Here is "A Thousand Miles"... my own alternate version. Back when I first learned this song [late summer of '05] it was back when I was poor and didn't have much besides shelter, a little food, my health and the clothes on my back. Not wanting to spare the extra expense of printing out the entire song, I learned the rest of it by ear -- or from VC's official video that I had on tape at home -- and made up the parts I wasn't exactly sure of. So here it is -- the finished product -- in sheet form.

If it doesn't tickle your fancy then I'll soon have the official version up soon; I'm almost done with it, anyhow.

Enjoy.

I know it's been a while [almost 3.5 mos.], but ATM should be up shortly... and after that 'Papa'. Just letting everyone know that I haven't disappeared from the face of the earth; just been really busy. Just have a few more adjustments to make b/f I put these sheets up.

Do anyone of you guys play and record songs? it be really nice to hear new V tunes by you guys

No me, cause my keyboard is broken. But maybe I can post the .midi file?

Well, that's the purpose of the MID file... to let you know what the sheet music sounds like [I'm sure glad it exists]. I didn't really need a keyboard [or piano] to make my sheets [the nearest one is across town; wish I had my own, tho', lol]; I just needed my sense of hearing & the familiarity of the melody/harmony of the songs [of course there ain't nothin' wrong w/ adding a few improvisationals in there, also]. But it would certainly be a big help, tho'.

But a coupla weeks ago was the first time [in about a year] that I played & I've forgotten much of the songs I've learned, so it looks like I'm gonna have to re-learn this stuff.

Moreover I haven't been in the mood [and it's just too hot right now] to take that long walk across town to the music building at this university, wherein the rules & stuff -- or whatever -- have gotten a little stricter (so going over there isn't as much fun as in times past) so I don't have access to my favourite pianos [especially the baby grands] like I used to, but I've found a loophole, luckily.

BTW, those unknown sheets made back in way back there... much of them were by Phu.

Here's some non-VC-related sheet music, 'Her Most Beautiful Smile' from the "Rurouni Kenshin" anime, by Iwashiro Taro, along w/ the .midi file. A beautiful piece I picked up from a piano forum/message board, which I haven't visited in years [there wasn't much to it, & many of the people were wealthy, snooty, tight-assed people who were only interested in classical music & were more than glad to flaunt pictures of their fancy pianos in their fancy, big, expensive homes].

Anyway, it's short [only 2 pages] & in the key of E Major.

I'm almost done w/ 'White Houses' & it should be up soon, too [I believe I'm gonna copy/paste it to also make a B Major version of it].

Does anyone know if there's another transcription of "All I Ask" out there?

Well, there is. I actually had to fish back thru that old sheet music thread [w/ 30-some pages] that I remember being started 7 years ago (I've also remember posting in that thread during that time) to find it & save those images to my hard drive. It's a rather sloppy, incomplete arrangement [and more closely resembles the studio version], and I'm also gonna re-do it when I find the time; my computer's just been a bit ill lately [b/c it contains that crappy Windows Vista system & is 5 yrs. old (give or take)]. It's gotten to the point where I not only dread getting on it I have to turn it on multiple time for it to run normally. it's always been slower than I liked & it's (about damn) time for a new one & I, for one, can't hardly wait.

You're very welcome; I'm glad you enjoy the H&Ts arrangement. There's a mistake that I'm gonna have to correct (when I get the chance) & I have a feature on my computer wherein I can delete the voice out (it's mainly for karaoke purposes, but it's useful for transcribing as well) so I can hear the notes better.

I haven't been up here for a while b/c I've had desktop PC problems (I'm gonna need a new one, a laptop specifically) b/f long. I'm also (still) working on Swindler, SF [I came to a standstill on this one] & Annie as well. I think I'm gonna go to Papa & HAWBTW, as well.

Here's another [by Alicia Keys]. I know [and respect] that some of you aren't a fan of hers [and I don't think I am anymore, either based on her personal life; I haven't looked at her the same since], but I just had to share some sheet music I had of hers. (Isn't it ironic that I thought that VC was gonna be the one to fail big time, but it turned out to be AK... the one I least expected the whole time.)

Anyway it's a '70s-inspired neo-soul/jazz/R&B song (12th track) from her 2nd/sophomore LP The Diary Of Alicia Keys (2003) played w/ [not necessarily the Fender Rhodes like VC did w/ her 2nd/sophomore (on 'C'est La Vie' as well] but some sort of electric piano that sounds similar. The sheet music arrangement was kinda messed up so I tried my own hand at correcting the mistakes in there.
