What's the story/rumor mill on how good this 3rd album of Vanessa Carlton's will be?

I am sure we all here on this message board will like it but as far as album sales go...will it be like her 2nd album did? Will it be promoted better than her 2nd album? Will there be more than one music video/single for this 3rd album?

Show was good. I enjoyed it. While leaving after the show she signed 1 autograph and took 1-2 pictures just as I was walking back to my car. I missed getting the brief opportunity to speak with her, but it's all good.

Vanessa Carlton needs a more sophisticated website to attact people, better advertising and better public relations announcing her albums and songs.

I think it has been poorly done. Not Vanessa. She's fine. It's the way everything has been promoted for her. It has not been done well.

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Vanessa Carlton & "umm"
« on: September 16, 2005, 09:47:20 pm »
Vanessa Carlton has great stage presence and knows how to work a crowd. She's fantastic on stage. I think she has one flaw though and it isn't even a big one.

Just to briefly touch on it she says the word "umm" numerous times while explaining her songs.

Doesn't this look like a fake signature? The user has several negative feedbacks. I was just wondering.

Live Shows / 7/17/2005: Nokia Theatre - Grand Prairie, TX (review)

Went to the concert last night on July 17th. I was unable to stay for Stevie Nicks. I was there for Vanessa Carlton's entire 30 minute opening for Stevie. The Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie, Texas is a very clean and nice venue. It's an above average venue and very nice. Vanessa Carlton received her STANDING OVATION after playing songs like The One, Best Behavior, Put Your Hands On Me, A Thousand Miles, Ordinary Day and others mostly from her Harmonium release. I was relatively close to the stage in the 11th row a little to the left. I had a great view. Two big screens on each side of the stage showcased Vanessa's piano playing very well for those who didn't have the best view. She was really off the chain and surprised me by playing & singing better than I thought she would. Not that I think she's bad in anyway. I just thought she did even better. She also has a very charming personality on stage.

When you are familiar with Vanessa Carlton's music and than hear her play live you might ponder on why she isn't better known in the music world. Hopefully her third album will go platinum and get her back to the top of the charts.

I have an idea. I can make a Vanessa Carlton fan video. This would be very neat.

I am very good with these types of projects. I have been doing with for my favorite NFL team the Dallas Cowboys for years. I am a wizard with editing, adding music, and more.

If you Nessaholic fans can get out your video camera and record (introduce yourself, your first name, where you are from, why you are a fan, how you first became a fan, what you like about Vanessa Carlton, etc, record your Vanessa Carlton collection, CDs, posters, etc, etc) I can put what you send me onto a video and/or DVD.

I'll need what you record with your home video camera put onto a video or DVD. Make it as long or as short as you want. When I finally get everyone's recordings, edit everything, add music, and more and finally put it all together...  I'll call it "Vanessa Carlton: Meet The Fans". I'll charge only for shipping to send this video out to everyone. I can provide my address for everyone to send their recordings to.

Tell me what you all think! Peace,

Chris (Dallas, Texas)

Is Vanessa Carlton the one playing the piano in Zucchero's single 'Everbody's Got to Learn Sometime' featuring Vanessa Carlton and Haylie Hecker?

Live Shows / 4/13/2005: University of Texas - Richardson, TX (review)

Hey,

At the Richardson, Texas show on 4/13/05 I briefly took a picture with Vanessa Carlton. She was in a hurry to leave. She did a good job. She played for roughly an hour and then the Ying Yang Twins took over. She left the venue about 20 minutes after her performance.

I will post the picture if I knew how to do that. So how do I post the picture on this message board?

THE CONCERT ON 4/13/05:

The opening act was a Latino band. The second act was Vanessa Carlton and the last act was the Ying Yang Twins. The doors opened at 7:30PM and the show started at 8:00PM. At least for this show at the University of Texas at Dallas it wasn't necessary to go that early. I got there way to early. I was in the front row to the right of the stage but moved to the middle (there were no seats) when Vanessa Carlton came out because the backside of the piano was in my way.

Anyway she played Papa first and ended with A Thousand Miles. Only about 400-600 people attended the show. I don't know if that's a lot of people for her show. The venue was so so. I didn't think the gym that she played in supported the speakers very well. I have Vanessa Carlton Nashville VCD made by a member on this message board and it sounded much better then what I saw live.

Later!

Chris
