I don't know if any of you know him, but he's an amazing singer/songwriter, definitely worth checking out. He's really quiet and mellow, though a bit Bob Dylanesque sometimes.

He's released a whole bunch of albums already, though most of them independently I think. Some of his music's been used in shows like Grey's Anatomy (I think he might even be on the GA soundtrack) and Lost.

If you're curious, try downloading The City, I Love The Rain The Most, Suitcase, Come Back Down Joe, Surgery, Meteor City... he has tons of good stuff.

Can you believe America Ferrera's only 22?! Dunno, maybe it's just me, but it shocked me to find out she was born on the same year as me! She gave a great speech but the best speech of the night was, hands down, Hugh Laurie. Hee.

So... a couple of things...

a) Golden Globes-wise.

- Grey's Anatomy won Best Drama! YAY!
- No awards for the actors of Grey's. Shame. At least Hugh Laurie won instead.
- How appalling is it that CLINT EASTWOOD - with Steven Spielberg producing! - won BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM! Seriously. It's an American film, even if it's been filmed in Japanese. I call that cheating.

b) Oscar noms-wise

- YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for Little Miss Sunshine! Best film in 2006. I was so surprised to see it nominated, but such a good surprise :)
- Pe a.k.a. Penelope Cruz. Neverconsidered her a good actress, but she's Spanish (and actually did a great job on Volver) so I'm happy she's been nominated
- I loved how moved Salma Hayek was with all of Pan's Labyrinth's and Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu's noms. And the little "yay" when Pe was nominated.

Hmm don't think I'm forgetting anything. So, yeah, that's all :)

Ah, well, I honestly wouldn't mind if the character Burke was written off the show. He's my least favourite of them all, and I think he manages to make Cristina less interesting. Cristina alone = brilliant. Cristina with Burke = boring. Blah, I just don't like him. Isaiah Washington aside.

what's that one beer called? it's like heffavizen or something. Always find myself drinking it in the most random places but never ask for it cuz I don't know how to pronounce it! damnit!

Hefeweizen or Hefeweissbier a.k.a. wheat beer. It's my favourite type of beer too, a bit heavy but so yummy :)

Nere - you look gorgeous as always. I love tall boys too, my "boy" right now is 6'3"... and I'm 5'2". Such a nice pic! :)

Thanks! I <3 tall boys, even though I'm really short! The height difference with my bf is more or less the same as yours. If I'd been in Spain it wouldn't have been that bad cause I always wear heels here, but in Germany I hardly ever did so it was a lot more obvious!

PS: Rosie! PM. Promise. Soon. Long and nice, I swear ;)

That's the name of the castle. Hmm actually, now that I think of it we weren't exactly on the castle, the picture was taken from the patio in front of the smaller castle next to it (Hohenschwangau). The nearest village is called Schwangau but the town people know the castles by is Füssen, a few km away

Since I hadn't posted in ages

My bf and I in Neuschwanstein. You can tell there's a slight ;) height difference there - tiny me, huge him. And that funny looking bulk on his stomach is the camera case

The beer you have in America hardly counts as an alcoholic drink!

Neither does British beer.  As far as alcohol content goes, the only country that gets to be snobbish are the Belgians.

How about German beer huh?

Hey people! I just saw this!

Thanks so much for the wishes! :)

It was, indeed, one of the best birthdays in years - though, like Rosie said, not necessarily the easiest. I had a great time though, it was definitely one to remember

I know who she is, but only knew her as an actress! App she used to date James Franco too (and appears in a film with him) I had no idea she was a musician too

Oh I like this thread! Fun!

I burnt a bunch of mixed CDs for friends over Christmas, with no theme in particular except it being the music I like. This would be one of them:

1. Omaha - Counting Crows
2. New Slang - The Shins
3. Fascinate You - Ari Hest
4. I'm Still Here - Veritcal Horizon
5. Why Georgia - John Mayer
6. Love Will Come Through - Travis
7. Something Honest - Curtis Peoples
8. Princess - Matt Nathanson
9. Long Day - Matchbox 20
10. Small Town Boy - Josh Kelley
11. Nice To Meet You (Anyway) - Gavin DeGraw
12. That For You - Matt Wertz
13. 0% Interest (live) - Jason Mraz
14. Chin Up, Cheer Up - Ryan Adams
15. Lucky To Know You - Blue Merle
16. Sitting, Waiting, Wishing - Jack Johnson
17. I Am - Michael Tolcher
18. Morning After - Howie Day
19. Late Night Radio - David Gray
20. What Am I Gonna Do - Dave Barnes

:) That CD pretty much sums up my taste in music, I would say.
