this amazing tour is now coming to an end. stevie has been beyond generous. she completely absorbed me into her colorful and inspiring world. she's introduced me to interesting artists (painters and musicians). she's written me words of encouragment and praise. and most importantly, i know she believes in me. everytime i walked on stage this summer i felt her chiffon draped hands upon my shoulders.
it's easy to feel beaten up by an industry as tough as this one, but i know i will never walk with my head down again. afterall,stevie always says, "walk like a queen". i feel rehabilitated and refreshed and i am thoroughly diggin the new songs.
i'm goin into the studio mid september with linda perry to begin my third album. she friggin rocks my world.

with women like stevie and linda behind me i don't think i can go wrong.
i think it's safe to say that i'm one lucky bitch. ; )

love you guys. thanks for stickin with. you're the reason why i do this afterall

what a lovefest. ...doesn't it make you sick?

hello all! wanted to do a quick check in from the road. this tour is so plush and lovely. stevie is one of the most generous women i've ever met. i have to say i welcome the challenge of having to prove myself every night to a group of fans that may not know me. in the end, it's always so rewarding.
somehow my marathon training hasn't suffered a step despite the tour. i swear i'm gonna be able to burn rubber soon. i'm quick.
will start work on new record in august. meanwhile i'm practicing the new ones at every show. i promise that this time around, everyone will know that i have an album out! you guys are my rocks. talk soon

guys, i've been trying to post for like 5 days! it's killing me. i hate computer.
kay, really quick before it won't let me post anymore.

def try to make it this tuesday to the living room show. it's at 7pm, it's cheap and i'm playin new stuff. if i may be so bold, can i ask for some extra love on this evening? there will be some record execs who need to witness you in all your glory. meaning don't be afraid to
1 make an ass of yourself singing the wrong (or right lyrics)
2 sport vc stuff
3 make request
4 scream like you're in the garden (only if your overcome with REAL joy)

so i think it's about time that i address a few issues that are screaming for attention.
a) unfortunately, there will be no second single on this album. there are a handful of people at my label that do not see how great the album would do if it was promoted. yes, there are shortsighted (nonmusical bastards) and it sucks, but that's the way it goes. welcome to the music biz.
2!) i worked my ass off promoting harmonium in the ways that i could control, but you can't sell records to someone in the middle of indiana without a little help. (i like indiana).
c)the people (you) that have supported this record and love it are my true and ultimate fanbase. don't worrry i will continue churning out the goods no matter how big or small the albums are.
4) i'm writing some killer songs for my 3rd album (most people will know it as my second!). and feel that i am about to FINALLY settle down with a group of people that "get" what kind of artist i am. (yes, there will be a lot of changes going on.) no i am not a pop princess (current label doesn't realzie this important tidbit). though i know that everyone reading this knows that, the rest of the world should and will figure it out at some point as well.
8) i had a blast on tour (which i never do), and i can't wait to get back on the road. look for an album in early next year (yes, it will probably get pushed back : )

it won't be advertised for a week or so, but i want you all to mark these dates in your calendars. june 21 and june 23rd at 9:30pm. i'll be premiering some new tunes as well. can't wait to see you guys there. kay, i now have to tend to my new dyson vacuum cleaner. it's sooooo yellow!

just wanted to let the special peeps know that im goin to book two gigs in the beginning of june. the venue holds about a hundred people so keep your eyes peeled for dates. note: i had a great time touring these past two months. you guys rock my world for sheez

how is everyone? thanks to all who are making it out to the shows. you guys keep me in business. i never forget that. i've got a day off tomorrow. can't wait.nyc was so beautiful today. i'm itching for springiness. i hope you are all enjoying this album as much as i love playing it every night. i've been so happy lately. you all make me blush. things are lookin' up for this year and next. happy spring my favorite peeps.

I'm laying on the floor (on an itch rug ) of my unfurnished house in nyc. sorry it's been so long. I want to thank the fine folk who still follow the site. I miss seeing you all on the road. I should be out again at the end of february. did you all roast chestnuts and eats lots of pie the holiday season? i went horseback riding in arizona. it was serious fun, though i did get thrown a couple of times which ended with a serious case of whiplash. hope you are all well, and I promise to check in more.

back in nyc tonight. the japanese rock. so lucky to be able to travel to place like that. anyway, I just walked out on a movie called I heart hucabees. I've do that a lot lately. getting ready for tour for the next few days. so psyched to get back out on the road. I hope you all get to make it!! you guys mean so much to me. 3 weeks till the record "Drops". finally!!! I think you're all gonna dig it. talk soon.

as far as I can tell some dude made up some story about me touring with a 17 piece orchestra this month. what I want to know is why 17? anyway, it's not true. as I said before, it's just me, you, and a piano this tour. it's super intimate. see you all there. by the way, I'm in brazil and it's raining. bummer. off to rio tomorrow! never been. I'd like to recommend one of the best films I've ever seen in my life (it happens to be about the ghetto outside of rio), it's call City of God. please rent it. peace

just want you all to know that I'm just as annoyed about how "unrefreshed" this site is as you all are. I swear to you the new site is coming. I just finished working on it with my awesome art team. also, just wanted to say thanks for the support with white houses. I'm so happy you dig it. more to come noevember 9th. looking forward to seeing you all on the road. be sure to come out cause this is as intimate as it gets (plus it's favorite kind of environment to play in). it's basically my living room tour. hey I should name it that! anyway, you guys calling up radio stations is awesome. looking forward to sharing this record with you guys. it's gonna be trippy.

I'm listening to the album as we speak. what a coup!! I cannot wait for you all to hear it. the wait time is gonna kill me. I'm doing a video in a few weeks with sophie muller. also the website is gonna get a makeover. I don't know about you but I'm sick of it now. look out for white houses mid july. and the album to follow in sept. harmonium lives... for real ...and you're all gonna freak. I just know it.
