Vanessa Songs / Lyrics / Sheet Music / "The One"
« on: October 17, 2007, 06:40:54 pm »
Stevie Nicks is my all time favorite singer, but I have to admit, I liked it better without her. I agree that Stevie and Vanessa's voices don't blend that well together. The only parts I really like in the released version is the opening harmonies and then the linem "guess you could say that I'm already gone." << That's when Stevie actually sings and doesn't sound so "robotic" as I've heard others label her.

I really liked that article. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know. For some reason I don't think this CD has been promoted enough. I mean I know she's been doing a lot of things, but I haven't even heard it on the radio once yet!

It's getting some airplay here. So far I've heard it three times.

Disappointing but at least she made it to the top 50. It's really sad that one of the best albums of the year is selling so bad.

This is just the first week sales guys! Back in the day artists and bands never debuted highly. They worked their way up the charts. Let's give Nolita Fairytale some time. Maybe more stations will pick up on it. If not, there's always a second single to hopefully increase sales.

Do you hang out outside the venue and catch her while she's leaving?

I'm assuming Vanessa wrote all of the songs on Heroes and Thieves, but I can't find any place that says it in the cd booklet. Does anyone have more info on this...if she wrote the songs alone, or if she co-wrote some. I'm really interested to know.

I got Heroes and Thieves yesterday and I have to say as a whole, it's easily the best work she's ever done.

Spring Street is my standout favorite. I'm also partial to Come Undone.

I just hope that this album sells well. It deserves to be heard!

I love the performance's intimacy induced by just VC and her piano. It highlights the vulnerability in her songs.

I totally agree. I have found that I prefer her songs sung with just the piano. I listen to the released albums, but my favorite versions of the songs are always the live ones when she plays alone.
I wouldn't mind if she permanently opened for Stevie. I love the setup. Just extend it a little bit. lol.
