Live Shows / Re: 11/10/15: Chicago, IL - The City Winery
« on: November 04, 2015, 12:51:01 pm »
I was there at her last appearance (with BirdCloud, what a group!) and really enjoyed it.

I just went to the Green Bay, WI show Monday night so wont be making my way downtown (a Vanessa Carlton pun, of course) Chicago.  I did just randomly check and it appears the show is sold out!  Nice!

There were barely 100-150 people I'd guess in Green Bay.

I also see she is playing at SPACE in Evanston, IL.  Ive never been, but seating layout looks like something similar to City Winery (cabaret tables, etc) and has standing room only tickets available.

Don't worry, I posted about the Green Bay, WI show months ahead and didn't get any responses!  Guess our states aren't loaded with VC backers?

Same here about the album (except for me it isnt college anymore, its kids!), I bought it on Google Play Music in the car on the 1.5 hour drive up from Milwaukee and listed to it on the way.

Great live show, you're in for a treat.  Have fun!

So who's coming with me?!?!?  Driving up from Milwaukee, spending the night.

Did the Chicago show at City Winery last time she was in town (Birdcloud opened) and enjoyed it.

Was able to get Row A aisle seats so pretty pumped!

Just bought two via the City Winery website.  VC's post on facebook about Direct Fan tix being sold out scared me enough to purchase tonight.

Missed the last Chicago show for some event of my wive's, but she sure as hell is coming to this!

Quite pumped.

I wonder if she decided to play "Marching Line" because she makes reference to an "overture" and the show was at the Overture Center?  Maybe I'm reaching here...  Regardless, the performance was quite enjoyable.

Matt Nathanson was better than I thought it was going to be.  So many older (40-45+) woman fawning over him, not what I was expecting lets put it that way!

Some tickets opened for my wife and I at around 6:15 and were able to get in!  The Gods were smiling.

Great show!  I enjoyed Marching Line.  I hope someone got a vid of it.  Was hoping to hear White Houses but oh well; she only played for 30 mins.

I bought the autographed poster and the chocolate.  Very cool.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!  The show is sold out!  Wow, I obviously didnt expect that!  I guess it could be a small venue.

Looks like I'll be trying to buy some outside from someone.

I am planning on being in attendnance.  Haven't purchased my ticket yet though.

Have never been to a performance in the Overture Center (Capitol Theater) yet.  Looking forward to it.

Debating on whether I should get in on Amazon with the digi-book for $10.99 or buy it on iTunes for $13.99 with the extra songs.  As much as I like to avoid iTunes, I may buy it there.

What did everyone think of the show?  Did anyone manage to jot down the set list?

I'll be buying tickets off of craigslist and only staying for Vanessa as I have to drive to LaCrosse, WI for the weekend.

I did the same thing when she opened for Stevie Nicks at Summerfest in 2005 I believe.  Pretty good show even though she played for 45 mins or so.  Im curious as to if this show will be starting right at 7:30pm or not.

I have never been to Ravinia though, wish I could stay for the whole show.

I completely agree with you on the too busy documenting to enjoy the moment front nutnlp.  I often times find myself falling victim to this at shows.

So as far as the posters are concerned, are you just talking posters of the album covers, or concert posters announcing the specific shows at venues?  I know for sure there are posters of just the album covers on eBay.  The venue posters are more difficult to come by, but you can see them on eBay still.

Care to share any of your in-person scores?  And I'm not really talking about autographed pics or shirts.

I remember people getting setlists given to them and then getting them autographed which would be pretty nice to have.

I search randomly for unique things but rarely see anything cool anymore.

I could karate chop myself in the face for not attempting to win handwritten by Vanessa, lyrics to "Ordinary Day" back in like 2003.  They were written on this yellow, old looking parchment paper, totally awesome.  Well, I guess I was in college then so I couldnt really afford it.

Anyone else ever see anything cool that you've won or lost out on?
