I would like to ask why you want the Iraqi people to not have a democracy? And the reason because they havent asked for it wont work as they would be dead if they had asked for it.

I don't not want Iraqi people have a democracy. Heck, they actually have one now. But due to useless planning and rubbish excuses for entering the country, there is anarchy and many deaths have occured as a consiquence. I believe that ridding the country of the dictation of Sadam Husain (spelling) was a postive thing, but it should have been done with as little civilian interaction as possible. Instead, both countries invade and storm the country, thus a pointless war in the stead of something that could have been much less time consuming.

To be honest I think most peoples views here will be set and people pretty much understand and can reason through any arguement for either side, but I dont get that if this is representitive of peoples views throughout England/America how are the forces still there? Why haven't your respective governments pulled out?

In England our government shouldn't have gone in the first place. Polls had shown that 75% of those who voted did not wish to go. But then again, who are the general public to our government? As long as George Bush was going to go, so were we. The general public had no choice on the matter, not in reality. Also, the parties that are currently holding the seats in Parliment are too stubborn to admit they're wrong. That is why our forces are still there. Plus, now we are in too deep to just pull out.

ooh you dont like the idea of marriage? interesting.

why not, if I may ask?

Well, it's not so much I don't like it, it's just not for me. I mean i'm not religious, so the deeper meaning of marriage disappears for me. From then on, it's a contract stating what's mine is yours and I am bound to you forever, unless I don't like you any more, at which point we have pay for a costly divorce. When, intially, if you live with someone for 3 or 4 years (which one I forget), you're offically 'partners' in the eyes of the government and you fall under the same bracket :/ Also, I could live with someone forever, but being asked 'do you want to live with this person forever?' is a little concerning...

I don't know if that's a sufficent answer really, but at the moment that's all I have without writing an essay :/

The war will bring peace, will bring a stable demorcratic governmentand economy in the long term.

How long is a long term in your books? Because the government has been there a while and still no peace... It seems like a lost cause :/ That's my opinion anyway.

I think relieving the country of Sadam Housain (spelling) was the only positive to come out of it. Even then, the Americans and British (why in the world we went when 75% of the country didn't want to go, I have no idea) had no idea what to do next. Moreover, the initial reasoning for going? WTF? Weapons of mass destruction? Isn't it amazing they didn't exist? Like nobody knew that  .

I think it's a matter of opinion :/ But, I don't follow an official religion as such, i'm agnostic, so I don't think it's wrong... But then again, I don't like the idea of marriage... Ahh well. Yeah, it's a matter of opinion.

Polls / I support Gay rights. Do you?
« on: December 31, 2007, 02:54:49 pm »
I, personally, fully support gay rights. I don't think being gay is something that one can determine as being completely right or wrong. I think your sexually is something that is embedded in you, that you can't change, but I think people have problems grasping that concept.

Isn't it funny that gays get harder time from the general public and governments than bisexuals? And that irritates me to death.

Who cares? Who actually cares what sexually someone is? I mean, you're still the same person no matter who you fall in love with. It doesn't change the personality of the person or the way in which they should be treated in society. So, why the **** the discrimination? I know that a few religions, in some interpretations, 'forbid' it. And if someone wishes to still follow that religion they need to stick to it, but people should not make others out-casts, just because they don't believe what someone else believes...

Oh, sorry, I went on a bit of a rant then :/
