"but with the help of medicine and good doctors... actually... yeah, that's not funny" xDDD hilarious

She was amazing *-* I wish she would've sung In The Rough, though

Thanks for the link :D

I'm so glad she's finally coming back to the stages, the live videos on YouTube are not enough to handle the waiting >.<

Is the "Walk Away" song as good as she said? I've been dying to hear it because she said it came out as her favorite on her new album, which I can't wait to buy :D

he's not a Christian singer xD he does have a song called "Praying to the Wrong God" but it has nothing to do with Christianity or religion

He's one of my favorites... you can truly feel he's a classically trained pianist and singer

oh, and nevermind "Beautiful Disaster," it doesn't show his vocal, playing or writing skills whatsoever... search for live performances of "People" and "Industry" instead *-* he never ceases to amaze me

I voted piano because it is my favorite official musical instrument and I can play it... however, singing is what I love the most :D

I also like strings like violin, cello, and double bass, and would love to play piano with a mini orchestra joining me *-* that's my ultimate dream

If it's a piano/vocal audition, you might consider Home with the outro *-*
if it's piano only, you can play Rinse or Papa if you know it :D

^Actually, I'm glad I didn't buy "both" editions xD I was a die hard fan of Michelle back in the day, and had the intention of buying the cd with different covers. Thank god I only had money to buy one, and when I came home realized it was the same thing, just flipped. I would've been PISSED if I had bought both 8O

I bought the Target edition of Kate's album, so I don't mind it's the same as the first issue, because it has the 3 acoustic songs. I can't complain :D

It was not much of a re-release. It's the same artwork as the first edition. They just added a little sheet that works as a new cover, but you can take it off if you want. And yeah, I suppose it's to attract the OTH crowd.

It took me a while xD the last songs doesn't mean that I don't like them, I just like the first ones better. The only one that I actually skip when I listen the album, is The One.

Polls / 2nd Harmonium single
« on: May 02, 2008, 01:22:43 am »
Call me crazy, but I think Papa would have been a good single. People started liking Vanessa because ATM was so catchy and everyone wanted to learn it on piano. Private Radio is a catchy song indeed, but other than the little solo she does in the bridge, the piano playing is not very noticeable. However, Papa is all about the piano, and people would have gone crazy when listening, and everyone would have tried to learn the song at home. Not only that, but the dark theme of the song would have got V a more expanded fanbase and would discover other dark-ish songs like HAWBTW and C'est la Vie.

That's what I feel about the second single thinking of the record label and V's place in the mainstream, being objective. But thinking about which song I like the most, I would've chosen Who's To Say or Afterglow.

Polls / What is your favorite V Album?

My favorite album is Harmonium, I also think nothing will every top that... I mean, the instrumentation, the lyrics, the singing *-* come on, everything looks like the perfect evolution from BnN, which is my second favorite.

Not that I don't like H&T, because I do, but I find it a little bit repressed... in most of the songs, V isn't giving her best when it comes to singing, like they recorded them once or twice and that's it. There are some songs that are over-produced, YET lacking of production in some areas. I might not make myself clear, but you know what I mean. Lyrically, I couldn't ask for more, this is how songs are meant to be written.

She's one of my favorites too *-* she's a great singer and performer, but above all, she's a hell of a songwriter... and the fact that she wrote most of the songs on her album when she was 14-16 makes her even better. I wish I'd been that articulate at 14

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Hands on me as a CD
« on: May 01, 2008, 06:38:57 pm »
Ugh, tell me about it. Here in Mexico, they don't even distribute her cds since BnN. It took me about 2 weeks to get H&T imported and had to pay almost the double of the cd's cost. It's horrible :cuss:

Polls / I support Gay rights. Do you?
« on: May 01, 2008, 06:28:20 pm »
I don't support "Gay Rights," I don't think there should be such thing. By that, I'm not saying I hate homosexuality, what I do hate is that society still separates people just for what they like, how they look, or how they feel.

To me, saying "I'm/you're/he's/she's gay" is labeling people, and not giving them credit for anything else they have to offer, like being gay is everything they are.

Is it really necessary to create laws for every cultural group? What kind of society are we? Limitating ourselves to say You're gay, black, white, asian, hispanic, punk, goth, hippie, among other things. WE'RE ONLY HUMAN. PERIOD. DEAL WITH IT.

There should be a certain amount of respect between everyone. Hating on someone just because they like something different than what you like is simply a demonstration of insecurity and most of all, ignorance.

So... do I support gay rights? Nope.
Do I support human rights and believe in equality? Absolutely.
