Live Shows / 11/30/2007: City Place Plaza - West Palm Beach, FL (Review)
« on: December 01, 2007, 12:54:13 am »
Wow! The concert was amazing! There must have been at least 5,000 people, if not more, in this tiny place! Of course it was a free show but it was excellent publicity for V (I do ask, where in the world was the merchandise and CD's? What was she thinking??).

She wasn't as animated and humorous as usual (most likely because of the crowd since she couldn't be as non-PC with the jokingly anti-VH1 and record label rants or swear words) but the audio was excellent!! Her voice was amazing and the piano was incredible. Best audio of any of the 6 concerts I have been to but the least animation by V....

I got the set list from the sound guy that is not named Mark (anyone know his name, long curly hair?) which I will post tomorrow after some sleep.

I also took a TON of photos with my Canon 20D and 300mm lens. And they are amazing! It will take several days to process them, but here is a teaser....

You gotta love the bracelet....

NESAHOLICS were there loud and proud tonight and a bunch of others got some video. And we all got to meet her afterwards!!!

Details once sleep is had....well worth the 4.5 hour drive each way!!

Polls / What is your favorite V Album?
« on: October 06, 2007, 01:01:44 am »
Although this similar to the two other polls that are going on, I just had to ask.....

This is referring to the SONGS (lyrics, vocals, instruments, flow from song to song, etc) not the rest of the album

And of course if you haven't heard the whole H&T album yet, please wait to vote....

Vanessa Songs / Lyrics / Sheet Music / Heroes and Thieves Tracks
« on: June 03, 2007, 05:08:18 pm »
I was just wondering which tracks you all thought would be going on V's next album? I think it is pretty confirmed that Heroes and Thieves, Hands on Me, and Nolita Fairytale will all be on the album. But what others do you think will be on it? Do you think ALL of her new stuff will be on it? Do you think they will cut any of them? How about any old songs?

My possible guesses (no particular order):
Heroes and Thieves
The One (I really hope so, this is my fav!)
Nolita Fairytale
Hands on Me
My Best
This Time
Best Behavior
All is Well
House
Spring Street
Wave Goodbye
???

Other thoughts: Do any of you think she will finally put some old favs on like Morning Sting and Swindler? She has always said in concerts that she likes these songs, they just never made it to an album because they did not fit with the rest of the songs. I really hope that Swindler will be on it - even though it is "old" it is one of my favs and V still sang it during the Harmonium tour so we know she still likes it.

I highly doubt fan favs like Superhero, All I Ask, Birdie, etc will be on it since she hasn't played those in concert for a very long time.

Any other songs that someone knows about that I haven't heard about yet? That is only 11 songs which IMHO is not long enough - I'm hoping for 13-15 songs. Please, V??? I heard something about Quail Dude Squaw but I don't know anything about it at all.

Sorry if this was posted somewhere else but I couldn't find it......

Introduce Yourself / I'm Back!
« on: June 02, 2007, 07:50:38 pm »
Hey Nessaholics,

Just a little message to say hi and I'm back from a long hiatus from the boards. I just got super busy....I'm no longer in Albany, NY but in Gainesville, FL. I'm a grad student at the University of Florida in Tropical Conservation and have just been extremely busy with moving, school, and well, life.

I was only an active member for a few months so most of you probably won't remember me but some of you probably will like those that I met at some of the Nessa concerts in upstate NY. Hope you are all doing well!

LOVE the new nessa songs and can't wait til Oct!!!

peace,
Carly

Polls / How many countries have you been to?
« on: May 31, 2005, 03:53:26 pm »
Traveling is one of my favorite things in the world...yes, it pretty much ties with seeing V in concert (yes, shame on me!! oh the horrors!)

I know some of you haven't been able to travel as much as you would like cause of money or your parents...I was just wondering how many and which countries other than your native country have you been to?

I live in the US and I have been to: Belize, Mexico,  Guatemala, Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and France. This summer I'm going to: Ecuador again, Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia.

Introduce Yourself / Hi, I'm a newbie!
« on: May 29, 2005, 01:05:38 pm »
Hi I’m a newbie! I have been registered for a while but never posted anything, just lurked. Now I am finally posting. My name’s Carly and I’m 25. I currently live in Albany, NY but will be moving to Miami to go to grad school for Environmental Science. As you can see from my name I love the rainforest and will be doing some of my studies in the rainforests of Mexico and Belize. I have also lived in Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, and Arizona.

I have been a Nessa fan since I heard the first riff of A thousand miles and my heart skipped a beat! Even though I loved A thousand miles, I didn’t be come a huge fan til Ordinary Day came out. It reminds me of someone special in my life and is my favorite song. Then, I really got hooked when Harmonium came out and I was able to go to Vanessa’s concerts! I have since become very obsessed: I’ve been to 5 concerts and met her 3 times! Her piano ability is so amazing! Ever time I have met her she has been so sweet and genuinely interested in fans.
I am starting to slowly learn to play, totally inspired and impressed by her.

My website is: http://www.geocities.com/nessacarltonfan if anyone wants to check it out. It has a ton of photos I have taken at concerts from my nifty professional camera. As a “second career” I am a photographer.

I have met Gina, Jessica (jlmusicchick), Nikki (dancernl), Jackie, Mells, and Steve here and look forward to getting to know more of you! :D
