I always like to share the projects that I work on with everyone here. “Off The Island” is a short film based on the TV show ‘Lost’, however it takes place…well, off the island, and revolves around Chase Jackson, who’s searching for his brother, Scott Jackson (an actual character on ‘Lost’ from Season 1).
The film is actually getting a lot of internet buzz right now, which is great considering it’s still being shot. Check out the production journal below to learn more about the film and check out some set pictures from the first few days of shooting.

anyone seen it? I've heard great things about it and will check it out this weekend.
Olive (Abigail Breslin) is a little girl with a dream: winning the Little Miss Sunshine contest. Her family wants her dream to come true, but they are so burdened with their own quirks, neuroses, and problems that they can barely make it through a day without some disaster befalling them. Olive's father Richard (Greg Kinnear) is a flop as a motivational speaker, and is barely on speaking terms with her mother (Toni Collette). Her uncle Frank (Steve Carell), a renowned Proust scholar, has attempted suicide following an unsuccessful romance with a male graduate student. Her brother Dwayne (Paul Dano), a fanatical follower of Nietzsche, has taken a vow of silence, which allows him to escape somewhat from the family whose very presence torments him. And Olive's grandfather (Alan Arkin) is a ne'er-do-well with a drug habit, but at least he enthusiastically coaches Olive in her contest talent routine. Circumstances conspire to put the entire family on the road together with the goal of getting Olive to the Little Miss Sunshine contest in far off California.

anybody else been watching HEIST on Wednesdays? its a pretty damn good show...it sucks now that it goes up against LOST though....i'm enjoying it though.

Completely Off-Topic / He's gone...

Last night, my best friend Wayne Trible passed away. Its still kind of hard for me to believe. He fought for a little over 2 years to beat the cancer. He never gave up...shit'...i barely know what to say right now. It's been a long time since I've broken down and cried as much as I did this morning. I can't even imagine how his family is doing right now. I spoke to his father-in-law a little while ago. He said they're doing the best they can. They're setting up funeral arrangements for sometime Wednesday or Thursday. I know its going to be tough.
He was such a good person. I became friends with him in 1999 when I started working at Electrophysics. Wayne was always big on fishing, and got me into it as well. He taught me a lot about it. Wish we had been able to take more fishing trips. I never caught anything worth keeping. He also got me hooked on Boxing and Ultimate Fighting. We'd get together every month and watch whatever fight was on. Taught me how to play poker...whenever we watched a fight, we'd try and get a card game together as well. Always had a fun time. He was just so good to everyone he knew and I've never seen anyone love their family like he loved his wife Tammi and daughter Ashley.
I'm glad I became friends with Wayne, and I'm going to miss him a lot.
I want to thank all of you who prayed for him since I made that thread last year. (prayer thread) Thank you for not giving up on him. And continue to pray for his family.
