All I ask is for 'All I Ask' to be put on an album. <3 I think Fairweather Friends and London are going to be on the album, but 'Waltz' is looking to be sold.

So, if we count those songs:

1. Fairweather Friends
2. London
3. Moneymaker
4. I Don't Want to be a Bride
5. Waltz?

We have nearly half an album. :0

@Rabbits: Vanessa does some of her own background vocals (see 'Papa').

I thought Moneymaker sounded kind of like 'Swindler' or 'C'est La Vie'. <3

I'm hoping for early to mid August. My birthday's the 14th, so it'd be amazing if it came out on or before it.

All I Ask - Insecurity about holding on to what you have; coupled with the feeling that you're moving backwards (I'm in the wrong direction)

Little Mary - Based on the stereotypes surrounding how Vanessa is supposed to be this perfect little girl when she states herself that she is far from it.

San Francisco - It's actually a slap in the face to Stephan, [ I, I know what you did, like a boy of summer gives his first kiss; we're back and you tell me I'm home ] It's also about how she feels at home in the city [this is our utopia]; and should be considered a precursor to 'Home'.

Papa - It's about someone who puts on a fake face towards a relationship even though they don't really care about it.

Ordinary Day - A boy who she didn't know very well; who she thought had everything; she suddenly sees in a new light and falls in love.

Paint it Black - Cover

Dark Carnival - Used in a videogame, actually. It's a precursor to 'Half A Week Before the Winter', with more awesome and less unicorns. [ It's the edge of the dawn, when she looks in your eyes. And she wants what is hers before the light. And she runs on her own, and you'll hurt before you know. Not a sweet alibi, when you get your bloody dose, in the still of the night.]

I think that "cracked" doesn't necessarily mean "finished" but I hope so! This album definitely does sound different... it's making me both excited and apprehensive about what it may sound like... But if the rest of the songs are like London and Fair-Weather friends I'm sure I'll love it :)

Yeah. I agree with you. But I certainly wish she uses the term "cracked" as a substitute for "finished." And I hope too that London would be in the album. It's just too great to be left out.
I have already said that in here and it's my favorite Vanessa track and I'd be disappointed for sure it didn't make to the album. Fingers crossed.

Well, as for the stage in which the album is, I may be wrong, but as far as I know, if she tweeted before that she was adding some more background vocals on some song, then it's a clear sign that the material is done and they're only adding some details. Then she declared that the last song is "cracked" and by that I understand that she has now all the tracks recorded and maybe even mixed. If not, mixing it's not necessarily a long process, can take about two weeks or less and I'm pretty sure that if she wanted to release it quick, it could be on sale in less than two months from now.
done, like the photoshoot for the graphic part, booklet, cover, back, etc. Well, we don't even know if she's going to appear on the photos, we do know V can get reallyyyyy creative LOL. What concern me the most is about the video for the lead single. I luuuv videos and I'd be sad if there wasn't at least one for this era.

The thing about video made me think too. I  hope that she'll have a video for a lead single. Or for London.  ;D I can already imagine her singing while walking  through London's winding streets. But really, releasing a music video would help her to gain more exposure. Radio can do the same, but imo, music vids

And regarding the photoshoot for the album, it made me think too. I wonder how she would portray the theme of the album through its album art....

And her "cracked" term cracks me up...  :-\

Big, big assumption here. But if Fairweather Friends is a) on the album, b) the lead single and c) a music video, it'd look just as cool as London. She could toooootally be walking through Nolita with a clear umbrella in the rain or something. It'd be great.

It's a nice concept. <3 That being said, the two images you used aren't really yours, so it's rather simple. They aren't the same quality so it gives Nessa a blurry look, even though I assume you want to focus on her.

That's just my two-cents, though. Looks good. <3

I like the 1000 views Celebration. The background texts made me laugh, VC hardcore fan til the death.

HA. I know, right? xD  Totally ran out of serious stuff to post. So I threw it in there.

Hallo~ I just thought I'd post some of my artwork from my Deviantart page. I apologize if there's a page stretch. Also, no stealing. Because that would make me sad.

The thing to keep in mind is that we as fans would buy the album if it were called Muddy Lawn.  For VC's good, which is all I'm concerned about, she needs to sell to NON-die-hard-fans, you follow me?  Because of that, why not name the album something intriguing like(from her post) "Time Slipping" or even, gasp....
"Nightmare In Real Time"...something to get people thinking and/or talking about her music.  That there is some kind of symbolic or metaphysical explanation will be lost on 99.9% of people.  Hey, it's not like the album title is the deal maker or deal breaker, but geez!  And no offense to those who disagree but IMO the rabbits title is lame.  I really hope she's messing with us.

Dan/NS

Agreed. That is, she would change the name if she feels like publicizing herself and getting more fans. For some reason, I get the feeling that she knows who her fanbase is, and she is more interested in keeping them interested instead of keeping a looser sort of group and entertaining the general public. I'm guessing she figures that a symbolic title would intrigue others... but seeing that the music industry is predominantly superficial, I doubt they would even care. The meaning behind it is still somewhat engrossing; although, I still prefer Tall Tales for Spring rather than Rabbits on the Run - unless if she is trying to build her bridges with Disney.

I lol'd. That bridge can't be rebuilt, I don't think. I feel like Tall Tales for Spring was much more intriguing anyhow. Of course, that's because it has that fairytale storybook thing going on.

@Lord Star: But if I remember correctly, she seems to only leak songs about a week before the album releases. D;

Also.

"Rabbits on the Run" = "Rabbids on the Run"?

Like. The dog bit her while she was on her daily jog.

See what I did there? 8D

Rush of blood and a little bit of pain ::)

Rush of blood, and a little bit of pain
And on a cloudy day
Jogging's much worse than you think
Dog's my first, mistake

All (bad) lyrical jokes aside, I hope she's okay~

I'm a fan of rabbits, and Alice in Wonderland and all that.

.. And that has got to be the worst album title I've ever heard of. Besides some of Tori Amos's first ones.

Still glad to hear from Nessa, but I think Tall Tales for [Summer, now, I suppose] would work much better.

224
Vanessa, rumor goes, has made her own branch of the Inc. I dunno, I'm running out to Ruby's later. Who knows? I've never seen her there though. xD Anyhow, it'd be funny if she changed it to Tall Tales for Winter or something.

Just to point it out, Nutnlp is my best friend now. <3 You're one hundred percent right, Vanessa has grown up, but that doesn't mean she can't still be fun and down-to-earth. I remember reading somewhere that Alison from A Fine Frenzy made her first album One Cell in the Sea serious because she was trying to hide her young age. Vanessa did it too, even in the beginning she didn't have very upbeat tracks. A Fine Frenzy still has incredibly deep tracks and entrancing vocals, but Alison makes it fun. I think this is what I'd want Vanessa to do. Don't lose her mystery and indie lyrics, but make the tracks varied -- loud, but still really deep.
