I'm going to have half of a Full House XL Pizza with mushrooms, onions, and little pieces of hamburger meat, and then for dessert, a KiWifrOOt. :D   Not just any KiWifrOOt, either, but a genuine Zespri green! :D

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Why is it so impossible to find...
« on: November 09, 2004, 06:52:50 am »
Vanessa Carlton on vinyl?  I have searched every resource I have from time to time and I have been persistently unable to find Vanessa's voice or music etched into a piece of plastic.  Why is this?  Or better, has anyone else located any?

Other artists are easy to find:  Every single Avril Lavigne or Maroon 5 have put out is available on vinyl.  Even Britney and Christina are available.  Green Day's LPs are all on vinyl too, but that calls back to their indie days.  A(lmost a)ll good punk/alt-rock bands stay on vinyl even after they go major-label.

But anyway, where's my Vanessa record????

Live Shows / Will she extend her schedule to include us?
« on: October 25, 2004, 05:56:53 am »
Why isn't Vanessa stopping anywhere I can get to on one tank of gas?  The whole St. Louis - Nashville - Memphis region is getting skipped right over.  How can any performer not stop in at least one of them, all of them being famous for their music?!  I wasn't able to get out and see her last time, and I so want to see her this time, but she's making it so difficult.

Completely Off-Topic / The New Marmite Thread
« on: October 08, 2004, 06:46:19 am »
Okay.  Yes, I'm back.  I guess I might as well bring this back too.

You all talk amongst yourselves.  I'll give you a subject:  Marmite! :D

Introduce Yourself / A reintroduction, if you please...
« on: October 08, 2004, 05:46:43 am »
I've been gone off this board for the best part of a year, but I think I'll come back, even if only part-time for a while.  Some of you may remember me, but I'm sure there are plenty who don't.

Basically, I'm the one who usually participates in any conversation having to do with Marmite.  Hello, everybody! 8)

Good, with that out of the way, I'll move on to say that I'm eagerly anticipating the release of 'Harmonium', which has been delayed now for a full year.  (Some of you may remember that we were originally told last November, then March, then June, and then September!)  Anyway, it's on the way, and that's all I need to know.

Any questions, please feel free to reply! :D

Completely Off-Topic / Marmite
« on: September 22, 2003, 12:11:06 am »
Greetings everyone!  I just must let everyone know about this wonderful substance I've imported from New Zealand this week.  It's called Marmite.  It's a yeast spread from Sanitarium high in B vitamins and folate with iron, and it is most excellent on freshly baked breadsticks. :D

I noticed there's not a single mention of Marmite (or any other -mite for that matter) on NESSAholics, so here's the first.  Who else here likes Marmite?  I'm absolutely addicted to the stuff and I'm going to have to place another order as soon as my next check comes in.

Now don't confuse this with a product from CPC in the UK also called Marmite.  The British may love it, but I've heard enough rancid comments about it that I'm not willing to try it, and I would try almost anything once or twice!  But anyway, there's my 3ยข.

http://www.sanitarium.co.nz/products/spreads.html

Marmite is New Zealand's original yeast spread.  Long valued as an excellent source of Vitamin B Complex, now Marmite is packed with even more goodness.  We have added Folate, B12 and Iron--essential nutrients for us all.

Folate is particularly important for Mums' to be and also helps us use the energy from the foods we eat.

B12 and iron are vital for good health and peak performance. Marmite provides a tasty 'meat free' source of B12 and iron.

Marmite is so versatile too.  Try it with avocado on hot toast, fresh bread or crackers.  It is also a tasty addition to stir-fries, pasta and soups.  Enjoy!

Completely Off-Topic / Anyone here also post on liveDaily?
« on: June 20, 2003, 07:38:58 pm »
If so, I'm a fellow NESSAholic in need.  For some reason (or more likely, no reason at all) I've been banned over there on the liveDaily boards, but I never said anything offensive and I was never sent a warning. :( It was probably just an accident, but nonetheless if someone would please ask the administrators/moderators (particularly Monarchy, the mod of the COT board there where I post most) what happened and if they could unban me, I would appreciate it beyond belief!  My screenname there is zuriel. :)

This is a post I made a little earlier on the VCMB in response to someone's comments on the song "Superhero" and what Vanessa had to say about it herself.  After I read it for myself, I thought I would copy it over here because you might get a kick out of it, and it's all true and you know it.

The favorite songs of one's most devoted fans are almost always going to be ones that didn't make the album. Even songs that she doesn't like, a lot of fans are going to love in every way. A song she never finished could be the inspiration one special fan may need. When it comes to us madly dedicated fans, we're going to love anything that comes from the desk of Vanessa Carlton. If she talks about boogers and snot, we listen and enjoy. If she decides to stop 30 seconds into a song to belch, we cheer like raving lunatics! Heaven help us all should she be walking by a crowd of us one night and suddenly sneeze on somebody! ("I'll never bathe again!") I dare say that if she ever decided to take a break from writing and recording songs for a while, she could make great money duct-taping paying fans to things!

Y'all don't feel bad.  I'm in this with you! :D

Completely Off-Topic / I picked one. How do you like it?
« on: April 22, 2003, 12:00:19 am »
I picked an avatar today.  It's from a picture some of you will be looking at the entire month of September.  I hate that I had to shrink it down so much, but until I do a signature image, it'll do. :)

So what do you think?

Completely Off-Topic / Besides Vanessa, who is the prettiest?
« on: April 17, 2003, 08:59:14 pm »
Okay, I know that the vast majority of you know that Vanessa is the prettiest baby of them all (or at least she's on your Top 5 list), but (of celebrities now, not your girlfriend, unless she's a celebrity) who is the prettiest girl in the world besides her?

I have to say Shiri Appleby (Amy on 'Swimfan', Liz on "Roswell")!  I can't look at her without tilting my head and saying, "Awwww!" :)

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Vanessa MIDIs?
« on: April 17, 2003, 08:19:48 pm »
Does anyone have any really accurate-to-the-record Vanessa MIDIs?  If so, by all means PM me; or you can reply here if you don't mind everyone else knowing.  I would really love some MIDIs and I'll send you a big thank you if you can hook me up! :)

Okay, imagine this:  The lights are off in our front parlor, the Christmas tree is on and the lights are blinking and flashing, I'm lying flat on my back on the carpet like you would on an alien's examination table with my eyes closed and my head right in front of my Granny's console stereo which is playing my entire 'Be not Nobody' cassette at a moderately high volume.  I'm totally relaxed and eventually I can no longer feel the carpet, just the music; otherwise my body is totally numb and I'm slowly going dizzy and euphoric.  Can you overdose on Nessahol?
