Polls / As Told By Ginger Songs

ok, some people may not know this show because for some reason, even though it was THE LAST OF THE BEST NICKTOONS IN THE WORLD AND FOR SOME REASON PEOPLE DIDN'T GIVE IT THE CREDIT IT DESERVED.
Anyway, it was about a nerdy girl named Ginger Foutley going through middle school, and facing all the middle school expiriences with her friends Dodie, Macie, and Darren.
Anyway, near the end of it's running, Ginger starts to write poems and write songs, instead of just her usual recording stuff into a journal. Also, Darren wrote a song for Ginger, when they become boyfriend/girlfriend at the end of 8th grade.  And in addition, the popular girl, Courtney Gripling, also had a themesong. lol :D
I'll provide a link to each of the songs:

ahh....the good old days. I was sorta young back then, only 6 or 7 in the late 90's, but i was liked HOOKED to Nick. So i saw some of the shows like Clarissa Explains it all, Alex Mac occaisonally, All That, and the Amanda Show
But what i mainly watched were the nicktoons like Doug, Rocko, Rugrats,Rocket Power and Hey Arnold!
Most of you probably don't remember this show cos it premiered in the early 2000's, but As Told By Ginger. It was about a nerdy girl in middle school, who loves to write, and along the way is going through expiriences that most teens face along with her friends Dodie, Macie, and Darren (who eventually comes popular, and her boyfriend after he gets his headgear off).
The show got canceled in 2005, and she was only through her first year in high school. Man, i loved that show. Sometimes, late at night, it still comes on Nicktoons, and i watch it, just for fun. It's funny...it still does what it used to do to me when i was about 8 or 9; enjoying every minute, hanging on to every word, and when you see those credits up on the screen, there's such an ache in you like "it's....really....over?"
Ginger just reminds me so much of myself, and i can relate so much right now, currently going through my middle school years.
I miss it to death :(

Ha...are you afraid of the dark scared me, so i never watched it :(
but i'd do anything just to see one episode.

Polls / What is your favorite saying from H&T

I bought the H&T album on iTunes, and a digital little booklet came with it, full of lyrics (too tiny to read), and sayings, i guess you could call them. Which one do you like the best?

I said H&T, but looking at them freshly I think I like BnN the best- I  think its cause its her first album, and its so sweet and innocent  :D

Yah...i like  BNN too! It's such a sweet, innocent pic, like you said. I also LOVE Harmonium, it's just an amazing and fresh cover. But i don't like H&T too much...i don't like the color, and the pic. of Vanessa looks a bit intimidating, and not in a good way, but i LOVE the songs in her new album...i think that makes up for it, lol :)

Polls / What "A Thousand Miles" Means To You
« on: December 27, 2007, 11:29:33 am »
hmm....it means missing someone you love. So, for me it's just wanting to go that far, to want to see the people you love, that haven't been in your everyday life. That might be sorta confusing, but that's what it means to me.

Do you mean notes as in "A, B, C"
Or as in the sheet music?

i mean notes as in A, B, C...i don't know how to read sheet music, but i know notes...i'm an ammature, lol.

Maybe it would help to study techniques as to reading sheet music. You would not know how AMAZING it is once you can learn how to read sheet music. You can hypothetically play anything.

yeah, it would. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I'd have to say Where the streets have no name, hands down as its an awesome driving song!!

Greensleeves is an excellent song too, really love the way she does it.

hmm...I have heard of Greensleeves, but i've never heard it before. I should probably check it out, lol.

I've never heard Vanesa's cover of Where The Streets Have No Name, but I must admit I am a total sucker for the Paint It Black song (in both versions) but I absolutely LOVE the cover way more than the original. I like how the instruments go in that one. Especially the intro, and the thing that fades in before she says "No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue..."

Paint It Black is such a vunderful song.

yah....lol....it is. I like it better than where the streets. :)

Vanessa Songs / Lyrics / Sheet Music / Colors?
« on: December 16, 2007, 06:18:33 pm »
that's so kewl! Me too sometimes.  And i like colors, but i hate art....most of the time.
Hands On Me is a deep, dark blue;  Fools Like Me is a green with flecks of red; dark carnival is a deep, rich purple for me; pretty baby is a light blue...and so on.

Hey guys! so this is Where The Streets have no name vs. Paint it Black, both covered by Vanessa Carlton. Paint it Black (by Rolling Stones) on BNN, and Where The Streets Have No Name (by U2), on her UK (i dunno if this is right) version of Harmonium. Which is better? Which does it better? the original band, or VC?

I knew Jenah would be sent home.  I thought Chantal would win, but it was funny when that guy pissed her dress and fell down, plus it wasn't her fault and she was walking like she has a stick in her neck!

iT WAS TERRIBLE WHEN THAT GUY TRIPPED IT WAS SO NOT HER FAULT!!

I know! it totally wasn't her fault, and i felt the judges acted like it sorta was....like she should've kept on walking and not even noticed him. I would've done the same as Chantal, little scared, and wanting to go over and help him up, and all. I was sorta dissapointed that Chantal didn't win....Saleisha was a little boring in my opinion.
