General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Re: Liberman
« on: March 27, 2015, 05:31:44 pm »
The more I think about this Instagram preview the more confused I am about it... Here are my thoughts:

It can't be any of the following songs cause she played six of them live already:
Willow
Take it Easy
House of 7 Swords
Young Heart
Matter of Time
Unlock the Lock

I also know for a fact that it's not Blue Pool or Ascension... So, what does that leave us with?  I'm thinking it has to be River or
Nothing Where Something Used to Be.  Or maybe she just looped a preview of Patience( but how could that be when she confirmed only 10 tracks at that wasn't one of them)?   But if you pause the Instagram video you can see that it has ten tracks listed, then the one that is check marked is #11 and that's what she's playing in the background, or maybe I'm looking way too much into this. Who the heck knows, I'll be patiently waiting for the album release though.

(UPDATE I uploaded the screenshot I took if anyone wants to comment...

V responded to my tweet and said that the album is not leaked and whatever people think they have, they don't.  So, rest easy phantom friends :)

I think this is a new low for some people. It's just a sleezy move on some people's parts to release an artist's album without their permission before official announcements were made.  I really wish people would respect V's privacy and wishes to release the album at a later date, I mean she went through a lot the past couple years, just give her time to enjoy her new family and life.  It just really upsets me that people would go to lengths to spam the album all over the Internet and claim they will "buy" a lot of copies when it comes out.  Everyone needs to have"patience," in due time she will release the album or she won't. As true fans we should stick by her side and wait it out.

Kulp and Nicole I had a feeling she'd announce right after the PA show!! I'm so happy for her and John!! Congrats V:)
That also explains why she wore that short dress that was rather flowy that night!!

haha yeah.

I love how she used a photo of the Bethlehem Steel Stacks in the background to announce this!!

oh i know, right? but it was such a cool backdrop haha! congrats on the baby girl V =)))

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Re: New Album- Euphoria?!
« on: February 28, 2014, 12:51:17 am »
Looks as if the new album won't be called Euphoria but "Liberman."  Lieberman, Liebermann, or Liberman are names deriving from Lieb, a German and Jewish (Ashkenazic) nickname for a person from the German lieb or Yiddish lib, meaning 'dear, beloved'.[1] Many Lieberman families originally spelled the name in Hebrew or Cyrillic characters, so variations in the spelling occurred during transliteration to the Latin alphabet.

This makes sense now, seeing as she is Jewish and her past tweets talked about liberman.

If I could get my hands on some highly sophisticated software that would allow me to translate my piano playing to sheet music, I would have this song pieced together for you guys.  For the most part at least. I could try to upload a video somewhere of me playing the chunks I know to help anyone get started on some new music? :) any takers?

Yeah, I'm in the process of uploading my videos that I took.  It's just taking a super long time right now! And yeah, he kept interrupting and saying stuff like "Do you watch Coven," "You should name the album Dude Ranch," and you just could tell on her and Skye's face that they were slightly annoyed by it. But they were troopers and made a great last show!

Here are the videos that I could upload for now:

Take it Easy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFR00ZKDZig
Willows - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxEcAeXaaXY
Unlock the Lock - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1q2dsryopQ

Live Shows / 11/29 Club Cafe, Pittsburgh, PA (Review)

So, if some of you guys did not know, tonight was the last show of Vanessa's November tour and it couldn't have ended on a better note (minus the crazy drunk man I'll talk about later).  This had to be one of the most magical performances I have seen of Vanessa's to date and I cherished every minute of it.  Her and Skye rounded out the last show, without fiance John (Lord Victor also was not present this show).  She and Skye both seemed to be having a really good time for this last show.  She talked a bit about her sickness and how Hear the Bells was inspired from that time and she also mentioned Stevie, because some drunk guy asked if she watched American Horror Story: Coven and she said she does.  V ended up dedicating Hear the Bells to Stevie (or maybe Get Good).  V also told us about the Dude Ranch and how she enjoyed her time there and the countless amount of lacrosse guys who knew all the lyrics to White Houses.

I was deeply upset that V did not come out at the end of the show to sign merchandise for her fans, this was due to the fact that a drunk man was interrupting her speeches between songs and ended up trying to follow her up to the lounge of the venue.  Needless to say, he was thrown out and banned from the venue.  However, myself and two other girls chose to wait out in the cold for about 30-45 minutes post-show to see if her tour management would invite us inside, or Vanessa would come out and say hi.  Luckily for us, they saw that we were not deranged crazy fans and invited us back into the venue.  If some of you Nessaholics don't know, I hold the manuscript to Twilight, along with the orchestration CD.  Both V and Skye were so fascinated that I had this piece of musical history and looked through it.  I got her to sign it and also politely asked for a quick group photo, which she graciously agreed to.  I am so thankful that I got to see her after the show and I had such a magical evening!

I tried my best to record all of the songs she played tonight but I was conserving on my iPhone battery so I could record the new songs.  I managed to get all of the new songs and most of the ones from Rabbits on the Run (with the exception of Carousel and Tall Tales for Spring).  I also have a few pictures I'm going to upload this evening.

Here was tonight's set-list: (The photo I took of the set-list has Home listed as the last encore but V ended up playing The Marching Line in stead).

Learning to Fly / Carousel
Hands On Me
Tall Tales For Spring
House of Seven Swords
Take it Easy
Willows
White Houses
Get Good
Unlock the Lock
Hear the Bells
I Don't Want to Be a Bride

Encore:
A Thousand Miles
The Marching Line

Here are some pictures from the show:
