Creative Endeavors / A Birthday Poem for VC

The Piano Girl's Birthday
It won't do well to place in a box
This woman of agreement and paradox,
This mix of pandemonium and harmony
Combining so creatively.
This woman, as many have said before,
Has the looks of a girl-next-door,
And yet we see behind those eyes
A quality of being worldly wise.
Her fingers tickle the ivory
And she sings of love and her community,
And this woman, with her skills so fine
Has now reached the age of twenty-nine.
For sure, her songs will be played for long,
Even after I'm gone for long,
For her music, shall it fade? I surely say NEVER!
Bands may come and go, but Vanessa is forever!
And may the Lord, who willed her be,
To the gratitude of us fans, wherever we may be,
Grant that I may not die too soon
And not hear her albums being played on the Moon.
And may the last line of this poem be:
Happy birthday, dear Vanessa C.
Happy birthday, VC!

The Piano Girl

Somewhere beyond that starry sky
There lives a girl with a magic eye
With which she can see, in the ordinary,
A touch of the of the magical and fantasy.
She has a talent for writing songs
Which draw larger, ever larger throngs
For a singular reason: They can hold, in a phrase,
The emotion and aura of average days.
Her fingers tickle the ivory
And she sings of white houses, and 'your hands on me,'
And the images seen by those magical eyes,
Through the piano and voice, they mesmerize.
So hail to the chief, fans, hail to the chief,
Hail to the raven-haired palace thief,
And may the last line of this ode be:
"Blessed be Vanessa C."

The palace thief part doesn't make much sense. I'll explain: people are palaces, she steals attention from your "palace."

Introduce Yourself / Hi everyone, newbie here!

Hi everyone, new member here!
So, um, I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Earl, 14, and I'm from the Philippines.
I've yet to meet another VC fan here.
So, my interests, aside from Vanessa Carlton songs, are writing, reading, and music. What kind of music? Any kind, but I especially like vintage rock and roll, reggae, and, of course, piano pop and soft rock.
So I guess that's about it. Hello again!
