General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Participate in Vanessa Carlton DVD Taping -- Los Angeles

Were you upset you couldn't make it to New York?  Do you want to have an interview segment on the DVD?  Here is your chance.

Gavin Booth and his team are the individuals creating the Vanessa DVD.  In an effort to ensure that he can provide us the best possible DVD, he is willing to do additional taping with fans in the Los Angeles area sometime between Jan 26th and Jan 28th.  Much like the taping in New York City, information will probably be last minute and on the fly.

There will not be a performance with Vanessa and the video taping will most likely be done at a random location like a coffee house or a park in a very casual setting.  The goal is to contrast the very bad weather in new york, and all the in studio taping with something a little nicer.

So the question now is; are you available those dates and can you make it to LA?  Consider this a NESSAholic meetup!!!

If you can, please post in this thread that you're able to and provide suggestions of a good place to do the taping!  Perhaps something in Hollywood or something on the beach?  I'll ensure I get you in touch with Gavin if you're able to attend.

So i'm watching TV yesterday... actually not really watching, it's just going on in the background, and i hear A Thousand Miles... so *obviously* i look up.  It's a commercial for a walk being sponsored by Avon!  You can check it out at www.avonwalk.org.  I wonder if this might be something for us to support since there are dates in numerous cities.  How neat would it be for NESSAholics to go to their nearest city to support the cause?

I think i saw Emmanuelle Chriqui in an Eclipse Gum Commercial tonight... anyone else know of her?  I saw her in On The Line and 100 Girls and thought she was a good actress... just surprising to see her in a commercial.

Hey,

Eva is an unknown (for now) band in the NYC area.  I downloaded a few mp3s off their site and was amazed... i really really liked what i heard.  The lead singer is Rebekka Carol and she has a very unique and beautiful voice.

You can find sample mp3s here and their forum (where the band participates extensively is here).

I'd like to know what you guys think =)

p.s. the domain registration for Rebekka Carol seems to have lapsed for now... so you can only check out the stuff on the Eva site.

FAQ / Board Issues / Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day/Kwanzaa Logos

Hey...

This is going to follow the same process as the Thanksgiving Logos and the Hanukkah Logos so i won't post all the specifics.  There will be something a bit different though... you can post up to *two* logos for Christmas... one for Eve and one for Day!  They will share the logo spot for the forums with the Hanukkah logo of choice for that day.  Same sizes and NESSArelatedNESS is required

We'll accept them till the 17th or 18th... somewhere around the end of next week  :lol:

Some really great logos were submitted for hanukkah... you can see them in this thread.  Now we have a few options...

We needed 8 logos, 8 logos were submitted, now how do we want to view them?

Options:
-1 logo per day all day...
or
-all 8 logos in rotation per day

I heard about this band and asked that they send me a CD... I got it earlier this week and absolutely love it!  It's a female fronted rock band (similar to Evanescence) and the singer has this amazingly addictive voice.  I think you should definitely check them out... www.sonicblonde.com and www.sonicbids.com/sonicblonde2.  They have quite a few mp3s on their site and such!

FAQ / Board Issues / 8 Days of Hanukkah Logos

So we have some fun coming up with a lot of holidays, so i thought it would be good for us to begin planning early.  Since there are 8 days of Hanukkah i'm looking for a total of 8 logos, one to be represented each day of Hanukkah.  The rules are exactly the same as the Thanksgiving Logo...
1) has to have a pic of VC, unicorn, or something VC related
2) has to have NESSAholics.com Forums written on it somewhere
3) has to be along the lines of a Hanukkah theme  
4) it must be 200x91 pixels
5) you may only submit 1 (but you can change it anytime until voting period)

Hanukkah begins on the 19th, so all logos have to be submitted by Thurs, the 11th and the voting will go until Thurs the 18th.  The top 8 winners will have their logo used each per day (and will share the 24th and 25th with Xmas Logos).

We agreed (myself and the rest of the NESSAholics.com staff) that no staff members will be creating logos.  We're doing this for everyone else =)

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / NESSAholics.com Contests!

Hey There!

For the month of December, NESSAholics.com will have *two* contests running.  This is simply a courtesy post on the forums as the contests will be completely ran through NESSAholics.com (the site) with no affiliation to the forums directly

The first contest will be for the individual that has done the craziest thing to promote Vanessa since they learned about her music.  This can be something you did to your family, friends, school mates or complete strangers!  Remember it has to be crazy and it has to be silly!  You get bonus points if it provoked that person(s) to check out Vanessa Carlton or listen to/buy the CD.

The second contest will be for the individual that *does* the craziest thing to promote Vanessa in the month of December!  We want to get some hype around Vanessa before the single is released, what better way than get more Vanessa fans!  When i say more, think of Agt Smith in the Matrix trying to get more Smiths!  hehe.  Of course you will receive bonus points for a couple things... a) If you video tape or audio tape whatever it is you do!  b) If you get any additional people to show up/register on NH.com or here with the forums!

The contests will begin Dec 1st and the deadline will be Dec 31st.  The winners will be announced the following Mon, Jan 6th and the winners will be chosen by all members of the NESSAholics.com staff... after i demand their input  It's going to be based on what makes us laugh the most!  You have to be willing to do a few things though...
1) Whatever is submitted via text will be allowed to be posted ON NESSAholics.com
2) If you submit any video/audio you will allow us to stream it from the site so everyone can enjoy!

What happens to me often is if I go out to dinner or such, and Vanessa comes on the radio i call the server (or many servers) over and ask them if they know who this artist is.  If they don't, i send them on a mission to find out who it is for me!.  I know this isn't very original, and i'm sure there are a lot more people that are more creative than I am, so let's hear it!

Hi, my name is Stephen Jenkins and I am making a movie about Vanessa Carlton, and her new album.

I?m looking for a few (20 to be exact) Vanessa fans to not only be in the film, but also to attend a private showcase where you get to interview Vanessa and account for your experience with her music.

Here is the event:
Date: Saturday December 6th.
Location: Manhattan
Vanessa will play new songs, talk about them and talk to you, and it?s all going in the movie. Also you will get a chance to talk about what you think about her.

We only have room for 20 guests so we are seeking the hardcore, die ?hard, dedicated and devoted Vanessa fans.

Here is what you need to do to get an invitation to this very special performance:

1. Be a fan: tell us how many shows you have been to, if you run a fan site, tattoos help, journeys made and mostly how Vanessa?s music helps you.
2. Tell us the question you want to ask. Tell us knowledge that we don?t know.
3. Be able to get to New York City the afternoon of December 6th
