Kidding :D

I just don't see it? She looks great. Not especially glammed up and tired, sure. Maybe I'm too quick to pull the trigger, but it's really sad that you (apparently) can't be a female musician and go out with a natural-looking face without people thinking there's something wrong.

Honestly, she cracks me up. She says "If the grapes are even a little bit soft, they're DISGUSTING", only she sounds so enthusiastic about it  ;D

"Love comes back around again, it's a carousel, my friend," sings Vanessa, in a voice soothing enough to make broken-hearted kids everywhere believe it.
Not quite, I think that would take a miracle. It's a great song though   :)

Vanessa Carlton: "Carousel" is the only song I've ever written in a dream that sounded lovely the next morning. The origin of "Carousel" is a dream, hence the dreamscape of the visual. I worked with an inspiring group of artists with impeccable taste. We were careful with its visual symbolism. There is nothing meaningless about it and I hope that comes across. The song is hopeful and it grew out of a very dark place. I think this little film of "Carousel" represents the spectrum of the music and I hope it adds a little spark of something pure and inspiring to the mix out there.

How do you write a song in your sleep? I'd love to be that productive during my own resting hours. I barely remember dreams...

Yum :D

Honestly, I'm not usually a big fan of music videos - by the time I come across them, I've worked up an image of how the song "looks" in my head so usually I just get disappointed. But that was simple enough to be inoffensive.

They're under no obligation to.

Honestly, even if recorded versions did appear, I'd be inclined to wait an extra month so I could hear them in full quality for the first time. Recording in a noisy (or even quiet) store playing from a little speaker system is going to involve some compromise.

OR EVEN BETTER. OUR FIRST STOP IS LONDON. WHAT IF I BOUGHT IT IN LONDON. OH MY GOD HOW PERFECT WOULD THAT BE???
Don't count on that, I haven't heard anything about a (physical) release anywhere outside of the US.

I ordered the album from Amazon.co.uk, but it's marked as an import:

That's what I heard at first too, when I heard the 'real' lyrics it took on much more significance for me :D

The line "I know she let you down" is really, really soothing...

The version I downloaded from Amazon is a 190kbps variable bit rate MP3, encoded with LAME (which is a pretty well regarded MP3 encoder). I'm not the world's biggest audiophile, but it sounded very good to me. So I definitely wouldn't say they messed up the quality in any way.

Still getting the album on CD, though :)
