Ellie Goulding - The Writer

Ellie is an English songwriter, came across this song a few months ago while flicking through the music channels, and was immediately struck by the melody and her very distinctive singing voice.

hmm, I'm undecided.  I think I like her voice, however most of the other songs on utube seem too poppy for her vocals.  The Writer seems more her style but like she is being forced to do this mixed/pop stuff that I can't stand.

Totally agree with you, really don't think her vocals are suited to the other songs,will be interesting to see what road she does go down eventually.I held off buying her album after listening to the other stuff and just bought The Writer.

I do like her cover version of Elton Johns Your Song though, vocally she is far more suited to that type of song.

I know what you guys mean. "The Writer" is the song of hers that caught my attention too, but after listening to her other stuff, I don't know if I like that genre of music. I mean, it's catchy and all, but I wish it was more whispy and folk-y like "The Writer."

I love that shot of her apartment! I know it's unlikely, but the all-black outfit and tights are making me think this video will have some kind of dark superhero vibe or something! Hahaha.

Well, in total, I have watched Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance (I TOTALLY recommend this one, it's sooooo good), Spring Waltz (this one is a little slow, but it's okay and I like the music), My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, and now I'm watching Famous Princesses. I mostly watch the ones with Lee Seung Gi in them, ahaha, because I'm a big fan of him!!  Oh, and I'm looking forward to watching "King 2 Hearts" when it premieres in March.

Which ones have you watched? Yay! I'm glad I found another Nessaholic who likes dramas!

Never seen any of those, but I'll make sure to check them out! I'm seen You're Beautiful, Mary Stayed Out All Night, and some of Cinderella's Sister... I feel like there's one more, but it's slipping my mind at at the moment. I really enjoyed You're Beautiful, but the writers of Mary Stayed Out All Night didn't do a good job. Loved the cast though!

Oh, I've heard "You're Beautiful" is really good. The DVDs are at my nearby library, I'll put that one next on my list!

I think it's better to no expect anything than what she's already given us.  I don't mean this is a defeated, angry way, I just mean that we are only let down by our own expectations of people than the person herself.  If we accept who she is at face value or accept her as who she has presented herself to be, we'd all be more happy!  I mean this in all respects of life really.  Once you let go of expectations, you can more enjoy a person for who he or she really is.  That is why I just patiently wait, check the sites every day (or every few days, depending on what's going on) and ENJOY the fact that she is tweeting at all, and ENJOY the fact that she is giving me inspirations and new things to try and explore.  Thanks V!

What you say about expectations is so true! Even V agrees, "I don't wanna have expectations..." I like your perspective. But a major bummer about the music video though.

No, They are not the same, but I was craving hash browns the other day. I think I prefer hash browns because I have bad memories of the school cafeteria tater tots from elementary school-- yuck!
