Vanessa Songs / Lyrics / Sheet Music / All I Ask
« on: August 27, 2009, 11:52:58 pm »
To this day, this is my favorite Vanessa Carlton song.
It's a shame it remains unreleased because at least in my own opinion its better than the majority of her officially released catalog. "Superhero" was the song that began my quest for the unreleased songs but this was the holy grail.

-Kev

Fumbling down a road lined with signs
It's obvious I'm in the wrong direction
And I won't stop now you know I feel fine
Just looking for some affection
And all I ask is to be able to hold on longer
And all I ask is to be able to walk on water
Walk on water

I figure it won't be long it won't be hard
I just gotta get my feet back on the ground
Just got a hold of some unlucky cards
And I have yet to make another round
And all I ask is to be able to hold on longer
And all I ask is to be able to walk on water
Walk on water

No one lent a hand, no one laid a look upon me
Invisible to everything but blame
No one cared to tell, no one dared to believe in anything
And left me to drown in this pain
And all I ask is to be able to hold on longer
And all I ask is to be able to walk on water
Walk on water

Local boy :)
At least 1 song on the new CD should be good. Don't know the name of it yet.
-----

Season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis will release his debut album Audio Day Dream through 19 Recordings/Arista Records on November 27, 2007. The beat boxing American Idol alumnus from Bothell, Washington is currently in the studio working on A.D.D.

In line with his unique performances from this past season, Blake will be working with a diversity of producers on the album, including Sam Hollander & Sluggo (Gym Class Heroes, Boys Against Girls), JR Rotem (50 Cent, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Sean Kingston), Ryan Tedder (V. CENTRAL TO THE PROJECT), David Hodges (Evanescence), BT, Sean Hurley (Robin Thicke), and Mike Elizondo (Maroon 5, Eminem).

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Blender - Oct 2007
« on: September 13, 2007, 12:03:49 pm »
I got Blender in the mail today. (Kanye West cover) There's quite an interesting Q&A with Vanessa in there, Page 86.

A couple interesting excepts:
"It's the right time for me to do a complete frontal nude shot, basically."
"I've been through tours where I was smoking pot every day. I'm more of a stoner than anything else, but I've tried everything, except heroin."
Q: What's the one drug you'll never do again? "I'll do them all again!"

Nice Nessa :) Gotta love the honesty. She stayed mum on the subject of Jenkins.

I'd scan it but scanner is broke and digicam doesnt usually come through that well.

Polls / What is your internet speed?
« on: July 01, 2007, 04:33:43 pm »
I work for an ISP so I see the variations on available speeds to our different contracts and it makes me curious.

For me personally, years back I had dialup, then went to 0.6M DSL and about 2 years ago it went to 1.5M and as of next Friday I'm getting upped to 7M. WOOOOO Let the media whoring begin.... errr continue.

If you don't know what speed you're getting, take the speedtest:
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
ex: 1500kbps = 1.5M or 3000 = 3M

Round up to your closest result.

This is a fairly new band, they are signed to Arista/JRecords and are under the watchful eye of Clive Davis which is a huge boost for any artist!

The lead singer used to be the frontman for Dropline back in the late 90s. They had a hit with "Fly Away From Here (Graduation Day)"

The guitarist (Josh), bassist (Steven), & drummer (Dan) are all from Trading Yesterday. Which is of course how I got into the band.

They have already recorded a number of songs that can be heard on the MySpace, and in the next couple months (May/June) they will be playing a West Coast tour. I shall be front and center.

Crank is the best movie I've seen in like a year. I kid you not.  Jason Statham is ten times better than the cheese of Vin Desiel's work in the past 3 years.

It's a guy movie, plain and simple. GO SEE IT!

Other Musicians / Mute Math
« on: February 09, 2006, 12:12:06 am »
Mute Math is one of the most progressive and original sounding bands I've ever come across.
They dont have a very big mainstream following (tho they are working on it), they have a HUGE diehard underground following. It's all based off their extremely energetic live shows.
I got to see them for the first time last Friday and it lived up to everything my friends had told me about them.
"Chaos" is the current single and they performed it recently on the Late Late Show. VIEW VIDEO

Check out their MySpace page to experience their sound for yourself.
