Luckily there was a tour but that's pretty much about it.

Sorry to be a moaner, but where was our tour?? Does the emergence of this 3rd album mean she's not coming to the UK after all? I wonder if there is the money to fund her coming over here, if A&M won't fund production and promotion of a 2nd single why should they fund any sort of tour outside the US?
Of course I'm delighted to hear there will be a third album, and that she's not gonna give up just because those idiots at A&M aren't going to give her the promotion and support she deserves. I'd been thinking up until now that because Ron Fair personally produced BNN, that A&M would give Nessa pretty much anything she wanted, that she was special to them. Seems I was very wrong :(.
Wonder who these 'new people' are, new label? new production team? new band?

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / When will V come to Spain?

Disturbing news is that on Amazon.co.uk, Harmonium now has a release date of.....wait for it.....4th July!
I don't know what's going on, or whu this has happened, but it surely doesn't bode well for any tour or anything any time soon  :(.

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / The perfect Nessa cd

1. Who's To Say
2. Sway
3. All I Ask
4. Little Mary
5. Swindler
6. Papa
7. Rinse
8. Wonder
9. Afterglow
10. Ordinary Day
11. C'est La Vie (Live Piano Version)
12. The Wreckage

If/when I make this CD I'll add more tracks to fill up the space, seems a waste not to. But those are the first 12 tracks anyway.

I checked www.hmv.co.uk & they say it's release date is 15-2-2005  :?

The only reason I can think of for that sort of delay is to coincide with tour dates. That is assuming that there is a reason for it of course.....

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Harmonium In The UK??

I went looking for Harmonium today, since (as I understood it), it was released here yesterday. I checked HMV, Woolworths and WH Smith and didn't find it in any of them. Has anyone else seen it here in the UK? Am I just being blind or not looking hard enough?

Completely Off-Topic / Kerry concedes, Bush still President.
« on: November 03, 2004, 11:33:04 am »
I did my utmost to be entirely objective throughout the campaign, not to support either side. Looking at it objectively I'm very surprised that Bush has won as easily as he has. I can't explain it, I'm sure any number of political analysts will try to.

Bush started ahead, but ever since the first debate all the polls have said support for Kerry had been growing and growing until it was too close to call, the turnout was high, which was meant to favour Kerry. Where did it go wrong???

I'm not going to go on an anti-Bush rant purely because I don't know enough to do it well. But, I have to say despite being objective, I would have liked Kerry to win, even if it was just to see how he'd do as president.
I heard all the mistakes and bad decisions Bush has made and I'd say if even half of them were true, then yes, he shouldn't be president.

But, surely one of the things that makes it difficult for a challenger is that the voters don't know what they're going to get if they vote him/her in. At least by voting for the person already in power, you know what you're gonna get. Who knows, the other guy might (god forbid) be worse than what you've got already.

Not saying that would have been the case here, pretty sure it wouldn't have been, but you don't know till you've voted him in do you? and by then it's too late....

U2's version is 4mins and 36seconds on their Best Of (1980-1990). The version on the album it originally came from (The Joshua Tree??), may well be longer though. It does rock though, I'll be interested to see what Nessa does with it.

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Did someone really "leak" Harmonium?
« on: September 29, 2004, 01:57:40 pm »
I refuse to download it, just because to me it feels wrong. It's not just because it's Nessa (though I'm sure that is a part of it). I don't like downloading anything before it's released, it feels like it's not for me yet, i'm not meant to have it.
For me, it'll be all the more rewarding when I get it properly in November.

I'd never heard Afterglow before I heard that just then. Oh, what I have been missing??? It's beautiful! I love it!

Mmm I like her. Good voice, and the video for 'These Words' is very original.

ooo, sex, how naughty i mean, no one does THAT anymore

true, but when you write a magazine for 17 year olds, I assume that's why it's called 17, then in a lot of places in the eyes of the law it is a naughty thing, or illegal at least.
