General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Re: Meet and greets
« on: November 24, 2015, 12:11:26 pm »
So my meet and greet was supposed to be yesterday but V cancelled her show (Hamilton, ON). I'm beyond devastated. I hope everything is okay with her family but I'm really sad that it couldn't happen. I've been waiting years to see her  :'( I'm probably being selfish but I kinda just wanted to get it out. I hope she reschedules either in Hamilton or Toronto. But like I said more importantly I hope everyone in her family is in good health.

Vanessa Songs / Lyrics / Sheet Music / Willows Sheet Music
« on: September 05, 2015, 05:36:58 pm »
Hello everyone! I'm quite interested in creating sheets for Willows since it's one of my favourites. I don't have any experience in creating sheet music by ear but I think I might've figured out some of the chord progressions as a start.

I think the first verse:
(Find a love -->To bring strength to the bones)
Goes C# minor, A maj, E maj, B maj

Chorus
(Our weeping willow --> keep safe my love)
Goes F# minor, A maj, F# minor, E maj (?)

Anyone willing to help a girl out?  :D

I'm 17 years old and I have struggled with mental illness ever since I was 13. I was hospitalized for anorexia when I was 15, and I've been struggling with self harm issues ever since.
I really do believe that everyone has something they're dealing with, but no one ever wants to talk about it. Basically everyone I know has some connection to some form of mental illness, but I think that society really has a problem with it.
In general, what's the opinion on self harm, anyway? I do it as a way to cope with frustration, anger, sadness... and I've always been afraid to tell my parents and doctor about it, thinking they'll overreact and think I'm trying to kill myself. But that's not the case... It's just what I do to deal with things. I know it's not the healthiest way and I'm trying to get over it. But do you ever wonder about people? Like if they have inexplicable cuts/burns? I just assume everyone thinks like me... instantly suspicious, but only because it's what I always experience.

Creative Endeavors / Please Read my Blog

Hello! Thank you to anyone who's reading this. I started writing a blog on blogspot this past June, and I'd like it if you could all check it out!

It makes sense if you start at the beginning, but I don't usually relate my blog posts to each other! It just gives you a background of my fairytale.

'This Time' reminds me of like... avoiding relapse, in a sense? Like, I had anorexia and there are certain things that set me back, but like This Time can describe choosing a different path of getting yourself out of a problem. For example, instead of doing what you usually do about stress that's not necessarily actually helping you, you can choose to do something else that does help you. I guess this song can also be about going through a hard time in life.

I am so happy about this new album ! I wasn't sure what was going on with her, and if we'd ever hear anything from her again. I stopped coming here for awhile.. but I am so glad I came back! I am in love with Tall Tales for Spring. So exciting guys ! Her album, which by the way has an amazing title, will be the best yet.

It's so good that she's participating in this, and she's helping the organization and her record.

"..and is working on her fourth." YES! I was beginning to doubt that we'd ever hear from her again. but now we have a new album to look forward to.

I'm sad that we've not heard more from her. I used to be a huge fan, which.. I suppose I still am, she's just not fresh in my mind. Most people are growing impatient, but maybe it will get better with the release of a new album. Hopefully someone still believes in her, and she can even produce and sell one.
It's unfortunate: she's beautiful and talented, but to most people, she's "Vanessa who?"

^ Interesting idea/  ;)

My friends and I are under the age of 16, and a few of them are sexually active with their boyfriends. Before I learned this, I was leaning towards the idea of waiting until marriage, but then it got me thinking. I never really pictured myself doing it when I was in my high school years, but it now seems so realistic and easy. I always ask how it happens... and they just say "It just happened".  And my mother wants me to wait until I'm atleast 18... but I can't figure out if it's really a big deal anymore, as long as you're able to deal with possible pregnancy, STDs, and emotions afterwards. (although if it's the first time, there shouldn't be any STDs involved)
