Live Shows / Re: 08.05.09- The Americana at Glendale, CA (review)

I just got back from the show. Luckily they let me into the VIP area so I got some decent video of the whole show. I'll edit and upload what I have to YouTube tomorrow. I wish I would have seen the other NESSAholics but was too late to look around

Polls / Will you buy Ja Rule's CD to support the INC?
« on: November 27, 2007, 03:49:51 pm »
I was thinking about this when I was watching Gotti's Way yesterday. Would you buy Ja Rule's CD to support the INC since it's now Vanessa's label?

Ja's single seems to be really good and I might get that but I probably wouldn't buy the CD because I'm not that big of a Ja Rule fan.

I love Hell's Kitchen as everybody knows and I can't wait for this show. I've been watching the British version on BBC America and it's a great show. Unfortunately it probably won't translate as well since they allow the word shit on BBC America but there will probably be a ton of bleeping here.

I went to see it last weekend and it was better than I was expecting and surprisingly funny. I enjoyed it.

I love this show! I thought Lacey (Benji's sister) was the best this week. Lauren reminds me of Allison. I loved that girl.

She's one of my MySpace friends that requested to be added and I recently bought her CD (lil-yah) which is the correct pronunciation of her name. I really like the CD especially That Boy, He Makes Me Smile, All I Do, and Business Of Love.

She's kind of like a female Dave Matthews/John Mayer type. I don't really like those guys but I really like her and that is the closest comparison I can come up with.
Here's her website: http://www.leliabroussard.com/ and her MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/leliasmusic

Well I listen to a talk radio show just about daily on 97.1 FM in L.A. called the Frosty, Heidi, and Frank show and they have a weekly portion of the show on Friday called Should I Stay Or Should I Go where they have new bands and singers play and let the audience call in to give opinions on the music and today Kirsten was on and was very good. She sounds kind of like Sheryl Crow and after visiting her site I had to buy her CD. She has been on the CDs for shows like Dawson's Creek and Smallville. Here's her website: http://www.tellthatgirl.com/index.html and her MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/kirstenproffit

I figured since I loved her on AI I should be the first to post about her. Apparently she has signed a record deal with a Simon Fuller label and will have a single out in September and an album in November. They picked Pickler!

LOS ANGELES - Bubbly blonde "American Idol" finalist Kellie Pickler has landed a record deal with country label BNA Records and 19 Recordings, the label founded by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller.

First up for the 20-year-old North Carolina native, whom "Idol" judge Simon Cowell once deemed a "naughty little minx," will be a single scheduled for release in September. Her debut album will arrive Nov. 14.

"I've always dreamed of getting a record deal, so now my dream has come true!" Pickler said in a statement released Monday by Sony BMG, parent company of the Nashville-based BNA.

Pickler is currently on the "American Idols Live" cross-country tour and "will record the album in between tour dates," according to the statement.

Her twangy rendition of        Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight" can be heard on the "American Idol: Season Five" compilation CD.

Other "Idol" alums signed to 19 Recordings include fellow season-five finalist Chris Daughtry and past winners        Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia and        Ruben Studdard.

It's a strange movie but the interesting thing about it is that I went to Jr. High with one of the co-writers, co-producers, and co-directors of it.
It's basically a quasi-documentary that tries to tie in quantum physics with our lives, spirituality, and reason for being.

I loved the first season and it's coming back June 29 on FX. It's just a shame Starved isn't returning too.

Okay, I only started watching the show because Rebecca Romijn and Brooke Burns were in it but I actually liked the show for its humor and entertainment value. It will never win any Emmys but it's fun. I'm probably the only person here that watches this. LOL

This is a strange story but I was at the Staples Center for a Laker game and there was a 17 year old girl singing the National Anthem with a gorgeous voice that kind of reminded me of Sarah McLachlan so when I came home I checked MySpace to see if she had a page and she did. I immediately added her to my friends list and now she has some videos of her songs up on her MySpace music page. She's coming out with her first album this Summer. My favorite song of hers is Raincoat because it's a little like a Norah Jones song and you all know I love me some Norah. If you want to check her out you can visit her following links:

I'm not Jewish or anything but I'm really digging his King Without a Crown I like the reggae flavor and it's really catchy. It's got a dancehall feel to it and I can't get enough of it.
