Looks delicious Megan; is it just supposed to be a Pineapple/Midori/Galiano type cocktail? What's in a HCtS??  :P

Peace

Aaron

I think it is pineapple juice, midori and white rum. They're awesome and only 5 bucks!! :o At that price, I now can't bring myself to drink anywhere else!

Here's what I looked like last night, just about to walk into the Cavern Club for a Beatles show (erm... obviously not the real Beatles, lol)
It was sooo good! :D

That is so cool! Like the hair color and the eyes.  :)

Thanks! (you too iluvvanessa)
I used to dye my hair but now it is my natural colour (I had forgotten what it looked like, lol!)
That bit that looks like red and green is just a reflection from the sign, lol.
It was an awesome show. It was sooo much fun. I danced in a cage! Lol! I can't say I've ever done that before but it was super fun. The tribute band is called the "Fab Four". The "real" Cavern is in Liverpool... this is the Adelaide, South Australia version, hehe.

Here's another from the night:

(My friend Lucy and I enjoying cocktails named "Here Comes the Sun" after the Beatles song)

I love H&T. Sure, it's pop, and catchy, but it has such a MELANCHOLY to it. It's so aching. Every single song, except maybe Nolita.

That's cool that you got that from it. I didn't, which is why I was disappointed.

I talked to my therapist who does CBT with me and we made a contract with a list of a whole bunch of things to do instead of cutting. I've not cut since, though I've really really wanted to.
Thanks for your support guys. It's so appreciated. Sincerely.
Cavin

That's really great to hear. I know it's hard but it sounds like you're doing really well and that's something to be proud of. Do you know why it is that you feel so bad?

It's great to have them but not all the transcriptions are accurate- especially White Houses! The melody line is written for the right hand!

Completely Off-Topic / Customer Service....

YA author Maureen Johnson wrote this bit in answer to a customer-related question on her blog. :P don't know how much actual help it would be though, lol.

Quote from: "Maureen Johnson"
I have held many jobs in which I dealt with the public. I remember well dealing with bitchy, longwinded, annoying, unfriendly people who have come to take your time and ruin your life. This kind of customer is impossible to dismiss. They don’t care about you, or the other people, or common decency. They’ll scream, they’ll throw money in your face, knock things off shelves. They’ll make twenty people wait in line behind them while they rant and rave and announce that they don’t care. You can never be rude back, sadly, as that just adds fuel to the fire (and see the above questions for where that will get you).

This kind of anti-Cheer behavior must be stopped. I used to employ many methods for doing this. Here is one of my favorites. It never failed me.

Say you work at Target, at the customer service counter. For the last twenty minutes, you have watched a horrible woman screaming about the fact that the store has run out of the Hannah Montana Rockstar Powerdrill and Bake Sets that were advertised in the circular. She has been taking out her wrath on an innocent checkout girl. The checkout girl, reduced to tears, pointed at your counter in defeat. Now it is your turn for punishment. But no. You will not go down quietly. You need to be one step ahead of her. Before she even gets to your desk, run around so that you are standing in front of her on the same side of the counter. Bow low at the waist and pretend to take off a hat.

From this point on, speak entirely in Renaissance Fair speak. Wring your hands together and say something like, “Please, good madam, speak to me that I may absorb the gist of your need!”

This should set her a little off-balance, but she’ll keep rambling on. Whatever she says, just look shocked and exclaim “Most injurious, sweet lady! Most assuredly injurious!” Offer her a chair. If there is no chair, offer your own back as a bench. Say, “Fie on this! Fie, fie! Come. Together we shall investigate this injustice and rectify all that seeks rectification.”

Lead her away. Make sure to keep stopping and bowing and that you always walk a few steps behind. Go to the toy section, but to the wrong aisle. Proceed to take every single toy off the shelf and ask, “Doth this be the object of merriment?” Whenever she looks like she is tiring of you, jump up and down and exclaim, “Curseth my pumpkin head! I have possessed the knowledge all this while! I will bring the bauble henceforth!” Disappear. Come back with a toaster oven.

After an hour or so, when you have exhausted all the objects in the aisle, scream at the top of your lungs and say, “Fair lady! Fair lady! Do you hear the sound of carriage wheels on the road and the steps of a hundred mighty horses? I THINK THE QUEEN IS COMING!” Run out of the store and never come back.

 oh that's great. This cheered me up after a crap day at work.
Hannah Montana Rockstar Powerdrill
Next time I want to swear at customers, I'll do this instead.

I don't know what this has to do with Metallica- was it taken at their MTV Icon show?

and then only came into the public eye again when it was necessary to sell the music.

"decided to score some more cash from the people she obviously doesn't give two shits about."

I can understand why you think that, but I don't agree. Of course I do not know her, but my perception is that she makes music for the love of music, rather than to make money. She had the overwhelming fame from a young age- so now she wants a regular, anonymous life with her partner and child. I think she deserves that, and her fans are used to the way she works now.

Then, in my opinion, she should choose a profession that doesn't come with those kind of attachments. I feel that if you are a musical artist, you are obligated to engage your fans. Does she make music cause she likes to and then doesn't care whether or not it sells? I doubt it. I bet she likes her house and clothes and her bills being paid.
I couldn't get used to that kind of attitude, as a fan. I don't respect artists who don't express their gratitude for their fans. That's why, if Vanessa continues down this road, I'm going to end up not caring about her, either. I love her music, but if she doesn't care that I pay for it then I'm not going to... Sad to say about one of my once favorite artists.

I certainly agree that if you want to be a musical artist, then you are "obligated to engage your fans". I was only disagreeing with you about Kate Bush- but I can definitely see why you would perceive her in that way- wasn't meaning to argue or anything. I can also (sadly) agree with you  about Vanessa.

A looong time ago I read that George Michael wanted to keep recording music (I don't listen to his music so I don't know if this is happening) but give it away as free downloads to his fans rather than sell CD's. He said loves making music but felt he had already made enough money off the fans.
Now there's a grateful artist. I think that's really cool.

It is harder to know what is going on with Vanessa as we are without the benefit of hindsight and we are used to her "letting us in".

Continuing on with Shannon's point, I think that approach is perhaps the most successful for an artist in this "communication age". Long ago though, before the internet etc. part of the artist's appeal was their distance. They were larger than life- like a fantasy.
