I'm only half way through my first listen right now and so far I would go with "intro". Naaaaaaaaaah... I'm on Tuesday Morning and it rocks. Many more listens needed to get a fave...

Other Musicians / Fanny Pack...

fanny pack lmao

I've got a Nano Piano midi module with a manual that boasts about how you can keep it in your "fanny pack". How we laughed :D

But then, Americans would probably think a "bum bag" was an accessory for a tramp.

Completely Off-Topic / What song was number 1 the day you were born?

The chicken song!!! ha ha fantastic!!!

Hollllllllllllllllllllllllllllld aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa chicken in the air, stick a deckchair up your nose, buy a jumbo jet, and then bury all your clothes, paint your left knee green, and then extract your wisdom teeth, form a string quartet, and pretend your name is Keith.

etc. etc.

(jeez I can remember all the words...)

Everyone bought it for the B-side anyway (I've never met a nice South African).

Uk: The Wonder of You (The king himself)
US: Close to You (The Carpenters)

18th Uk: The Only Way is Up (Yazz).
US: Roll With It (Steve Winwood).

Well, 18 years makes a big difference...

I'm going to do 30th too, because I can.
uk: Rock DJ (Robbie)
US: It's Gonna Be Me (N Sync)

Who says music quality is going downhill...?  8O

Completely Off-Topic / Should people be religious?
« on: June 11, 2003, 07:40:19 am »
Hey I'm enjoying reading this discussion. It makes a change to see people debating religion in an adult manner (look at http://groups.msn.com/ChristianDebate for some amusingly heated and childish threads).

I've always been bothered by the whole DNA aspect of life. But not as bothered as I am by the concept of some kind of supernatural being that created it. I'm always interested in reading about people's theories on this stuff, but I doubt that written word or argument is ever going to change ones underlying beliefs.

And to be honest, I really hope God doesn't exist, because if he does I'm going straight to hell.

Well there's tons of software that can be used, although a 30 day trial program could be a bit OTT if you need to convert a pic every now and then .. annoying when it runs out anyway.

Freeware image converty software is probably the best way to go..

You're right, of course. The major programs are just the easiest ones to find and install quickly. If you're as lazy as me, then you don't want to spend ages searching through freeware download pages...

Anyway, I forgot about The Gimp, which is free, and rather nice. Everyone should have a nice paint program anyway :)

Polls / Contacts or Glasses?
« on: June 08, 2003, 07:45:10 am »
Both. Erm... not at the same time, obviously. ;)

I usually wear glasses but have a bunch if disposable lenses for going out etc.

Nobody done the laser eye surgery thing then? I know someone who has, and he's very happy with it (he had Eddie the Eagle style mega-thick glasses before). But whilst I have no qualms about sticking bits of plastic in my eyes with my fingers there's no way anyone's about to slice my eyeball open and burn bits of my retina...  :?

I agree about wearing contacts in smoky places - I can't wear them when I'm really tired either. Dunno about casinos tho - I do all my gambling on-line :)

Paintshop Pro and Photoshop can convert between a myriad of image formats, and there are free trail versions on the web.

I use ImageMagick convert program, which is free, but also a bit geeky and command-liney.

Just seen the video for are you happy now on TMF. So we're getting it on the cheapo music video channels in the UK now. Which is cool, because I can't remember *ever* seeing a MB video on them before. Hopefully The Hits will add it to the request list soon.

Oh, and I mucho liked the vid and the track :)

I personally find it hard to imagine not believing in any sort of higher power or not believing in anything at all.

I don't. I find it pretty easy.
