I'm surprised to see my little avatars are still running. haha. Anyone remember me? Don't try too hard. Thought I'd check out the site again.. heard about Vanessa's coming-out..made me remember her influence on my music and my subsequent huge crush on her. Happy National Coming Out Day/Week everyone. Anyways... hello again.

Saw it tonight. Both were awesome and funny in their own ways. Though, I have to say the car chase at the end of Death Proof was amazing. Tracie Thoms=love

I saw her on Letterman a while ago and she played Black Horse and a Cherry Tree all by herself with just a guitar and a drum loop/guitar affects pedal board. It was sooo cool plus her voice has an awesome sound. My brother bought her album and I listened to it and love it. My favorites are Other Side of the World, Another Place to Fall, Black Horse, and Suddenly I See

I really like this! Though my only criticism is that the arpeggiation you have going on in the right hand gets a little tedious at times (change it up a little) but cool melody and good style.

Are you sure you're not Vanessa in disguise? lol. You sound so much like her it's scary!

I'm just now listening to Twilight but as far as suggestions I'd say watch out for being under the pitch sometimes and don't be afraid to get loud! I bet you could really belt if you wanted to; don't shy away from dynamic contrast. That will really help with those pitchy problems you're talking about and it will make the performance more dramatic overall.

Oh wow, I really like this last song. I'm not familiar with it but I'm loving the inflection you're putting on the end of your phrases.

I don't know what you're doing for a career but I can def. see you being successful in the music world. Have you ever thought about getting a set list together and just gigging somewhere? Making a CD of covers?

You have a great ear for music. Great voice. Loved all of it.

So, is that your own band that you gig around with?

I like the songs a lot. Is there an album in the works?

Creative Endeavors / A poem I wrote
« on: January 04, 2007, 09:15:28 pm »
I don't have a title, it's really short, and it's my first poem. Hurray. haha

Between the time of wake and sleep
My mind then finds a further deep
Questions, answers, split in two
To form same dreams; nothing new

I want to ask, I want to find
But nothing bonds a splitting mind
In times when pain becomes my peace
And love can form my sole release
From space that holds my mind in two

Still nothing’s more, nothing’s new

Over and over pictures play
Hope for love, for love to stay
To stay away the pain in mind
The space that hold that world behind

Waves of hope and tides of joy
Flood my heart each night and boy, oh boy
To reach that day when dreams are true
When minds are one and something’s new

Horrible. Dreadful.

This isn't music and it's not the V I want to listen to. Sad

Yeah, I visited the campus and I like how it's in the downtown area. I really hope I get in because I loooved it. We will def. have a Nessa coffee chat if I go there! haha

Yeah, the midi is pretty annoying but it's a lot easier than getting a bunch of musicians together. I hope to get some of them performed soon. Thanks :)

Creative Endeavors / My Compositions

So I've been writing music for almost four years now. The first three years I spent learning how to play piano, which resulted in just writing piano compositions that I admit are kind of cheesy, new age stuff. This year I started writing instrumentational works with multiple instruments in varying styles and settings using Finale 2007 and/or my digital piano. I just made an xanga site to host some of these pieces. If you want to hear them, go here http://www.xanga.com/TBComposer and click on "audio" at the top right of the page and select a song. Since most of you probably own more pop music than anything, I'm not sure how you'll like these. You might like Trick or Treat and "no title yet" but all of them are more classical/contemporary instrumental pieces. I'm majoring in music composition next year hopefully at University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. I have an interview with their composition board Jan. 13. yikes!

Hope you like them

I only know how to play the U2 version

Sorry, the file doesn't have any music on it...it opens in windows media but only with a time of 0:00...

And yeah, I thought that might be two pianos with a lot of reverb. Oh well.

Thanks

This was my favorite of Nessa's covers, but I don't have the mp3 anymore. Does anyone mind e-mailing me the file if they have it?

Another question about this song: Did anyone ever try to transcribe the piano for this? It's pretty awesome but would take me forever to try and figure out.

What's a euphonium?

It's a smaller form of a baritone
