The first time I saw Clipse was one day and BET and I was like "Hey, it's Pharrell!" ... then I thought "Who in the hell are these guys he is hanging out with?" ... that was over a year and a half ago...

The more I learned about Clipse, the more I liked. I bought the first album Lord Willin' and it was very good. The singles from that were "Grindin'," "Ma, I Don't Love Her," "...The Last Time" and "Cot Damn." I cannot think of any others, but there probably were. I really like their style because both Malice and Pusha T can rap and their flow mixes very well with the commercial hip hop style without being too overly pop.

Their newest CD, Hell Hath No Fury, is due out 3/23/2004. They were going to release it on 12/16/2003 but apparently it got pushed WAY back. However, this is pretty much the next rap CD I am really expecting big things from. So hopefully it is good. We will see.

Anyone else heard of them / like them?

Instructions for finding band threads changed 6/7/2004 -B

This thread has been created to serve as an anthology of all of the current "Other Musicians" threads which pertain solely to an artist or group. There are also threads linked at the bottom which pertain to concerts or other musical discussions which are not artist specific.

To see if your favorite artist has had a thread created for him/her/them yet simply search alphabetically using the first letter of the artist or group name. To find the band name quickly, use the link directory below and click on the letter which matches the first letter of the artist or group name. Doing this will open a new window for that letter and you will be able to see all bands with that beginning letter and be able to go to their created thead if appropriate.

EXAMPLES: Avril Lavigne would be listed under "A", Evanescence under "E", and The Offspring under "O," ignoring the surname of "the".

Other Musicians / Framing Amy

Framing Amy is a pop/rock band that I just kind of happened to stumble upon listening to because I was sitting at the same stage for 10 hours waiting to see Michelle Branch, LOL.

I was very impressed with their music and decided to go find out a little bit more about them and share it with you all.

Framing Amy is an independent band that was formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1994 and has 2 independent CD releases, I Have Spoken and Eureka Phenom. They took a year off but are back now and are working on their third CD, which I couldn't find a title for at this point. In the past they have opened for: Lilith Fair, Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, The BoDeans, Third Eye Blind, Sister Hazel, Tonic, Semisonic, 10,000 Maniacs, Train, and Blessid Union of Souls.

I was going to buy their CD's at the show because they were doing a signing after their set, but I had essentially no $$$ on me and the merch tent was WAY at the back, and I wasn't about to fight the teenyboppers to get to the tent and back, so I will probably go buy them on Monday at a local record store.

Their double set went pretty fast and I didn't get to catch a lot of the song names, but one song I did catch that I really liked was "Heaven Knows".

Polls / Who is your favorite Hip Hop / Rap Artist?

I know that Hip Hop in some circles is a very taboo topic, and in other circles is more or less a beating post because of some of the content of the lyrics, etc. However, I know that some people here do like hip hop music. If you do, cool, if you don't, that's fine too.

However, just as a general question for everyone, if you purely look at Hip Hop as an artistical form of music, who would be your favorite artist? I tried to include some of the most common answers, but if the person you like isn't there, feel free to say who it is. :)

Live Shows / Going To VC Shows? NESSAholics.com Needs Your Help!

After a lot of behind-the-scenes work trying to make NESSAholics.com the best web-site and web-reference for Vanessa Carlton related material it can be, we are now ready to step back into the forefront and really take off with the NESSAholics Fan Club, trying to make it the best Vanessa Carlton fan club it can be!

How can you help us promote and expand the NESSAholics Fan Club? Well, if you're already a member, you've taken one positive step in that direction. If you're not a member, be sure to Join as soon as you are done reading this post :wink:.

But now, to the real way you can help... We here at Nessaholics.com now have our very own NESSAholics.com promotional flyers! (View The Flyer, your computer will need to be able to view .pdf files to view the Flyer.  And just as a general note, the flyers look much better printed than they do on the .pdf file, trust us on that one :)).

If you are willing to help, all we ask that you do is when you go to Vanessa shows, events that Vanessa is going to be involved in, etc. if you could print out as many copies of the flyer as possible (each 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper equals 4 "flyers", so all you have to do is cut them out and therefore you save paper/ink, and gain more flyers to distribute :D) and distribute them to people attending the show. If you are too shy to go up to people and hand them a flyer, you can simply place them on tables in/near the venue, under people's car windshield wipers, seats in the venue, etc., places where you know people will see them just as long as you distribute them within legal boundries. The idea here is to get the NESSAholics Fan Club and NESSAholics.com out there in the general public to fans of Vanessa who may not know about them yet.

Now I know that some of you are wondering what is in it for you to help out. The staff at NESSAholics.com is working very hard at coming up with perks and other special rewards for helping out, but for right now you will get a hearty thanks from the NESSAholics.com staff for a job well done, and the opportunity to help promote Vanessa while helping out.

If you are convinced that you want to help and are attending a show soon, or even if you want to post the flyers on college "free-for-all" posting boards or things such as that, just print out the flyer and go for it! However, if you want credit for your work be sure to send me a PM (PM Brian) and let me know what show you are going to, where you plan to post the flyers, etc., and then after you do it let us know how it went!

Now since I know this was a long post, I will review the process in four short steps :

1) If you want to help, step one is printing out the flyer, which you can find here : http://www.nessaholics.com/misc/nhf.pdf

2) Send Brian a Private Message and let him know that you are planning on distributing/posting flyers.

3) Distribute/Post the flyers in any way you see fit, as long as it is legal :wink:.

I tried to list as many as I could think of / find that are confirmed tours. If not tours, at least bands who are touring. This one is hard. I am torn between Ev and the "Are You Happy Now?" tour... but since I know I am going to Ev 100%, I'll pick that one ;)

Is anyone here a baseball fan other than me? ... Another interesting opening day. Some of the premire pitchers (Glavine, Maddux) get smoked, the Brewers as usual figure out how to lose a game they should win, former Brewer Chad Fox gives up taters and loses a game to (gasp) Tampa Bay, Ken Huckaby does the Triple H running kneedrop on Derek Jeter's shoulder, and the Yankees still win. ... lets see, what else did I miss? ... anyway, what did you guys think? Who are your favorite teams, and favorites to go all the way this year?
