other expletives.
-
Yeah it's often used while discussing the 'bloody weather'
-

Yes! I often say "...bloody-fucking..." haha
I curse like a sailor.

I use that phrase myself quite often. How nice! But if you think about it, that's a really gross thing to say. Another phrase I use on occasion out of surprise, be it good or bad, is "Well, s*** my pants!!"
And back to the subject, the last movie I saw was something about the Angel Doll. Based on a true story, I believe.
-
Just Friends is hilarious. Anna Faris owns me.
-
X-Men
-
Right now I'm in the process of watching Clerks: The First Cut from the Clerks X Tenth Anniversary Edition.
-
Chicken Little :D
-
Taxi
-
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
very good, kind of disturbing movie.
-
El cadaver de la novia (dunno how to say that in english :? )
-
King Kong.
Weird. And kinda corny, atleast towards the end. And WAY too long. Probably shouldn't have gone late at night, or at all for that matter haha.
-
El cadaver de la novia (dunno how to say that in english :? )
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride?
King Kong.
Weird. And kinda corny, atleast towards the end. And WAY too long
8O
Those 3 hours flew fast for me!
It' a damn good movie Gi!! Tssk tssk ;)

Nope, I'm not kidding!
I wasn't expecting this movie at all in the beginning but I have to say I was blown away by it!
But you know, everyone has different tastes ;) (and I was mostly teasing you! :P)

I really wasn't impressed, I mean parts of the movie were alright, but the ending was so drawn out and cheesy. Oh well 8)
-
Gina, are YOU kidding?
-
Cry_Wolf
pleasantly surprised by this one...not too shabby at all
-
Narnia...
amazing Movie!... 8O
-

See, I only found it average. Not bad but it could have been better!
-
Gina, are YOU kidding?
haha, no way. Couldn't stand it, sorrrry
-
The Family Stone
it was SO good. funny in some parts and serious in others, i found that by the end I really felt connected to the characters and didn't want the movie to end at all, you know? it's kind of a girly movie, but not corny or sappy.
-
The Fog (2005): I actually enjoyed this one! Not bad as several reviews said it was. :?
-
When A Stranger Calls (1979)
Not bad. It was kinda slow moving. Hopefully, the remake is better.
-
Hostage
pretty good...a wee bit of over acting on Willis' part though
A Tale Of Two Sisters
kind of a confusing asian horror movie, but everything is explained at the end...not too bad...could have been scarrier though.
-
Big Mommas House 2
for a sequel, it was pretty damn good.
-
Red Eye - very good, 8/10
-
Flightplan Love it!!!
-
Brokeback Mountain.
I can never be happy again *sob*
-
Shopgirl: wow, this movie was great! I wasn't expecting much from it and I was pleasantly surprised!
The story kind of sounds like Lost In Translation but it's all good because it was a great movie as well.
-
The Wedding Crashers
very funny, very good....probably the second funniest film of '05 :D
-
I just saw 'Walk The Line' last night. It's very good, about as good as you can get trying to tell a 24-year story in under two hours. If you can get past a couple of seemingly minor historical inaccuracies, you'll love it! :D
The producers can be forgiven for any historical inaccuracies (given the issues
like substance abuse that the film deals with, an excellent bio-pic with current
relevance and an appeal to a broader demographic). Deserves its own thread
(http://www.undercover.com.au/pics/walktheline.jpg)
Witherspoon is absolutely as irresistable as Phoenix is convincing; worth 8/10
-
I saw "Match Point." I liked it, but my boyfriend just thought it was "okay." It's not for everyone...it's for us "DARK" people. heh.
-
When A Stranger Calls
8/10
Really liked it.
-
Final Destination 3
-The movie was margainal at best (like the other two) but if you like slasher movies (I do) it was great. The kill scenes were really gory and the lead actress and the girl playing her sister were really pretty. Unfortunately the two girls that get naked are dogs, but, whatever.
If you arent' a fan of this genre, the movie sucked. But if you like slasher films like me, you'll be quite entertained.
-
Saw Capote. I really enjoyed it.
-
I'm in the middle of watching the Three Amigos right now. I'm about to resume it in a moment when I get done reading on here. It's so classic!
-
I just watched Psycho again (this time it was for a class).
I think it could be argued Psycho is the second most influential post silent-era film ever made. (after Citizen Kane, of course). That movie was the 1st to do sooooooo many things.
-
i watched Waiting... it had its moments of hilarity, but it really wasn't all that great
-
Right now, I'm in the middle of Great Balls of Fire! I'm right at the part where they move into the pink house with the blue door. :D
-
I saw "Match Point." I liked it, but my boyfriend just thought it was "okay." It's not for everyone...it's for us "DARK" people. heh.
The last Allen film I saw was Deconstructing Harry (http://members.tripod.com/bestfilms/woody.htm); is Match Point just as good? :?
-
I saw 2 movies last night:
- Just Friends: pretty funny and cute,
- Kiki's Delivery Service: I've been wanting to see it for a long time and it turned out to be a funny anime! (I loved the little black cat on it!)
-
Ultaviolet
6/10
I would recommend only seeing this movie if you're a fanboy.
-
I did a little Pixar marathon this weekend (and I'm not done yet!), I saw so far:
- Toy Story 2
- Monsters, Inc.
- Finding Nemo
These movies are absolutely amazing, it's a blast watching them over and over again.
Tonight, I may watch The Incredibles!
I also saw the unrated version of Wedding Crashers last night, which was one of the best comedy of last year I think.
-
i watched Saved on the plane home last saturday. i enjoyed it, and may watch it again soon just b/c it was hard to hear with only one earpiece
-
V for Vendetta is an awesome movie!! Everyone should go out and see it!
-
Thank you for the tip  the Australian release is March 30; I have been waiting
for some positive feedback before deciding on seeing this one opening week 8)
-
Crash
one of THE best movies I've ever seen. Everyone needs to see it!
-
My computer operations class just watched 'Pirates of Silicon Valley' again. This is like the third or fourth time I've seen it. I wish it was about two hours longer so there wouldn't be so many jumps in time.
-
16 Blocks damn good movie...Mos Def has become a very good actor.
-
I saw The Brothers Grimm and Crash on DVD this weekend.
My ratings:
Brothers Grimm: Baaaaaaaaaaaad and hard to follow, 2/10.
Crash. Wow, very good! 8/10.
-
V for Vendetta...amazing movie. go see it.

White Chicks
pretty funny movie
Lucky Number Slevin
very good movie...check it out
-
A.I: Artificial Intelligence
been awhile since i'd seen this one...its weird, but good
-
I watched Vanilla Sky on Friday. It was pretty good, although I hated Cameron Diaz in it. I don't know if I hated her character or just her in the role. I'm going to try to find the original Spanish version to compare. Penelope Cruz was brilliant though.
-
Ashleigh (my gf) and I saw The Hills Have Eyes like 2 days ago and I gotta say it was pretty good but kinda disturbing/gross!
I think I liked it more than she did :P
-
I watched Trapped (2002) with Charlize Theron, Kevin Bacon, and Courtney Love. Good film.

not bad, but not good...little gore, not a lot though
-
i just saw Scary Movie 4 over the weekend.
pretty funny(for the most part) there were a bunch of jokes i didnt laugh at though, but it was mostly funny.
-
Silent Hill
kind of a disappointment...it was ok, but i was hoping itd be better
I wouldn't go that far.
The movie was very good! Not to say it was perfect but probably one of the best adaptation of a videogame so far.
I really liked the general look of the movie (the backgrounds were fantastic!) and the soundtrack was excellent.

-
You should play the game...
Oh yes...you will sweat...you will sweat real hard...
Play it in the dark, alone!!
XD
-
The Warriors and Lord of War
The Warriors is a great classic...if you havent seen it check it out.
Lord of War is really good too...

Oh my god...it is so depressing. I'm glad I saw it, though. I feel like it was really well done. Even though we're not exactly sure what happened on that flight, I think it is more "real" to me now that I've seen this film...because, in a way, I was so far removed from 9/11, being in Tulsa & knowing nobody directly involved in the attacks.
If you can handle it, you should see this film.

-
ooops.. double post
-
at the Tribeca Film Festival yesterday I saw:
The One Percent
Journey to the End of the Night
Lonely Hearts
Comeback Season
all really good films. Look for Lonely Hearts to hit theaters later this year. It stars John Travolta and James Gondolfini, both of whom I saw last night briefly, but unfortunately didn't get to meet.
Comeback Season was really good as well, possibly my second favorite...stars Ray Liotta.
The One Percent is a really good documentary directed by Jamie Johnson, the heir to the Johnson & Johnson fortune. The film is about the wealth gap in america...Johnson kind of makes his family look bad here, but by the end has somewhat of an understanding of his father...who was quiet and clearly not happy that his son was making this film...
Journey to the End of the Night stars Brendan Fraser, Catalina Sandina Moreno (HOTTTT!!!) and Scott Glenn...pretty good thriller
-
The Godfather Parts I, II, and III. My favorite movie of all time.
-
mision imposible....... III
8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O Amazing movie! I saw it yesterday!.. one of the best I have seen!
-

-
Virgin Suicides - Good movie... 8/10
-
art school confidential
it was funny
saw it last weekend
not best movie ever - but amusing
-
Mission: Impossible, Mission: Impossible II and Mission: Impossible III
all three, right in a row. Had seen the first a few times. Great movie. First time seeing part two, I enjoyed it, although John Woo used too many of his slow-motion action sequences...
and part 3...best of the series. Phillip Seymore Hoffman was brilliant as the bad guy. What a GREAT actor!
-
MI: III
good movie, bad ending!! :?
Kinda disappointed in JJ Abrams on this one...
-
The Da Vinci Code
Ron Howard did a good job!
Good movie, the actors were fine (except for the bad English accent that Audrey Tautou has...).
If you liked the book, you'll probably love the movie.
I recommend it :)

lol...yes, she's French, but she talks in English, so that's what he meant. Anyway, I'm a big Audrey fan, so I was fine with it.
I too enjoyed the film. I'd give it like an 8 out of 10.

What I meant was: Sophie is supposed to have a perfect English accent in the book because her grandpa made her learn the language while growing up.
And Audrey doesn't have that perfect accent. ;)
-
Brokeback Mountain - extremely, extremely, extremely good! I read the short story last year before I heard they were making a movie. It was beautifully shot, well written, and amazingly acted by Jake and Heath. Ang Lee desrved his Oscar!
Capote - Brilliant! PSH was amazing, definately a well deserved Oscar. And who knew the guy from Judging Amy could put together a deeply researched, well written script on his first attempt at a screenplay! I loved how Harper Lee had a supporting role and the way To Kill A Mockinbird (my favorite book) was worked into the script.
Flight Plan - didn't live up to my expectations. It was supposed to be a thriller of sorts but I wasn't really thrilled. Peter Sarsgaard was pretty good, and Sean Bean was yummy as usual.
Elizabethtown - some good moments but again, didn't live up to the hype. Cameron Crowe has done some great work like Almost Famous and Vanilla Sky, but Elizabethtown fell flat for me. Although it was great to see Paula Dean in a movie!!!!! Go FoodNetwork!
Walk the Line - Fabulous! Can't think of much more than that.
Da Vinci - Major let down for me. I thought Tom Hanks played an awful Robert Langon. Liberties were taken with the plot (especially at the end) that were rediculous, and there was NO chemistry between Audrey Tatau and Tom. Iam McKellen's performance was the only saving grace to the film. They should have made it into the Teabing Show for all the good the rest of the film did. And, (this is Dan Brown's fault) there are NO monks in Opus Dei!
-
on friday i watched:
Crash
on saturday i watched:
The Brotherhood of the Wolf
The Weather Man
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
on sunday i watched:
X-Men
X2: X-Men United
X-Men: The Last Stand
on monday i watched:
Copland
-
i've seen walk the line, da vinci code recently, narnia and GropeSack Mountain, i mean, AssCrack........ oops, BrokeBack Mountain!!!!
-
Wedding Crashers on DVD.. It was funny.
-
I saw The Omen last night... I couldn't even sleep! :?.. it mights be the first movie that really scares me
-
Capote
really good. Philip Seymore Hoffman is a brilliant actor and totally earned his Oscar win.
-
Walk the Line
fucking amazing....excellent excellent movie
-
Walk the Line

Amen.
-
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
good movie...kind of a weak ending though...I mean to go through all of that trial, just to have it end that way...i dunno. Definately see the movie if you havent b/c it is good...and Laura Linney and Tom Wilkinson are great in it.
-
I was dragged to X-Men 3. The special effects were good, but I thought the whole thing was hilarious, cause of the various scenes of destruction. The whole plot was a bit stupid.
-
Are there actually any good movies out that a classy, intelligent girl would enjoy? Just wondering.
-
lol. The Da Vinci Code might be part of the intelligent thing. United 93? Or was it 94? I don't really pay attention to those things.
-
lol. The Da Vinci Code might be part of the intelligent thing. United 93? Or was it 94? I don't really pay attention to those things.
lol, I already saw both of those films. Both of them were pretty good. Oh, & it was 93.
-
See No Evil
not that bad, but not that good either
-
Just saw The Ringer for the first time the other day. I thought I'd hate it because I thought I'd find it offensive, especially because I work with Special Needs kids, but they worked with the Special Olympics to do the movie, and I actually thought it was hilarious.... 8)
-
Last night saw Nacho Libre (5/10) and Kill Bill Vol. 1 (9/10). This afternoon, I watched half of Kill Bill Vol. 2.
-
The Squid and the Whale- indie film about a family in the 80's in Brooklyn. The parents are getting divorced and it examines what happens to their sons as they adapt.
Corpse Bride - good, but not as great as Nightmare Before Christmas!
Crash- watched it twice in a row last night. Everyone should see it.
The Producers- better than I thought it would be, i was histerical laughing the whole time!
Pride and Prejudice- Great interpretation of one of my favorite books.
-
I've wanted to see The Squid and the Whale for awhile, it sounds good. Corpse Bride was wonderful, it was very well made, but I agree, not as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas. I saw a small part of Crash, and even the small part was great, I'monna rent the rest sometime. Rent was good too, I saw that the other day.
-
March of the Penguins
i'm not quite sure what the hype was all about...i'm not much of a documentary film watcher though...
it was cute, funny and at times even sad...pretty good overall.
-
I just finished "Donnie Darko"... it was very, very good, but I'm not sure. It just kind of left me with this weird feeling, like, all these questions and stuff. I'm going to let it sit with me for a couple days and then watch it again.
-
Shrek 1.
haha, ok so I've seen it a million times, but it's a whole different experience when you're watching it with 4 Autistic kids. Haha. Oh how I love those kids, and that movie! 8)
-
That seemed a bit random. I watched "La Vie en Rose", a rather . . . unique tale of a gender-confused 7-year-old boy.
-
I saw Man of the House, Wolf Creek, and The Producers recently.
The Producers was awesome; Springtime for Hitler was hilarious.
Wolf Creek was better than Hostel. Crazy Aussies.
Man of the House was surprisingly enjoyable. Seriously. :p
-
The Boondock Saints - excellent movie
The Hire - 8 cool short films created by BMW...really cool
Cellular - not such a bad movie, better than i expected...although the credits at the end showing on cell phones....fucking gay, haha
-
The Boondock Saints - excellent movie
I've heard from friends that they loved it, what's it about?
I saw click today. I liked it a lot. :) I love all of Adam Sandlers movies, Rob Schneider was in it as Prince Habibi (lol) and my favorite Nick Swardson was in it too awesome, I love all these guys. And once again Adam Sandler included another family of O Doyle's that he hates haha
O Doyle Rules!
-
The Boondock Saints - excellent movie
I've heard from friends that they loved it, what's it about?
It's about these two Irish boys who are also hitmen. I liked it, too, but that's as close as I can remember to the plot.
Watched Lord of War... good movie.

well, they're not so much boys haha...but they are two guys who decide to go out and kill criminals (mainly those in various mobs in Boston)...it really is a great movie, you should check it out.
-
I'll have to rent it sometime. thanks
-
go for it.
i watched today
Arlington Road - been awhile since i've seen it. its really good.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith - still a fun fun fun movie even the second time around
-
Nacho Libre - really not as funny as i thought it would be, but not too bad i guess

word. the visual effects are amazing
-
I saw Superman on Wednesday. Yum.
-
I just saw "Click" this afternoon. It was funny yet very emotional at certain times.
-
Superman - loved it! Brandon Routh was amazing.
Hostel - Boring.
The Hills Have Eyes - Retarded/Gross. (Retarded = a retired detective, on his way to california takes instructions from a weird, creepy, gas pump man alone in the middle of nowhere telling him to take a shortcut through the hills, or he can just stay on the road and stick to the map. thus, he's a retard!)
Fun with Dick and Jane - Very Funny, a lot better than what I had expected.
Underworld Evolution - Not really into action, but I liked this one a whole lot! except for the heavy sex scene.
Annapolis - Reminded me a lot of An Officer and A Gentleman with Richard Gere and Debra Winger. Wasn't really into Annapolis.
-
Mr. & Mrs. Smith - It was a lot of fun to watch. :D
-
Pirates of The Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest
-
The Devil Wears Prada!!!! It was wonderful! Meryl Streep was amazing, as usual.

-
"Reeker" - it was sooo shit
-
Over The Hedge: I LOVED it!!!!
The french dubbing was just alright but the movie in itself is absolutely hilarious!
Let the dvd come soon! :D
-
Sin City
Loved it. 8.5/10
-
Lost Souls - not too bad of a movie.
Swordfish - good ol' fashion mindless fun  it had been awhile since i'd seen it. pretty damn enjoyable
-
last night I finally got to see:
SUPERMAN RETURNS
I loved it! It stayed true to SupI&II. It was beautiful.
-
I really wanna see that.
and one of my favorite bands is on the soundtrack.
So, that rocks.
-
last night I finally got to see:
SUPERMAN RETURNS
I loved it! It stayed true to SupI&II. It was beautiful.
I just can't believe it didn't make as much money as they (and even I) thought it was going to make. :( It was such a good movie!!! One of the most expensive to make too.
-
I was disappointed by Superman Returns: the movie was a bit too long (it gets boring at times) and the script wasn't the best (you don't really know where the story is going until half of the movie is already gone!).
The SFX were cool, except for a couple of times (ie when young Clark Kent is jumping all over the fields).
I'm not saying it was a bad movie overall but it could have been better.
-
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire- because I haven't seen it since it opened in theatres
RENT- soooo good. i don't see where people had such problems with the film adaptation. I thought it was brilliant and the changes were minimal. Watched it three times this weekend.
p.s.- independent film with Laura Linney about an admissions counselor who thinks one of her applicants to Colombia is the reincarnate of her dead high school sweetheart. I love Linney and Topher Grace gives an amazing performance. The plot is a little stretched but the acting is amazing.
Oliver Twist- not the musical version from 1968, but a 2005 adaptation by Roman Polanski. Excellent.

I still looove it, can't watch it enough times. True there are some differences, but the film is still great!
-
The Truman Show
great...GREAT...movie
-
I have never seen "Rent" could any tell me what is it about? :?:
-
I just finished "Lost Highway". It's really, really, really confusing. Good, but confusing.
-
You, Me, & Dupree
The film was a little better than I expected it to be. It had its funny moments, HOWEVER...and I totally blame the theater for this...the screen was shifted down a bit, causing sometimes a black strip across the top, and other times you could see film equipment along the top (boom pole, lighting...)...the reason I blame the theater is because, from a film making standpoint, NO director/editor wouldve release a film that showed that much equipment...if they did, they shouldn't be working in the business...
..now if anyone else has seen the movie and experience this as well, that I'm completely wrong...
-
Event Horizon
what a cool movie :D
-
The Devil Wears Prada.
YEAH, BABY!
-
Superman Returns
and
Garfield 2 8)

-
Scarface

-
You Me and Dupree.
I was forced to, and it was horrible.
Donnie Darko
Brilliant, and I'd gladly see it again. For all of the people who think it's a senseless horror film, it's not; everyone on this planet should see it. :D
-
Dazed and Confused. Classic.
-
Edward Scissorhands
always been a fantastic movie, always will be. The combination of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp is always a great thing.
-
^ Except for "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory." IMO ^

One of my favorite movies, up there with Saved!, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Mulholland Drive.
I watched Scoop (hilarious!) and She's the Man (funny) this weekend. Everyone should see Scoop while it's in theatres.
-
^ Except for "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory." IMO ^

i loved that movie :)
I actually think Sleepy Hollow was the best Burton/Depp collaboration. Too bad no one really remembers it, and it was grossly underrated.

i think Sleepy Hollow was a good movie, def. underated, but I dont think it was their best collaboration...Edward Scissorhands in just plain brilliant.
(I need to see Ed Wood, I've heard great things about that one too)

Superman Returns

-
Tristan + Isolde
So sad!
-
Tristan + Isolde

Yeah...Tristan kinda pissed me off. Duty over love. Ugh. :? She loved him more. Pretty good film, though.

The Wedding Singer (the longer version): I love this movie!!! Too funny and cute!
And pretty cool 80's music as well. 8)
-
POTC 2 .......Loved it!!!!!!! Cant wait for Scoop to release here in INDIA!!
-
Saw Talladega Nights... was disappointing. I was expecting a 10/10 movie and I got a 6/10 movie.
-
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
It was pretty good, a bit long at times but good overall, I had a good time watching it! I'm eager to see the 3rd one.
RV
It was a fun summer movie, I was a bit disappointed though cause I thought it'd be funnier than that. Oh well...
-
Miami Vice
Where it wasn't Michael Mann's best film, it was still pretty good. I love his style of film making (used the same in Collateral...his best film i feel)
-
i watched requiem for a dream last night again... it's one of my favorite movies..

I rented I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. It was bad, but in a good way.
-
Last weekend I saw "Step Up." I've just been in a dancin' mood lately 'cause I got addicted to the show, "So You Think You Can Dance." So the movie wasn't very good, but I liked it anyway 'cause I love almost anything related to dance.
-
Beautiful - With Minnie Driver <3
Simply Irresistable - With Sarah Michelle Gellar
Bram Stokers Dracula - With Winona Ryder
I love romance :D

This movie was wayyy too weird for me. :?
i love it because it is so different from most movies, it is creative, and a good adaptation of the book. the way they portrayed the highs of the drugs whether it was heroine or the diet pills that the old woman was addicted to...
also the music was absolutley fantastic and one of the best movie scores in my opinion...
weird movies are good because it means its out of the ordinary, and who wants to watch something mundane?
-
the most recent movie i saw in the movie theater was pirates 2...
it dragged on a little bit sometimes but i was very entertained. i love the way johnny depp plays his character and the type of humour he uses.... but for some reason my best friend and i were laughing at parts that no one else laughed at lol so i think we have some special type of appreciation for strange humour
-
Requiem for a Dream- I saw it when I was 16 or 17 late at night over a friends house and I thought it was very, very weird. I like weird movies, but it was a little too much for me. Maybe I was still too young, but the forced sex between the two girls (if I'm remembering correctly) really disturbed me at the time.
And speaking of disturbing, I saw The Descent this past weekend and it was the most gory movie I think I've seen that I can remember. And with how the first half of the movie is, you don't expect it. It had really on point sound effects that just made the gore that much more head-turningly gross. I liked the idea of an all girl cast not being sl*tty the whole time, but I felt like it was more of a disturbing experience than an all around good movie. But that said, I think it's worth seeing as horror films go.

yeah it can be a bit much to take, esp at that age, because i'm 20 and it still disturbed me.... but that's the point of the movie.... to portray how addicted these people are to drugs that they are willing to do these horrible things that they wouldn't normally do... and its hard to portray that if you sugar coat it to make it a happy movie... which in that case the movie would have been crap.
-
watched Doom last night...i enjoyed it. fun sci-fi/horror film.

I watched Green Mile yesterday. Good movie..

It was different, kinda of disturbing but it was good.
I watched Akeelah and the Bee Loved it! It was so cute. A happy cry movie. There was also a sad cry part but I am a big sap so I was probably the only one who did.
As far as movies in the theater, I haven't been in forever! I would like to see the Black Dahlia and Hollywoodland movies.
-

Really good movie, excellent cast and acting, check it out.
-
I also want to see "The Science of Sleep," but I'm not sure it's going to come out in my town... :?
-
Mary Reilly
pertty good take on the Jekyll and Hyde story seen from the viewpoint of one of his house maids. Julia Roberts and John Malkovich are great in this
-
Lilja 4-ever - the saddest movie I've ever seen.
-
I also want to see "The Science of Sleep," but I'm not sure it's going to come out in my town... :?
OK, I saw it last night! I liked it, but it's certainly not for everyone. I didn't really understand it, but thought it was hilarious...& I just love quirky films in general.
-
Watched "Simon Birch" in my Faith and Sacraments class and I watched half of "The Fifth Element" last night at midnight, but I got too tired. Love that movie.
-
Just Friends
i enjoyed it...pretty funny
-
I just saw Silent Hill, cause i never saw it before....
yeah it was cool.
-
Just watched Akeelah and the Bee the other day. Had been absolutely dying to see it (anything Starbucks and I'm THERE) I give it 5 stars. Loved every minute of it, not just the story of Akeelah.. the girl from the ghetto trying to win the Bee, but the family tension with the single mom and the father-daughter relationship between Akeelah and her coach. I love the scene where Akeelah's coach has her read this off a portrait on the wall in his study:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
Man!!! I feel like I struggle with that fear ever day. I was watching the 'making of' in the special features and apparently the casting directors had the Akeelah-wannabes "read" that quote off the wall, even though there was no wall and no quote to read... just memorization. Keke, who plays Akeelah, was the only girl who actually moved her eyes as if she were actually reading. She did a fantastic job in the movie too. I really recommend this one.
-
Crash
-
Kicking and Screaming - it wasn't too bad, but not nearly Will Ferrells funniest film....still love the guy...he's hilarious
-
I rented "You and Me and Everyone We Know" from Netflix. I gotta say, it was HORRIBLE. I just didn't see the point. :?
-
Million Dollar Baby
really good movie, however, very sad, and i think the ending did drag on a bit too long....and normally i love longer movies.
otherwise, really good, and def. worthy of all the oscars it got
-

Everything is Illuminated
(Not a pretty movie... but still pretty??)
Here's some dialogue:
She wants to know why Augustine buried her wedding ring...
...when she thought she would be killed.
So there'd be proof that she existed?
To remember her.
No. I don't think so.
In case...
In case someone should come searching one day.
So they would have something to find.
No, it does not exist for you.
You exist for it.
You have come because it exists.
She says the ring is not here because of us.
We are here because of the ring.
-
^I remember wanting to see that...
-
DO. Be warned, you'll probably want to watch it again.
Just add it to your queue!
-
I rented Monster House yesterday. it was very funny bit also a really smart script. The live-action animation technique was cool to see on the special features, too.
-
The Prestige - Made me hate everyone! I liked thought, makes you think at the end.
-
Madagascar - cute movie, i liked it[/u]

Oh my god, I cried so ridiculously, embarassingly hard when I saw that movie. Wow.
I actually wrote a song about it, but it was kinda cheesy. "You can't hear me where you are. But I'm so sorry you had to go through something I can't even fathom..."

I enjoyed it. Happy tears. I love true stories.
-
Little Fish (Australia)
Great.. Great..
I liked the accent most
-
The Lizzie Maguire Movie... or whatever it's called. Had to watch this with my lil cousins. probably worth watching just so you can laugh at her horrible attempt at an accent. I kept cracking up and my cousins would be like why are you laughing? -cuz it's cheezy, but that's okay because thats why we love disney so much, right?- oh yea, right.
-
The Illusionist good movie!
-
Catch and Release

just saw donnie darko and i was deeply disappointed.
the movie made zero sense to me.
-
Haha. It made no sense to me either
I had to read this (http://dir.salon.com/story/ent/movies/feature/2004/07/23/darko/index.html) to understand it, then watch it again.

They put the "Fun" in dysfunctional! :D

Catch and Release
in theaters? How was it? I love movies like that.
-
Yeah, I saw it at the movies. It wasn't that great. Disappointing really. I doubt it is still out but definitely a renter.
I watched Shut Up and Sing last night. I really enjoyed it. Crazy all that happened from one statement/opinion. But boy did they show everyone!!

So last night I saw Zodiac. Like 3 hours but totally didn't seem like it. Really good movie and it happened in my hood.
-

Myr friends and I just saw Wild Hogs yesterday night, it was so funny. Innapropriate with gay references and such but overall the movie was a good laugh.
-
About a Boy
-
The Holiday - Very cute movie, Jude Law is so hawt.
Shopgirl - Claire Danes and Steve Martin did a great job together.
Pride & Prejudice - Matthew Macfayden (so cute!) and Keira Knightly
The Return - I really did like it, I'm really into the reincarnation stuff.
Harvard Man - Way too much banging...
Heathers - Wow! Winona Ryder is a GREAT actress to have done that, Christian Slater bugs me.
Strangers With Candy - Stephen Colbert and "Jerry" were freaking hysterical.
and finally...
SPIDER-MAN 2 - Finally saw this! I LOVED it, I was so happy when they got together at the end. True love conquers all!
I watched all of these on my deathbed (I was VERY sick for a few days) so I went out bought some movies and watched them all and I liked pretty much all of them.
-
About a Boy
That movie is so... Mmm... Different. 8)

Yeah, it wasn't my favorite. I rented it 'cause I'm on a huge Hugh Grant kick right now. He was funny, as usual, but overall the movie was pretty weird & even disturbing.
-
Two Weeks Notice is a good one with Hugh Grant not to mention Notting Hill. Two movies I can watch over and over and still laugh, smile, and cry.

Two Weeks Notice is a good one with Hugh Grant not to mention Notting Hill. Two movies I can watch over and over and still laugh, smile, and cry.
Yeah, I recently saw "Notting Hill" again & loved it! I should rent "Two Weeks Notice" soon 'cause I love Sandra Bullock as well.

And why is that, exactly?
-
Little Miss Sunshine... such a good movie, and so quotable.

Little Miss Sunshine... such a good movie, and so quotable.
That's the last movie I saw too! I finally got around to it. I loved it!!
-
well in the theaters Apacalypto...GREATNESS! AWESOME 10/10 stars!
-
Pan's Labyrinth... totally not what I expected. One of those movies that leaves you thinking at the end. Also a couple very graphic scenes... be careful with the kiddies and just cover their eyes at the bad parts.
-
In The Land of Women - on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 5. It wasn't as great as I thought it was going to be.

Aw, man! I want to see that.... :?
-
Georgie Rule.
It was surprisingly better than I thought it was going to be, the Critics gave it a C- overall and I thought it was great! Funny, sad, happy...the whole movie was really amazing and I would definitely see it again or better yet buy it on DVD when it comes out!
-
The most recent movie I saw was The Hills Have Eyes 2... It was cool, there were some really good freaky parts, I liked it a lot but I expected it to be scarier... I slept like a baby after seeing it... 8) One of the things I really liked was they took the same soundtrack for the second movie too...
Before the movie I saw the Hostel part II trailer and I was so excited!! I'm so planning to see this movie!! Looks sooo goood just like the first one...

I totally loved that movie. I think it's inappropriate for children mainly because of the cruelty of the story, I think many of them can take some of the bloody scenes.
-
ya I just saw Shakespeare In Love.... amazing. one of the best love scenes ever. gotta love the queen, too.
also saw Girl Interrupted. Angelina Jolie was perfect for her role. kinda boring in parts, but it makes you think and it's pretty entertaining overall.
-
just saw Ocean's 13 last night...
It was alright, but I think the first one was the best.
story was predictable and there wasn't enough action

ditto to all of that!

Pirates 3 - EXTREMELY disappointing, especially since i loved the first one (second one was okay)
-
I get to watch movies so rarely that I actually just suspended our Netflix account because we'd had the same damn movies for three months!
-

yea I did the same thing! Except with 3 Season 1 Lost discs.. oops.
oh and I just say Paris J'Teme (or however you spell it) ==== Such a beautiful movie. It's like 15-20 little vignettes, little love stories taking place in Paris. Some of them are really creative, like one with a mime who finds his love, or the one with Frodo (can't remember his name!!! Dammit) and the vampire. most of them are conventional, but just really thought provoking. I'm definitely buying it.
-
Really wanted to see Pan's Labyrinth... Now it's done
And I loved it more than everything!! That was sooooo good. Lovely, beautiful, breathtaking, ... 10/10!!!! Now one among my favourites movies of all time!!!
-

I saw that last week (was dying to see it!)...I agree, it was very good, but very sad. The bad guy was one of the most evil bad guys I've ever seen.

 Yeah that was a really sad movie... I was pretty shocked by the cruelty of some of the scenes (especially one of the last scenes 8O ...)...
-
Knocked Up
i liked it...very funny...although they showed something at the end that wasn't really necessary...
-
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Great film :D I loved it xD.
-
Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" yesterday.
Awesome movie, I was cracking up half the time.
Weird thing though: it's rated the equivalent of PG13 here (8O) and it's clearly an R-rated movie (could even be an NC17 movie).
-
Knocked Up -- extremely funny... and surprisingly graphic! 8O
-
Dead Silence
It sucked. Made me want to scream just to get my tongue cut off so I wouldn't have to see it again.
-
Ocean's 13. Was alright, though I was incredibly tired during it so that may have hindered my experience :)
-
shrek the third. Loved It
-
Hostel: part II ===> Soooo coool! I liked it a lot just like the first one! :D
-
Carrie with Sissy Spacek.
this movie was sooo boring and the ended was just stupid too.
and Hard Candy, pretty creepy movie definitely had a strange twist to it that I had no idea was coming.
-
Bobby
about Robert Kennedy. loved it.
-
Cellular.
OMG. OMG. That movie was crazy. sooo good though. OMG.
lol
-
Shrek The Third. I enjoyed it.
-
hehe Legally Blond last night.
-
I saw Ratatoulle. See this movie! It's good and different! The animation is spectacular. The Pixar Short beforehand was great too.
-
Isolation ==> Strange and creepy movie, but really good! I like it a lot though it scared me too...
-

I did, too. And I didn't find it to be boring. Slow-paced, yes, but that's not a put-down. I loved it. I own the DVD.
-
Today I saw "Ratatouille" & I loved it. :D
-
Transformers, it's so good, everyone should go see it. :D

I actually bought the movie the day it came out and it didn't follow the history that I had remembered, did Sofia Coppola do that on purpose?

yea I just saw this tonight! It was really good -- i love pixar. My coworkers told me to go see it with them because apparently I look just like Linguini and my mannerisms are the same. I have to say it is kinda weird... maybe I should sue pixar.
----
edit: just thought I'd add that I went to this weird place in Paris where they held Marie before they put her under the guillotine. LET THEM EAT CAKE

I'm not sure. All I know is she based the movie on a particular biography that came out a few years ago - one that is obviously a little biased toward Marie Antoinette.

heh thats not in cinemas here yet. they just advertised it

Finally saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yesterday!
It was good. As always, there is a bunch of stuff missing from the books but they are impossible to adapt in a 2 hour-movie format.
So I think David Yates has done a good job with the 5th book.

Well, I just really enjoyed it. I just remember her being a nasty person and I was glad what happened to her and King Louis. I just thought it was a better side to Marie Antoinette, and gossip that was probably actually written in history which may have never been true. Now it always makes me wonder if that was the real Marie Antoinette, not what I had read, what people wanted us all to believe.
-
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX :D
-
well what i enjoyed about the movie was the history... because i've been to the palace (versailles) and saw some of marie antoinettes belonging at an art gallery in london, so it was kind of cool to picture the fact that she actually lived there and know that i've stood in rooms that she had been in.. its creepy to think about..
-
I watched 1408 in theatres yesterday. Great film. One of the best films this year.
-
The Pursuit of Happyness.
I thought it was very good!

-
Stardust
The Nanny Diaries
The Da Vinci Code (finally)
The Quiet (a MUST see!)
When a Stranger Calls
I REALLY loved Stardust, Nanny Diaries was cute, the Da Vinci code was okay didn't really get into it, and when a stranger calls was just disappointing. The Quiet was SO good, better than what I had expected.
-
Ace In The Hole
Adventures of Aurora Snow
Revenge of the Aliens

-
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.
Saw it on opening day (The 11th). Of course I loved it, I mean, it was Dungeon Siege, fantasy, action and adventure. Comedy of course, because Matthew Lillard was on it. The main character (Farmer, or Kanden) was played by Jason Statham, and Burt Reynolds played the king of Ehb. Everyone in the theatre laughed like, the first three times they saw Burt. It was so funny.
It was really great, and clearly not only for game-lovers as only the start was basically the same as the game, other than references to Ehb (the kingdom) Stonebridge (a village) and Glaciern (another village).
I don't know if any of you know what Dungeon Siege is or much less like it, but I know I do, and it's a really great movie. 4/5.
The only point I knocked off was because the end, I felt, stopped too abruptly.
-
idr in wat order...but in the past month...
High School Musical 2 (for the 50th time!!!! LOL)
Final Destination 3 (for the like 100th time---cause the star Mary Elizabth Winstead reminds me of Vanessa...so I watch it over and over again and pretend it's Vanessa LOL!!!!!!)
Step Up (again....!!!)
Raising Helen...but i keep catching it at around the same time(on TV) and its driving me CRAZZY!!! LOL :P

I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. I would get it straightaway. Dungeon Siege is like, the best thing that ever happened since Dungeons and Dragons, lol.
-
Meet the Spartans was hillarious, but only like an hour and 20 minutes! i was like wtf isnt there more!?
but last weekend i saw the Orphange and it was in spanish, i thought it was english, so i was like ok great i have to read subtitles the whole movie. but it wasnt good and the ending wasnt clear so dont waste your money on it.
I saw one missed call a few weeks ago as well and it was really bad too.
I cant wait for the eye to come out, i am seeing it with friends for my B-day and it looks really good to me so i cant wait.
i also wanna see cloverfield, is it good? is it worth seeing?
-

No offense, but I can see by these two remarks that your taste in movies is not to be trusted, unless you mature as a person and your sensibilities develop into something more... desirable.
Meet the Spartan is to movies what Jessica Simpson is to the art form of acting.
To keep on topic with the thread, I saw There Will Be Blood last weekend and I was absolutely blown away by it. Daniel Day-Lewis's performance was one of the best that I've ever witnessed and the movie was basically perfect. If you haven't seen it yet, then I highly recommend that you do.
-
We watched West Side Story in chorus today, we're doing it for our spring recital! There are solos and I really want to get the solo in Maria... it's such a lovely song.
-
i saw the eye and the invasion on saturday and then i saw firewall [which i had already seen] on monday

The Bridge (http://www.thebridge-themovie.com/new/index.html)
Over the span of a year, director Eric Steel's cameras capture tormented souls attempting to commit suicide by leaping from San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. Through poignant interviews with family, friends and eyewitnesses, the film reveals a common thread of depression, despair and chronic mental illness. This provocative documentary further reinforces the landmark's iconic legacy as the world's most popular suicide destination.
Very intense, but interesting. 24 people jumped in 2004. They actually do show these people jumping off. Crazy! But like the description says they do talk to the family and friends trying to figure out what made them do this.
I also watched King of Kong. (http://www.billyvssteve.com/) If you have Netflix you can watch it instantly.
When Steve Wiebe got laid off, he turned to the classic arcade game Donkey Kong for solace; soon, he decided to challenge Billy Mitchell's long-standing record score. So began the bitter rivalry that lies at the heart of this curiously compelling documentary. Providing a history of competitive video gaming and a look at some of the key players, The King of Kong is at its best when revealing just how far Mitchell will go to retain his crown.

Step Up 2
one of the best movies ive seen this yearr! :D
The songs and dance scenes are so up-beat!
My friend and I stood up and danced through almost the whole thingg! :D
-
Sweeny Todd.
Although I wasn't really paying adequate attention, I really liked it and will definitely watch it again to pick up more of the plot.
Pies! Yummm.
-
I don't see any freaking new movies.
-
Thread revival time!
The last movie I watched (that I can remember) was Horton Hears a Who. It was pretty freakin excellent, even though it's a kid's movie, it caters to a much wider audience imo.
Ooh and I just remembered that I watched The History Boys a few weeks ago, and I loved that movie as well. (I have a sneaking suspicion that I am inclined to like almost any movie...unless it is horrendous)
GO WATCH HISTORY BOYS KTHNXBI.
-
'Get Smart' with Steve Carrel and Anne Hathaway.
Pretty funny. I actually laughed at most parts. Saw Steve Carrel's butt. Blech. 8O
I'll give it a 8.5/10
-
I watched some Freddy Krueger movie yesterday. it killed two hours....how ironic.
-
Me and some friends saw the Zohan. It wasnt very good, kind of funny but not realy. I give it a C.
-
I just saw Get Smart. Funny but I agree with shinessobright07 in not liking the Steve Carrel butt scene
-

it was a bad movie.
-
The Happening. I semi liked the movie but as it went on I liked it less. Plus the ending just killed it. The ending was just horrible. Never going to watch that one again. After Signs, M. whatever his name is *its way to long and I don't know how to spell it* he's just gone down hill. The Village, The lady in the water, and Now this one. He's just lost his touch.
-

I agree! So disappointing, I loved Signs and some of his older films.
I saw Get Smart, I think Steve Carrell is one of the most annoying actors. He tries too hard to be funny when he's not. Everything he does to be funny is predictable, I already know what he's going to do or say to get a laugh.
-
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 I liked it a lot, loved the first one more.
Awake - Freaky! That one sure took a twist I didn't see coming
Prom Night crazy whoa that guy was demented.
-
i saw mirrors in the theaters a few days ago. i laughed and it was supposed to be scary.
-
mysterious skin, HIGHLY recommend it. :)
other movies that are a must: Lie with me and My blueberry nights.
-
I went to see Saw V tonight. It was pretty good.
-
I watched Interview With A Vampire! I know its old but it happened to be on On Demand!
-
Last movie I SAW: Hard Candy. Cool horror/drama that really wasn't that scary, but pretty neat. Great acting.
Most notable recent move I saw: Hansel & Gretel, a subtitled Korean horror/fantasy/surreal film I found on watch-movies.net. For like 60% of the movie I kept thinking how can this end and really make up for its weirdness, but it was good. There are kids in it that were just awesome actors, alot better than most of the American child stars. I'd recommend it if you are into weird movies.
-

Yeah, that movie is pretty awful. Good thing I pirated it and didn't waste my money.
-

Idk why but I really, really liked Lady in the Water. But I love almost anything that has a literary tone, to be honest. I heard so many horrible things about it I expected it to be laugh out loud awful and I thought it was really cool. Again, I like weirdness. But Paul Giametti's (sp) character was so good, I felt so bad for him... he is good in everything though, one of my fav actors. What I didn't like was M Night casting himself as the revolutionary save the world role. Aside from that I liked it, but that I guess is a huge pitfall given the plot of the movie, haha.
-
The Duchess - It reminded me somewhat of Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst. I enjoyed it, I just felt bad for Georgiana because women in those times did not have many options or happiness.
The Babysitters - Excellent! I was expecting an erotic mess of a film. I liked the plot, casting, and the overall acting throughout the film.
Little Miss Sunshine - Good, had no idea it was taped here in Redondo Beach. I'm definitely a Greg Kinnear admirer, I like his choice of roles! He never disappoints, Toni Collette and Alan Arkin did a great job as well.
-
Marley & Me
Oh, I recommend this! It has a rollercoaster of emotions, including good laughs, feeling the stress of the characters and tear-jerking moments. It was interesing all the way through, and it's interesting to see a whole journey.. go see it!
-
I saw Yes Man it was pretty funny. I thought it was not going to be worth it, but it pulled through. I also just recently saw Shakespeare in Love. I saw it in my film class and had to watch it again. I love it sooooo much!
-
The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Ok, Im not going to lie... BOREING! Im sorry but its almost 3 hours of boreing.
-
^my friend said that as well...i dont get the point of having movies drag on like that...i saw Australia with Nicole Kidman a few weeks ago and it was long too, and it didnt need to be that long, me and my friend walked out cause of the length
-
^my friend said that as well...i dont get the point of having movies drag on like that...i saw Australia with Nicole Kidman a few weeks ago and it was long too, and it didnt need to be that long, me and my friend walked out cause of the length
I agree - I almost never go see a movie that's incredibly long.
Last night I saw Valkyrie & thought it was really interesting. Really good. And only 2 hours - yay! haha
-
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Milk
7 Pounds
Gran Torino
Revolutionary Road
Out of all of those I would have to say I enjoyed Gran Torino the most.
-
is Milk worth it?
-
Clerks - Was my copy from netflix the only one in black and white?! I sent it back!
The Wackness - Mediocre, Josh Peck is yummy but other than that I felt like falling asleep.
-
is Milk worth it?
I liked it. All movies that are based on true stories are interesting to me and I get obsessed with finding out more. It's timing was interesting with it and prop 8. Like, I don't think I even learned about this from back then. The "Twinkie Defense" yes.
-

Oh I saw Valkyrie, I though that was pretty good. It was sad though... :?
-
Clerks - Was my copy from netflix the only one in black and white?! I sent it back!
No, Clerks is supposed to be in black and white. I might suggest using a black and white TV to watch it because lack and white always loks better on black and white. I never did like watching black and white shows on a color TV because of the little colored lines around the edges of objects on the screen.
And the last movie I saw was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I really liked the movie, and I didn't see its length as a problem. Movies are expensive, and I don't feel sufficiently entertained after only 75 minutes anyway. We're talking about seeing it again when/if it comes to the smaller theater nearby.
-
Ghost Town, man this movie was FUNNY. "Doctor Pink Ass" Highly recommend it!
-
I recently saw The Orphanage, a spanish film from '07. It's a ghost story except not a typical one. There's some suspenseful jolting scenes in it, the filming is beautiful and lush, and the acting is great. It's about two parents who lose thier son mysteriously, supposedly by kidnapping, but it seems the kidnappers aren't human... There's a lot more to the story as well. The ending is happy and horribly sad at the same time. If you don't mind films with subtitles (and are fast enough to read them), i recommend it. 5/5 $9 at wal*mart!

Last movie I saw *not a brand new one* was running with Scissors and Memento. I took a film class 1st semester and those two were films that students did their final project on. I was interested and watched them. I love them. I think I liked Running with Scissors a tad more. EVerything about it is just great. the acting is perfect. ;D

Gran Torino
If Clint Eastwood is only remembered for 3 films in his career it will be Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby & Gran Torino. Brilliant original screen
play that is perfectly suited to Clint, and there is a great moral message in the film for the youth of today. Worthy of a place in any must
see films of the year list :o Its the kind of film you can recommend to you parents as easily as to your friends. More films like this please!
Peace

Last week I saw The Reader, Bolt, and Changeling...liked them all. Esp. Bolt - it was adorable, lol.
-
The Constant Gardener
I watched this lastnight on DVD, and dispite an error with the disc which rendered scene 13 unviewable (we
spent ½ an hour trying to get it to play that part of the film), this is possibly the most memorable film I have
ever seen made from a JLC novel. A timely reminder of the plight of Africa in the face of AIDS and TB issues

its kinda old but the original buffy the vampire slayer.
i like classic vampires. not that twilight popular shit that people are obsessing over
-
ooh, don't bash my Twilight! haha, nah it's fine. Twilight is really stupid and overrated... but I admit... I'm in love with it!
I saw "The Haunting of Connecticut" or whatever it was.... it scared me, all the "dead" people with the carved stuff in their skin... almost peed myself. haha! the ending sucked. too cinematic in my opinion.

HP6 (aka Harry Potter & The Half-blood Prince) opens today. If I can kick what seems to be a bout of H1N1 I've been
suffering for the last three days, it would make a good distraction... where's a spell to cast out ills when you need it?

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince

Wanted
Violent yes, but what a perverse pleasure it was
-
Bandslam. I really liked it. It wasn't another "High school musical" movie, of course there's music and high school and stuff but it was more of an independant movie. The special appearence at the end was unexpected and definitely great. And Lisa Kudrow's character was adorable.
-
Inglourious Basterds
Loved it!
if QT had shaved 20 minutes off of it, I think it would have been flawless.
And after the initial transition to English (which was pretty great in and of itself), I would have been happy if they just kept it English instead of bouncing back and forth.
The small amount of Italian was possibly some of the best comedy in the movie.
-
Jennifer's Body!
I liked it.
:)
-
Hooray for reviving old topics! I saw Alice in Wonderland in theaters recently. That's it. D:
-
They're still playing it?? isn't it out on dvd?
-
The Lovely Bones :)
Awesome movie from an awesome director!!
-
Killers.
It sucked.
Indeed it did.

Defendor. It also sucked.
About to watch An Education.
-
The Social Network. I really liked it!
-
It was really good! You should definitely go see it!

last theatre movie I saw was Sex and the City 2. I rarely get out to the theatre..we don't like crowds and screaming teeny-boppers. I wanted to see Paranormal Activity 2 but when we saw the first one it was awful sitting next to a group of teens who screamed 'oh my god' over and over and over and over and we couldn't hear what was going on.
Last movie I watched on DVD was "The Fourth Kind" and the last movie on TV was "Elf" on cable and "Up" on Showtime. (all not very recent except for "Elf")
-
The new Narnia. It was pretty good:)
-
Inception for the second time, loved it!
-
Just watched The Girl Who Played With Fire, which was much better than Dragon Tattoo. All I have left to watch is Hornet's Nest.
Watched Saw VII the other day. The twist was obvious. I'm glad they're done making these movies.

I didn't realize they had already made so many movies out of those books, I still haven't read them nor watched the movies. I think I stopped watching Saw at the fourth one! Glad they're done!
Last movie for me was.. can't remember! Could have been Resident Evil: Afterlife. I don't think they are done making those yet...

These are the Swedish versions, though. They are making a Hollywood version of Dragon Tattoo with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara starring. The books are good, but somewhat tedious, as they are way longer than they should be (the author died before publication, eradicating any chance to finetune the manuscripts). Of course, Lisbeth Salander is what makes the series interesting.
I stopped watching Resident Evil movies after the Revelation one. :D

I don't think I would watch them on my own, but it's one movie we can agree on, although zombies really feed into some of my fears..lol!

The Way Back - it was REALLY good!

Last movie I saw was "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
Not me, apparantly. I found the movie to be dull and too long. All they do is drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, and oh, did I mention "drink"?
Before that, I saw "What Ever Happened to Aunt Alice?" which was fantastic and almost as good as "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" I'm get the third one, "Hush...Hush Sweet Charlotte" (also known as "What Ever Happened to Cousin Charlotte") this week from Netflix.
Oh yeah, don't go see "I Am Number Four." Waste of time, even if you're a GLEE fan. Dianna Agron plays the worst cardboard two-dimensional flat lifeless Mary Sue character this side of Forks, Washington.
-
The latest movies that I saw was Despicable Me and How Do You Know :)
-
Inglorious Basterds! I really liked it, apparently Tarantino can do no wrong. Brad Pitt's Italian accent was epic.

Bruna Surfistinha, a real story about a 17 year old brazilian girl who decides leaving home and becoming a prostitute. beautiful movie. you guys should read her story. it's not a movie about sex, it's about finding yourself in life. i learned a lot with this movie. i learned to do not judge beacause we are not what we wanna be, but what we can be. i'm definetly a better person after this movie.

"Remember Me"

Everybody's Fine

The 2007 movie "Once". You can tell that the budget was tight, but the vibe it gives off is really organic. And the songs are simply great.

Cool, sounds promising. I really appreciate flicks that are simple, but outstanding in music, storyline, etc.
I watched another Aronofsky film recently, which is called The Fountain. If you adored the music in Requiem For A Dream, then you're gonna love this. The score is absolutely perfect; it's riveting, and well-layered. The visuals, motifs, and storyline really wow me, too.
