Matt goes back and forth between Tori Amos (tours/album recording) and Fiona (tour/album recording).

Since Tori is on tour, Matt is on the road with her.  That is part of what's backing up the release of Fiona's new album.  I heard that all of his work on Fiona's album is done, and they're just working out kinks and putting the finishing touches.

Columbia House Release Date

Columbiahouse.com has changed its release date for Fiona's new album from the premature July 22nd, 2003 to September 30th, 2003. This date is still subject to change, and not necessarily reliable. However, it's very possible - according to Billboard, as seen below - that the album could be released on or around this date. As far as I know, the album is not yet complete, but we should hopefully start hearing more concrete news in the near future.

Do you have an extra ticket.  There is NO ONE that I am more anxious about seeing in concert than Nessa.  Waiting til next years tour is too long a wait.

Normally, i wouldn't directly attack a top 10 choice since, first and foremost, it's about personal taste.

But in this case, I want to point out that the song "Smoke"  off of this album is tied for the WORST lyrics of all time.




Then Natlie contributes the always deep and thought provoking line "What's up with that?" to the music world.  As in;

"My Lullaby, hung out to dry
What's up with that
It's over
Where are you dad
Mum's lookin' sad
What's up with that
It's dark in here"

but she says it OVER AND OVER throughout the song ruining a GREAT chorus with HORRIBLE verses.  That ALONE should knock "Left of the Middle" off the list!

To be honest, that song is not exactly among my favorite Natalie songs either.  I wouldn't exactly call it a black mark either.  It has some really great music and the lyrics are okay (though, I agree, not among the best).  Either way though, IMO, it certainly isn't enough to knock off an album with such great songs as "Torn", "Wishing I Was There", "Leave Me Alone", "Pigeons and Crumbs", and especially the title track.  I will say though, while I still think Natalie is great, I am somewhat disappointed when it comes to "White Lillies Island".  It's decent, but comes nowhere close to "Left of the Middle".

Now, I do agree with you about "Little Earthquakes".  Though "Scarlet's Walk" is my favorite of hers, LE is next.  Though I really do NOT like "Me and a Gun" (due to what the song is about), I really love the other songs on there.  Like "Crucify", "Winter", "Mother", and especially "Tear In Your Hand".

"Pieces of You" is still the best.  I do love her latest album, though.  She's changed it up a little with all the albums.  She went even further with the new one.  Still love it.

I'll bet that she will release "Love Me Like That" sometime (because of Sheryl).  Whether I think it'll be next or not, not sure.

I'd like for her to release "Where Are You Now?" or "Empty Handed".  I really like them.

Last movie I saw in the theater was "Chicago" (GREAT movie!!!)

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / What makes Vanessa uncool?

I really only download music if it's either a rare song that is hard to find anywhere else, or if it's a song that I really love that's on an album that won't be released for a while.  Of course, in the latter case, I will buy the album when it comes out.  I believe that it's totally wrong to download all of someone's music (screwing them out of album sales).  

My philosophy is if you have the time to download all the music off the internet, then you certainly have the time to run out to the store and buy the album.


Oh!! and what makes Nessa uncool??  NOTHING!!!  Totally

Oh I most definitely believe it.  I SOOOOO cannot wait.  I may just have to make the trek up to New York for Central Park Summerstage in August.  Waitin' 'til after the new album is just too long.

When I first heard "All I Wanna Do", I thought it was the most annoying thing I had ever heard.  I have since come around.  Her self-titled album especially rocks my world.

Nothing has made me COME AROUND more than April 27 in Portsmouth, VA.  That was when Sheryl ROCKED ALL OUR ASSES OFF!!  It is the BEST concert I have ever been to (now wait, I haven't seen Nessa yet  :wink:   ) .  

"My Favorite Mistake" is one of my all-time favorite songs!!!
